Disney Gift Card Deals

Ducked out from work to turn my paltry $120 in GS into eBay to at least get a few more eBay bucks. Got soaked in a huge downpour leaving GS, traffic lights were out on the way back to work and power is off at work. So no internet. Reluctant to place a PPDG order on my phone since I haven't done that before and it's a new device.

Seems like this isn't meant to be today.

It's only 6%.

Yeesh. I am buying about 3k in Disney gift cards from personal sellers off eBay. Eventhough every seller has 100% positive feedback (and plenty of it) this still kiiiinda makes me want to puke. LOL.
I took the plunge on a 52.18 Target card an hour ago, got it during the flash sale for 53.00 Free S/H from a seller with 100% feedback. It happened to be an auction ending within 4 minutes of me searching, so I went for it. I think we'll be OK.
I bought another $200 in BB digital cards from PPDG, went smoothly.
I also received my Sears card from the last sale ($100 card for $85, free s/h) and will take the nail-biting trip to my local Kmart and see what happens. Nervous! I figure if it flops, I'll buy some stuff from the Garden Department for my pool deck or porch or whatever. Maybe new bathing suits or something for the Disney trip? I'll make good use regardless.
I plan on having two "divisions" for my churn...keep churning the ebay/BB stuff with a min of $200 during ebucks promo's, etc., kinda like my gambling money. AND also devote some $ to Target/Disney when sales pop up either at my Giant Eagle/on eBay/whatever. Trying to maximize the ebucks and ebates for the quarter, as they pay out a month or so before our trip. At that point, I'll re-evaluate and see how best to use those funds.
At first I was super discouraged after GCM/Target stopped...but now I am starting to have a bit more fun with it, plus it's good for the social anxiety when you try to buy a GC at a store not knowing what is going to happen!!

I did the same thing this past December and it worked out just fine, I think you will be fine too. If you have any old Disney gift cards on hand that do not have a balance, maybe transfer the balances of the new cards you receive from the personal sellers onto the old ones for added security.

 Thought: What if I happened to find a good looking and honest eBay seller of Target cards....say, my husband perhaps....and I decided to buy those from him and pay via paypal gift cards?

Someone tell me why this is a bad idea because I feel like I am missing something obvious.

Edit: Yikes. Ebay fees are steep! 10%. Ok maybe thats the big obvious thing I was missing...off to crunch some numbers (instead of laundry which I should be doing instead).

Edit part II: The only thing I would be gaining from that churn is ebates and the additional spending on our Ink credit card (around 10% if we get GC's from an office supply store). Maybe the 5% from Target online for the final cashout if they continue selling those. All in all probably not worth the hassle. Dang-- I really wanted to be onto something:rolleyes:

I haven't crunched numbers for this kind of thing though I do remember hearing that ebay fees were 10% and then I think there are PP fees too, right. However, ebay does send coupons encouraging you to sell so maybe with one of those coupons it might be worth it. Of course, those aren't available all the time. And there is the risk they figure it out and shut you down...

Missed the last promo due to en route to DLR. grabbed this one with my little $200 eBay gc. Used PPDG and first time said invalid payment so I started over and did with my other PayPal and worked fine. Found this amusing as the last few times PPDG was only working with the account It's now declining. I'm starting to think the PayPal fraud software has bipolar.

I'm only keeping this $200 in eBay. It's basically a mini churn I'm doing on the side to make small potatoes off the transactions but free money is money. Made $14 with ebates included. The bulk of my funds I'm doing Kroger-Target-Disney for a 19% discount. Although I am taking advantage of buying eBay via fuel points and then during promos adding in stuff like iTunes, Starbucks, etc for daily living and getting some extra bucks with that but not stressing over pinning vacation hopes and funds on such a risky venture.

