Just wanted to share my excitement that over the weekend we booked our first stay at AKL Savannah View for February next year. And the best bit was the upgrade cost from Savannah View to Kilimanjaro Club wasn't much more either, so we decided to go all out as it will be our first wedding anniversary! Looking forward to our first time staying here, it's been on my wish list for a long time

You earn a bead when doing the activity. Earn several beads and you can get enough for stringing on a necklace or bracelet.

We are staying our 1 night at AKL for the reason of their awesome in resort activities. We aren't going to a park at all and in that situation, AKL was the obvious choice. Many think of the resort as a vacation within a vacation. It's our 2nd stay there and I can say that is the case for certain.


No and Yes.
No, I don't believe the DDP is a good deal at all, never do it
And Yes, purchasing the mug is something I would never do.

I can count on 1 hand the number of times we have bought a fountain drink, juice or coffee in the QS spot in our resort. And that's in all of our trips in the past 5 years.
If I'm at the pool I'm drinking a beer, same for DH. DGD drinks water if not at a meal.

There is no problem that you find it a great deal. Others don't. It clearly works out for you and your type of opting for a beverage. Just pointing out that it doesn't work that way for all. And in that case, it's not a bargain at all.

I love that - so cool!

So many activities - I tried to build in some extra resort time for all the activities, but I'm thinking we may need more time, lol!

Got our room text when the plane landed at 11:30
Asked for a room near the elevator and got 4501, which is across from the elevator to the pool
Had great food in the lounge and getting ready to go to the camp fire

I just arrived and it seems like they are removing a tree from the pool area. It looks like they may have already removed some? Maybe I'm just being paranoid but it looks a lot less lush. Is this for the pool fence? If so I really hope they are going to plant it up again. If you haven't been here you probably won't notice (well you'll notice the sawing sound and work equipment), but it looks so bare to me. I know they have to put a fence in but it's so sad.
