How long between visits?

We just returned from a magical first trip to Disney World. We stayed January 3rd-9th at Caribbean Beach. Now that we are home, I am anxious to start planning another trip! I have been thinking about the week after Thanksgiving. Does anyone else return within the same year? Do you all think it is excessive? We are a family of 5 and I would love to save by booking a Value Resort but apparently none offer a room for 5. We kind of went "all out" for this first trip and I know if we return it will need to be a cheaper visit. I would love to hear of how often other families go. We live in Tennessee so it is about an 8-9 hour drive for us.

Well, and I know a lot of DISers will agree with me, it's never too soon to go back to WDW! You may have been bitten by the bug, and, there is no cure. The only treatment are frequent trips to WDW and hanging out here between trips. Alternative therapies include changing it up and going to Disneyland in Anaheim, or on a Disney Cruise.

You might look at the suites at Art of Animation. It is technically a value, but it's all suites so a bit higher than the other value rooms, but it could be less than the higher-tier properties. I'm not 100% sure as I don't travel in large enough groups to need a suite. Have fun planning!

We have been doing twice a year for the last few years. We enjoy it quite a bit. You should look into the cost of renting a studio in one of the DVC resorts. Doubt it would provide the same savings of a value resort but it would pretty much mirror a 7 day at a moderate with the current discount Disney has that goes till June. You could stay at AKV, BWV, SSR, or OKW for almost the same cost as any of the moderates. There's nothing wrong with Moderates either.....I was just making a comparison for cost purposes.

I returned from Disney (POR) early September 2015. On sept. 12, I got an email asking me to rate my recent trip. The next day, I received an email thanking me for booking (for April 2016). Yep, I'm addicted. I go as often as I can.

We go every other year but occasionally sneak in a visit on an off year (like last October we went just for mnsshp) There are other places we want to visit with our kids and we have limited time and funds.

We were there Jan 4-8 and during the trip, my wife and I discussed how we could make this work as an "every year" trip. Once the magic dies down a bit (and the credit card bill comes in), we may re-think that. But we would love to become a more frequent "Disney Family."

We saw so many grandparents taking their grandkids thru the parks. Something to strive for.

We try to go every few years. We were just there Thanksgiving Week but after we got back started the discussion with my family about going in Dec 2016 and was able to convince them so we booked yesterday. This recent trip we did not get to spend as much time in WS at EPCOT as we would have liked so missed out on the movies/attractions in the countries which we enjoy and only got to see some of the storytellers so that is a priority and of course the new Soarin' and evening things at AK to look forward to and maybe there will be the Star Wars fireworks and other things at DHS.

I only live about 30 minutes from Disneyland California so my family goes into the parks many times per year there. It will be just over 1 year though until I go back to Walt Disney World in 2017. This will be my first trip without my parents and only with my best friend. I am so looking forward to this. We are going to have so much fun. It will be her first time ever at WDW and my 4th.

If I had the money I would do Disney twice a year! LOL...We usually try to go once a year bc thats all we can afford. We can't go this year though bc he had to buy a new horse trailer, but it doesn't mean I can't plan for 2017 LOL

This "year" (12 month period not calendar year) I will have been in May, November, February and April.

So, I'd say you can't go too often. :) My son will make it to double digit trip numbers in April and he will be 8 years old.

That said, after this, we do plan to take a break and visit some other places, but as a single Mom with a young child, I really feel like there's no better vacation destination!!

We go at least once a year and have been since 2005. My next trip in March will be my third in the span of 1 year.

For the most part, we tend to go once or twice a year (12 month period, not necessarily calendar year). However, we are going to get 5 trips in this go around (June 2015, Nov. 2015, Jan. 2016, Mar. 2016 and June 2016). We are DVC owners and we purchased annual passes when we went in June 2015. Our passes will expire our last day of the June 2016 trip. We still love the parks, but also like to slow down and enjoy the resorts more. But like I said, this is definitely not the norm for us. We have other upcoming trips that do not include Disney. I can see us going once a year moving forward. Our DD likes to remind us that since taking her and our DS on their first trip in 2005, we have been back at least once every year. She doesn't want the tradition to end!

Some go more often than others.... It all depends on your budget, and How you feel, when you get there???? If you still get that OMG feeling when walking down Mainstreet, or The oohs & Ahhs when watching Wishes, or Illuminations, Then I'd say yes...Revisit, And Often @ that..LoL

But honestly, Planning the next/future trip is 1/2 the fun for sure...True it's a lil daunting & tedious, but I find it kinda A W E S O M E !!!

Well, before our trip last year, it had been 28 years since my last one!

We are going to be every other year or so folks, because there are so many other places to travel to as well! I would like to be there for my 50th birthday, as it will also be Magic Kingdom's 50th birthday. We are also planning a Disneyland trip with the whole clan in either 2018 or 2020.

The Key here is you live in Florida......I'd do this in a heartbeat.... Maybe not as much as you, but close.....

We try to go to one of the Disney resorts (FL or CA) about once a year. Never too early to start planning a return trip!

We made 5 trips in 2015. We are DVC and have APs. Not all of the trips are lengthy. Some are 3 nights. And sometimes we don't spend much time in the parks. Just being on property is a refresher.

Too bad you didnt' know that before you left, the bounce back offer might have saved you money. I've returned as quick as 2 months. between sept 2014 and 2015 I did 3 trips within 12 months and i'm heading back next month.

I've switched to lower cost visits and less all out because I can stay longer and visit more often. Value vs moderate really depends on the discount and where i'm willing to spend money. I'm usually ok with the price different to a moderate so I generally book with just a deposit and watch discounts. generally i'm willing to gamble on the deposit if I don't go (so far have gone or just shifted dates as it firmed up more).

We are on a 3 year plan lol, that's about how long it takes for us to save for our family of 5. We probably could do it earlier but we know how we like to tour and we are growing out of the moderates. Now that the kids are middle and high school age they are pretty busy with activities and we try to schedule around breaks. My son really wants to try the cruise for his spring break(2018) but I know it will be really expensive. I am always in planning mode, now I have the task of keeping up on deals and options for us staying at a deluxe for the convience or possibly AofA for the room or biting the bullet and doing the cruise. We also make a bucket list of the stuff we still haven't gotten to or missed the last trip.
