Maybe a werid question, but my 2 girls ages 1, 2 DO NOT like things on their arms. We have never had to put their magic bands on them, since they do not require tickets into the parks, i usually do not even bring theirs along, but I have read that you need your KTTWC or magic band to get into the pool at YC. We will all have our bands on, but the babies wont. Will this be a problem at the pool?

We had to show our bands when we entered, they didn't check our toddlers' every time, but they did a few times. I was surprised they both kept them on so it wasn't a big deal when they did check. I'd just bring then with you to be safe, they don't have to wear them, though.

I just received the April activities list so I will post that in a few minutes.

Does anyone know if you share a bus with another resort? This is our first stay at Beach Club, and was wondering if the line for Magical Express is just for the Beach/Yacht Club?

:welcome:

If you let us know when your trip is, I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

As others have responded, the Magical Express and UnMagical Depress buses DO share with other resorts (not always the same ones), buses to MK and AK generally only share with YC and the buses to/from DTD share with EVERYONE!!!

Just wanted to do a little celebration dance that I am officially heading back to the Beach Club in June and August! I posted a while back about a conference I'm attending in June at Coronado Springs, but wanted to surprise my Mom for her 70th birthday and have her join me when the conference ended. I was trying to figure out how to stay at Coronado and just add my Mom on the reservation after my coworker checks out, but decided to SCRAP IT, and I booked the BC for Wednesday through Sunday.....! I will head over to the BC at the crack of dawn and get us checked in, while my Mom boards a 6:00 AM flight from Providence and takes ME to the BC to meet me after my last seminar on Wednesday morning! After our trip to the BC last week, I said forget it, I just know I won't be happy anywhere else, and my Mom will just love it.....

Tonight, I made a little scrapbook page with all the trip details and wrapped it up and gave it to her as her "surprise early birthday" gift..I took care of her flights, tickets, hotel, meals, etc......She was crying she was so happy!! My Dad was too. I can't wait for our Mother/Daughter trip. I was able to get the Summer Discount for those dates, but will see if the AP rates are any better. I'm not holding out much hope as I wasn't able to book ANY discount for August yet.....I actually was in contact with that OTHER agency a while ago and almost booked it then....that's what I get for waiting!! :sad2:

Dee, can you add us to the Be our Guest List for June 18-22, as well as August 22-27??

I need new tickers!!!

And PS, I added those pictures to the Room View thread just now:)

Will do!!!

What a nice surprise for your mother!

And thanks for adding your view pictures!

:goodvibes

There is a note in the pool area FAQ about lockers for the pool area no longer available at the spa? Is this true? Is there a restroom in the pool area?
I am staying one night with my 6 yr old in May. Usually we go to CSR for our one nighters, and use the locker room on check out day to change and get ready for our drive home that night, after swimming. I was hoping to do the same at BC this time. I don't care about a shower, just need a place to dry off and change, and it seems weird to go into the lobby bathroom to do so. Last time I stayed at BC we did not have need of the bathroom at the pool.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for May.

:cheer2:

Yes, we believe that is now the situation with the health club locker rooms, but to my knowledge, nobody has actually reported back here or on other threads about being denied access.

MickeyT- I forgot about that bathroom just inside the YC/BC hallway doors. That is an ok alternative and better than using the bathrooms in the pool area. I used those once to change into my swimsuit, and I won't be back!

Thanks for all the details! Now, I'm sure mom and dad would love the lobster omelet, but the baby... He has enough teeth, sure, but he also has dairy/soy protein intolerance, and the screaming as a result - not sure it's worth it ;-)

Will definitely try to check out all the options for food around the resort - part of the reason we decided to go with YC. Well, that and SAB. And the walking to the parks. And the other dining nearby. And the balconies.

Now, to go and read (not just skim through, silly me) those first few pages.

:welcome:

Please let us know when your trip to the YC is and I will add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cheer2:

There is a lot of info on the first page of this thread, so what I like to suggest is that folks who are new to the resorts read over Post 13 (FAQ) and Post 14 (Other Useful Information) and then if you have questions that aren't answered there, you can either read some of the other in-depth posts or ask us over on the main thread.

