I wonder why you look so happy? And you certainly don't look like you got hit by a bus as you said you did?
In fairness, this WAS a week after Dopey. That's how long it took me to feel normal - and also for me to get back from the cruise and the park crowds to die down a little bit for optimal pictures.
But yeah. Looking back, Dopey was pretty much the most amazing weekend of my life. I still can't believe I did it - and, honestly, there's no way I would've completed it if it weren't for @FFigawi and @mbwhitti. For reals.
First of all, what do you do for work to be able to be at Disney as long as you have?
I've never been to Texas but I would think winter weather there is better than it is here in Wisconsin. We had a heat wave today it hit 20 degrees!Ha!
Well, easily put - I'm a stay-at-home wife. My husband works for an Internet entity, so he can work remotely from pretty much anywhere. My parents still live in my childhood home in Orlando, so it enables us to take our dogs, drive from Texas to Florida and stay for a while to avoid garbage-y winter weather that I hate!

That is excellent. I was a stay-at-home dad for almost 7 years. I didn't get to go to Disney for long periods of time but in your case, you sure did earn it this year didn't you?
Ha! You got me. Basically, I hate it when the temp dips below 60. Give me 100-degree days whenever I can get them!
After lurking here for many months, I finally joined today to say thank you. I learned so much and it was great seeing other people who were as excited about the same event as I was. We've been to Disney several times and I've run other half marathons but this was the first runDisney event for my daughter and I. She asked me a year ago to run a half with her and when she got accepted for grad school in FL, a Disney race was a natural choice. I did the 10k as well as the half and she did the half. However, I made a rookie mistake and didn't eat, drink, or rest enough Friday afternoon and had nothing in the tank for the half. My daughter's goal was to do the race with me and cross the finish line together but it became clear at mile 9 that wasn't going to happen. So, now we're registered for another half in May and I'm going to do the Dumbo Double Dare at Disneyland in September for redemption (and a coast to coast medal).

Mid summer in Wisconsin can still get hot. Typically it's in the 70s but we often are in the 80s and 90s. Every few years we get a heat streak where we hit 100. One thing I like about Wisconsin is having all four seasons and every type of weather. However I do start to hate the bitter cold after a while.Right now it's my favorite time of year in Florida, plenty of 50's and 60's,to me that's like perfect!!!I spend May through early October mad at the world with the temps in the 80's and 90's and heat indexes of 110,on top of that there's not a race to be found for months with all the heat.I need to take some mid summer road trips to hang with rteetz in Wisconsin where it's probably 60-70 degrees in mid summer. On a side note just came back from my run club and with this nice cool weather I probably just ran my strongest 4 miles possibly ever,I hit the start button twice on runkeeper basically stopping it by mistake so I don't know how long I ran it in but I went hard the whole way and was barely breathing heavy, plus we did a route with a bridge, that's what cool weather does for you. This same run in 4 months will probably have me pooped halfway through.

Hahahahahaha...I hope Mr. Keels doesn't have to come back to cover the Cavs anytime soon. You will not be a happy camper!Ha! You got me. Basically, I hate it when the temp dips below 60. Give me 100-degree days whenever I can get them!
I always love how when I go for marathon weekend and I'm wearing shorts in the 50 degree weather and then you have the floridians who act like its -10 with coats and scarves.Hey, us too! *high five* Time to break out the shorts!

Oh totally. I thought that the weather for the races last year was near-perfect (once I actually started running...I can admit that waiting around in that weather was no picnic) and I think I was very much in the minority.I always love how when I go for marathon weekend and I'm wearing shorts in the 50 degree weather and then you have the floridians who act like its -10 with coats and scarves.
