"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

So this will be a random question...what does the candy corn ice cream taste like? I'm guessing vanilla but what else.

Thanks for your thoughts....I'm going to add the buttons....Yes, some of the DB outfits I've seen are just cute for anytime imo (I might have to be told who someone is) and others are more obvious.

I have decided to do go as Mickey. This will be my first time to dress up other than just a t-shirt. I am going to wear a pair of the black runners tights with a black shirt, then make a red tutu. I have seen tons of them on iPinterest. I will add some buttons or felt circles on the tutu to be the buttons. I haven't found just the right shoes yet but I have a month to go!

Sorry to cut your post short. Since you've done this before, do you have tips for lining up for the Dwarfs in the sun? I'd be fine if we were indoor (sitting options) or under some sort of shade but having to stand in line for them in the sun on hot pavement seems brutal. I'm sure I'll do it anyway but would like some helpful tips. What should I do besides wearing a hat and slathering on the sunscreen? Thanks

No worries :)...I agree that it would be nicer inside..although the spot they set up for them looks really cute..but atleast Jack&Sally are getting an indoor spot..although I never have a want to meet them lol...but the spot for the most part isnt completely in the direct sun but its definitely hot...I dont think it was unbearable though...Our party was like 15th of October so it was starting to cool off in evening so it wasnt like 105 at 5pm but definitely warm still esp. in a costume haha... If your one of the first few families you can sit along the wall. They meet in front of one of the inner castle walls by Pinocchio and the entrance to the fantasyland expansion..i'm going to dig through my photos and see if I have any photos the spot.

Ok..found one..kinda..you can see the wall and the little wall bench that sits a few people. There was only 1 person in front of us when we lined up and that's as far as the CM's let us sit forward. I cant speak for the line way further down but your partially covered by the wall but before the sun sets its gets pretty hot...we were a family of 3 and we took turns walking around every once in awhile for a bit...but a hat and sunscreen i'd say would be pretty helpful. :cool1::goodvibes

If there is a way to search this thread and I missed it, I apologize. Is there a list somewhere of which quick service locations stay open during the party (or at least the early part of the party)?

Awwww, look at Happy! He looks so happy :) Thank you so much for the photo! I've never seen pictures of the Dwarfs setting up their stuffs before. I probably won't be early enough to take the bench but your photo definitely makes it easier to identify the location.

lot of the fun of MNSSHP is being in the park and seeing what everyone else is wearing..people come up with amazing things..esp family/groups!:cheer2:
I dont think Disney really cares if you come in costume during normal hours long as its not too much..they understand some people dont have the ability to go out and change and come back...i'd think long as you dont look like a character or have a really exaggerate costume that you'd be fine...and then by 4 you start seeing lots of people walking around in them

I agree that seeing all of the costumes is great fun! Some of them are definitely stage-quality in construction and makeup. But I am not 100% sure whether adults can wear their costumes all day on party days or not, but I do know that adults cannot wear a costume to any of the other parks, party day or not, except maybe SWW.

Since it is such a pain to post pics here I thought I would just share the link to my flickr album from my 2013 Halloween trip. It is a lot of pics, I uploaded everything, but party pics start on page 2. One that cracked me up was Dracula pushing the stroller. He was very serious and just gave me a slight nod as I took his pic.

I have a couple of other Disney albums out there too if you want to explore. I am not the best photog and nowhere near as good as some i have seen. I try to replicate some of their shots but do not have the patience to set up a tripod, etc. There are a lot of blurry shots when you enlarge them.

Also, on a costume note, in 2013 my "costume" was a Mickey & Minnie Halloween scrub top from Walmart. It was cute but majorly hot and scratchy because I neglected to wash it before I wore it. Jack and Sally did enjoy picking the spiders off of it though!

I think DS costume is going to end up more towards Disneybounding then traditional costume at this point. It'll just be easier.

As for FPs somehow I got one for 6-7pm when I originally booked them. A couple of days later I got an email explaining that it was changed because they now ended at 6:30. Long story short I changed all my FPs around but somehow have been given a 4th one. The FP I had was for Pirates and now I have 3 for other rides and one sitting in MDE that says Pirates valid anytime between 9am and 7pm. I won yhe FP jackpot!

Same thing happened to me with Splash Mountain. It says anytime between 9am and 7pm, but isn't that covering the original time it was made for (6-7)? Do you know if it can be used for any fp ride, or just the original ride chosen?

Totally just my opinion, but when I tried it I was underwhelmed. I love candy corn, but I thought the ice cream itself tasted nothing like candy corn (and maybe it is not supposed to), and I found the frozen candy corn pieces at the bottom hard to chew.

Good to know I'll avoid that and probably stick with a cupcake.

Bummed they don't seem to be offering the pumpkin spice waffle sundae! It was delicious, and a fabulous break to sit down and enjoy watching the castle show last year. Boo!

Can you get the party Sorcerer's card between 4:00 & 7:00?

Can you get the party merch between 4:00 & 7:00?

Thanks!

No problem, just adding the detail for anyone who needed to know. Doing the party as the only park that day is the best choice, which is why I like to do it on my arrival day. You get more value out of the ticket by using it on it's own day.
I never thought of that!!! I'm kicking myself right now...Non-Refundable, Non-Transferrable...or I would change my Party Day...oh well...live and learn. Thanks for the tip.

I'm guessing the longest lines will be for Jack & Sally, Dwarfs, the witch from Snow White, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Cruella De ville. Maybe the Frozen sisters. Anyone have experience with lines for Alice in Wonderland characters, Aladdin characters, Buzz & Lotso, or Tarzan characters? I'm trying to make a rough plan and its hard to cram everything in in just 5 hours.

This might be a silly question but will I be able to set FP+ for the party day once I hit the 30-day window for it?

Not all of our park tickets are in MDE yet and we are staying offsite.