Is anyone there now and knows the April outdoor movie schedule? Some friends are going later this week and I'd love to give the schedule to them to help them plan. Thanks!! :goodvibes

Here is the April schedule- there are Easter and Earth Day activities, too, but I can't read the Easter activities on my copy of the schedule

Tuesday, April 22- Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day with us at our Lady Bug Release located at the Yacht? Club Resort between the lobby and the Boardwalk. Not sure of the time on this.

Scott MC, that nice greeter just knew you would end up happy at YC. I know we will too. That whole area around the lake is just so quaint and picturesque!

Yes, you'll love it! My daughter actually liked the room decor at YC! And the most important thing to me is a balcony which is guaranteed at YC.

Dee enjoy your show with your son! I know how you feel. I'm amazed my daughters all thru the teens and now in 20's still want to do things with me.

It's official my vacation is paid for!!!! My dh, dd (5), ds (12) will be at YC August 15th to 20th. First trip for us. I have been to DL many times growing up in Cali. This is first Disney trip for DH and kids!!!!!

I wonder if I could get some advice from you wonderful people! :goodvibes We're currently booked to stay at the Boardwalk Inn later this year. We're making the rounds, trying to stay at every hotel in WDW. :thumbsup2 We've stayed at the Beach Club before (loved it), but not the Yacht Club. I'm wondering if we should switch to the Yacht Club...... Anyone stay at the Boardwalk before? Will we regret not staying at the Yacht Club???

Can you bring guests into SAB?

No. Only guests who are staying at the Yacht Club, Beach Club or Beach Club Villas are allowed to use SAB- Magic Bands are required for all guests attempting to enter the pool area.

Not even DVC owners staying at other Disney properties are able to use SAB.

If you have friends who are staying elsewhere who want to meet up, you could consider going to one of the quiet pools.

:thumbsup2

:welcome: to the thread!

Looks like your trip is in July. I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

I still need to check the past couple of days of posts, but this question intrigued me.

Do babies/infants even get Magic Bands? I presume they don't really need them. In the past with hard-tickets/KTTW cards, park tickets were not required to enter the park, or get FP and of course guests under the age of 3 do not need the ability to open the door or charging privileges.

IF babies do get bands and are required to use them now (although I don't know why they would) then I would think they would be needed to enter SAB. Otherwise, someone could perhaps loan the babies' MB to someone else allowing them access to the secure pool area.

So I don't have the answer to your question, other than asking others to let me know if babies do indeed receive (and are required to use) Magic Bands.

:goodvibes

Thank you. Our arrival is June 8-11, we are excited. I called the hotel and they stated they will scan the infant bands for entrance to the pool. I didn't even think their bands were good for anything but apparently they can open our room door.

Could someone please remind me how late the club level lounge is open in the evening in September?

Whoop!!! :-)

Dee thanks for movie list for April!

Good question!

I believe the lounge is open 24/7 except when it is closed right before each of the serving periods (breakfast, snacktime and appetizers. maybe dessert, too). There is no staffing at the desks or in the lounge after 10 pm. Some trail mix and pretzels are left out in canisters overnight and you can get coffee/tea. I can't remember if there is any soda available- I am a coffee drinker an I don't use milk or cream so I didn't pay attention to the fridge when I got my coffee in the wee hours of the morning.

:)

So i know you can't bring guests to SAB, but what about the kiddie area? Is that in the same place? My father lives in Florida and i might invite him to come visit us at the resort since he hasn't seen his grandson since he was an infant. Is the beach area right there as well? And, can toddlers splash in the beach area( not swim).

You cannot splash in the lake water. You can sit on the beach but the water is a no-no. The kiddie area (zero entry --- sand area by the pool) is part of SAB and he won't be allowed in there. However, the whole family including guests can go to one of the quiet pools.

There are soft drinks available in the fridge in the lounge in the evenings. No water though, which kinda sucked! It was only water that we wanted after a long day, and Sprite didn't cut it.
