Updating my info for the Be our guest list , We will be at the BC CL from 5/30 - 6/7

AND I have a question(s)! We have decided to fly in Thursday night (5/29) instead of Friday morning. I booked a room at POP for that night. Our Flight comes in at 8:30

SO my questions for anybody that has done a split like this. When checking into pop do I just make arrangements for them to move our luggage to the BC the next day? We are packing a carry on with items we need so we don't need out big luggage.

Also...We are planning to Hit the MK Friday....what's better, just check out and hit MK...then take a little afternoon break and check in at BC? Or head over there before we go to MK?

I finally put up a banner and the info for the upcoming Beach & Yacht Club DIS Meet on Page 2 (Community Post):

Let me know if I am missing anyone who thinks they want to come.

July 2014 5th Annual Beach & Yacht Club DIS Meet

Thanks for looking after us Dee! If anyone should be there it is you, so flat or not, you will be missed! :sad1:

Our waitlist came through and it's official! We are staying at BCV in May. It's our first stay there. So excited! :cool1: I was curious. Has anyone taken magical express from MCO? If so do you remember which order BC comes in and about how long it takes? I know it depends but just was curious about an average. Thanks!

Congrats. We are waitlisted for BCV for May also.

How long were you wait listed for?

Even though I don't think they are Disney CMs, they are working on Disney and YC/BC property, so I would think the Mouse, and the folks in charge, would want to know if there was an issue so they can try to address it.

:thumbsup2

thank you. you are so helpful :goodvibes

I'm going to miss all of you by 2 days!!!!! What a bummer!!

Jay

Bigger bummer. I'm missing it by a DAY!

Enough already Jay ... you always miss me ... the second I leave for Jeanne's to help set up the classroom every August, you arrive. This year I even missed you in the winter for your conference. So because of that, you are hereby ordered to change your arrival date to that Monday (1) so I can say hi to you and the family and (2) you can attend the DIS MEET!!!!!

Jay, we can have our own meet.

Got it!

I'll make the change

:)

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest we keep on Page 1 (Post 15).

:woohoo:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

The order of the Magical Express drop-offs can change, but I think on my two trips, we have stopped at Caribbean Beach, Boardwalk and then Beach Club. I would plan on an hour and a half from wheels down to the BC lobby.

You should definitely write- I have an email address for Guest Services and a snail mail address for Mim Flynn, the General Manager of the Yacht & Beach Club on the first page of the thread (Other Useful Info Post- #14 )

Hi there it does change depending on how busy it is. But I can tell you we stayed at BWV at the end of Dec. the order was CBR, BW then they were moving on to YC/BC. Hope that helps. We'll be at BCV in May too! Can't wait!

Thanks that's helpful. We are both getting close. BCV here we come!

Congrats. We are waitlisted for BCV for May also.

Good luck with your waitlist!pixiedust: I hope it comes through for you as well.

I just booked YC for 5/24 - 5/28 with the FL resident discount. Dh and I stayed at YC last year over the same weekend for SWW. This trip will be my sister and two nieces (8 & 5) and myself. It will be the second time I have taken them to disney. I just found out I am expecting, I will be about 15 weeks during our trip. Even though I am a passholder and have many trips under my belt I am a little nervous about going pregnant! Any tips or room request ideas would be appreciated!! Can't wait to be back at YC!

Hi all! It's been a couple of weeks since I've checked in and caught up with all y'all. I had a little trip to WDW during that time and I ran the Princess Half Marathon! This was my first time running a half marathon and I loved every second of it! This might turn out to be an annual pilgrimage for me!

BC was sold out during my dates so we stayed at SSR. SSR is a beautiful resort but I missed BC a lot! As we ran through Epcot during the 5K on Friday I got a little misty-eyed as we ran past the IG entrance. I could see the top of the BC and became wistful. Nonetheless, SSR is a lovely resort. The weather was predicted to be horrible the morning we were scheduled to leave so Southwest allowed us to change our flights to the day before. Yay! We added an extra night to our trip. My girlfriend and I stayed at POP that night before moving on to SSR. POP was fun!

The Mousekeeping at SSR left us a few towel animals. I don't think she did very well in the towel animal-making class during training. Here are some examples of what we received. Can you figure out what this first one is supposed to be? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

We ordered some grocery items from Garden Grocer for our trip. I highly recommend them. Everything was delivered before we checked in and the cold items were kept cold at Bell Services. We had a ton of water/Gatorade/wine/snacks/yogurt/etc left over so I found an unsuspecting family at breakfast on our departure day who was willing to take our leftovers. Fortunately they had a stroller in which to transport all of their pixie dusted groceries. How funny is this pic?

We took a Wishes fireworks cruise. If you can swing the pricey cost of it, I highly recommend it! We were able to do it because we had 8 ladies who paid their share of $40 each. It's reasonable when you only have to pay for one person versus an entire family! I was lucky enough to get this shot!

I have to throw in a couple of gratuitous race pictures in here. Temps on race day were around 65 degrees with 93% humidity. Lots of fog and clouds until we crossed the finish line. This one is of me as we entered Main Street USA. Christi is holding on to my shirt so I didn't get trampled or fall. It's one of my favorites from the weekend.

Still smiling at Mile 12!

I did it!

Here are my fellow Princesses....we don't look excited to be on a Girls Weekend at WDW, do we?

No trip is complete without a Grey Goose Super-sized Slushie! I brought my refillable mug to Epcot with me but it fell on the floor in the bathroom before I could use it....YUCK!!!!!!!

In three short months I'll be back at WDW. We are doing a crazy split stay: 1 night at POP, 2 at GF and the remaining 6 at BC. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

Peace out, my YC/BC peeps!
Princess Cathy

This one is for Dee!

Here is the list of the types of people you go to Disney with:

The Food Pornographer: This person whips out their camera the moment the plate hits the table while simultaneously yelling at you NOT to TOUCH IT!!! Under their watchful eye your food is photographed repeatedly, from every conceivable angle and in the most unappetizing of ways. An hour later when they have finally finished 'getting the shot' your food is ice cold and moldy and you are extremely intoxicated from that seventh or eighth Lapu Lapu you downed while you were waiting for them to finish.

~A subset of the The Food Pornographer: is the "almost all eaten" Food Pornographer: This aspiring food pornographer is earnest in their attempts at wanting to photograph dishes but they never seem to be able to quite get it together in time to remember to photograph the food while it is still all there. Their food pictures frequently resemble homicide scenes and copies of their work are posted on car rental web sites to remind patrons not to drink and drive.

~NM

Too funny! I am most definitely in the Food Porn subset! I am also a Room Porn gal....I make the entire family wait in the hallway with the luggage until I can photograph the perfectly cleaned room before it's gets messed by our junk. DH ruined a room pic during our first BC stay back in '12 and he still hasn't been forgiven yet!

Hey NM….To kind of piggyback off the Food Pornagrapher, I represent the Room Pornagrapher.

I make my family wait in the hall when we check in so I can get pictures of the room before we destroy it. I do not understand their :furious: angst :furious:as they stand it the hall with their suitcases while I carefully CSI our home for the next week.

Come on people. This room may never look like this again!

Great minds think alike!

I really need to use the multi-quote function when reading back thru two weeks worth of this thread.......

Shouldn't this be called the August Dis meet?
Whatever it's called, it sounds like fun. :)

So, as for a room request.....we would like to be close IG, and bridge over to Boardwalk. We are booked in a standard view room this time around. Could we still be close to lobby with these requests?
Actually, the section of the BC that is closest to the IG and bridge is Boardwalk is also the farthest from the lobby. Those rooms also tend to be mostly water and garden views. Most of the standard view rooms are fairly close to the lobby, I think. :)

Congratulations on finishing the Princess Half-Marathon. I love your medal and race shirt. I think you need a crown like your friend has. You earned it. :goodvibes

GREAT photos!!!!! Although I couldn't figure out your towels lol What a great idea for a girls getaway :)

We have used the RAC (Resort Airline Checkin) 3 times at the Beach Club and we love it. After you hand over your luggage, you won't see your bags again until you pick them up at the airport. They print your boarding passes so you can head right to security when you get to MCO.

Does anyone have pictures?

Oh, wait, I do!!!

:lmao:

For the Beach Club, the desk is outside of the lobby. Go right instead of left like you would for the bus stops. They weigh and tag your bags. If you have carryons, you can check them in with valet/bell services right there.

Probably the biggest thing you should know is the hours. They used to close by noon or 1 pm, so you have to use the service before then. Not sure what the current hours are.

You must have your bags to them 3 hours before your flight or they will not take them.

In the past, there were some airlines that did not participate, not sure which ones aren't part of this program currently.

The RAC program is independently contracted, not Disney employees.

Anyone have any comments about the service with international travel?

After checking through our bags, we gave our carryon to bell services to hold while we played at HS.

.

For International travel, we never were allowed to check in our bags with RAC, we had to bring them on DME and check them in at MCO. I think it was Teena that told me in January that just recently they changed that, and now international travellers can use RAC to check in luggage!

Thanks for the review of your Marathon weekend. Sounds spectacular!

Oh yeah! Forgot to mention- I posted the chapter in my trip report where I met you and your family at the pool.

There are some nice pictures of SAB at night if anyone wants to check it out. Page 55, I believe.

:goodvibes:

No idea, but maybe an accident victim or a toddler throwing a tantrum about not wanting to leave Disney World?

Shouldn't this be caled the August Dis meet?
Whatever it's called, it sounds like fun. :)

OOPS! Drive-by cut and paste from last year's meet! Corrected now!