I am still sitting on $150 in my eBay cards so when I got the flash deal, I opted to buy a $100 Hyatt GC from GCM. I'm still blocked from PPDG...called PayPal, they say no problems...contacted eBay....they say no problems...contacted PPDG....THEY say no problem...so...there must be no problem? WRONG! I still cannot buy anything with PayPal from PPDG. I'm done with them...sort of. I'm going to take my last $50 in eBay cards and wait until June 21. My first purchase within the last month from PPDG was on May 19 for $400. On the chance there is a $1K limit (I assume that because when I hit $1000 in purchases, that is when the "non-problem" started), then I should be able to buy $50 on the 21st. IF my theory is correct, then perhaps I will use the $200 in eBucks that I have earned, purchase a BB gift card and churn with those until I get locked out again.

I did my first Best Buy churns today. Bought $300 with the eBay gift cards I've been hanging on to with the last 3% on Ebates and another $300 today with a $45 and some change card I've had for a while that I used to use for shipping fees for Target cards and credit card for the rest. Searched all over the darn store to find the gift cards and wouldn't you know they stare at you RIGHT when you walk in! So I grabbed a loadable Disney one and a loadable eBay one and asked for $300 on each, he asked for the $600 and looked at the paper gift cards a little funny but proceeded with no questions asked other than, would you like me to throw these away? And they went straight to the shredder!

I got home with my gift cards, loaded my $300 of Disney in my DVA, and bought another $300 for Best Buy. It's about an 8 minute drive/3 miles to Best Buy but feels like an eternity with Target just two blocks away :rotfl: But I will GLADLY do it again since it went so well!

A little side note - I know Ebates is no longer giving cash back for Target fillers + gift cards but I must say something about their customer service. They are SO on top of it all! I had an issue about an order I did with Ticketmaster. I purchase Denver Broncos Season Tickets and it's THROUGH Ticketmaster - I made sure to click the cash back button. I never got the credit. (1% of $1,200!) So Ebates spoke to them on my behalf and said that unfortunately Ticketmaster couldn't credit me for this purchase. My assumption is that it's because their intention is only to credit people for single games or concerts, however, this is NOT in the terms and conditions - in fact there are none for Ticketmaster. Ebates said they couldn't comment and that it was essentially Ticketmaster's decision. However, they still gave me a $5 credit just because they felt bad about the issue. Just wanted to add that little tidbit - they're a great company with prompt and courteous customer service.

Never had problems with paypal in the past, but today while trying to buy $300 BB it gave me "that form of payment is not available". I ended up using my business paypal and it worked fine. I didn't really buy from ppdg until gcm stopped seeking target and even then it was only $200- $300 a promo.

My churning days are pretty much over since I cashed out my remaining eBay for Disney last week (finally got the last $200 in eBay>Best Buy>Disney and even got the ebates!). We have some SWA flights coming up, so I got 2 of the discounted GCs today from PPDG with no hassle . . . . for once. We really want the pet hair Roomba - tempted today, but I think I will wait for a 4x or 5x promo.

Grrr. Was anyone able to flip twice today? Ebay is telling me: To help protect your account, we limit the amount of items purchased by a single account at any one time. This buying limit is temporary. You can come back soon and buy more items.

I was able to get $500 BB this afternoon, but had to use my husband's Paypal acct with my ebay (he still has never gotten a promo). And I bought $50 for Fandango (my paypal worked for that one). Trying to flip it again and I can't, not even a single card. I think I'm going to go ahead and try to buy that homeschool book I need and see if that works.

North Austin peeps, are we all going to Lakeline Best Buy?! The guys asked me what the deal was because several people have been buying Ebay cards with BB cards today.

EDIT: Nope, can't buy anything.

I cashed out most of mine to Disney through target and Best Buy. I have $200 in Best Buy still that I haven't had a chance to use yet. So I decided to add $200 back in to churning and bought $200 Best Buy today through PPDG. Going to try and buy $400 in eBay at Best Buy tomorrow.

I got this exact message for the first time today. I had only bought $150 BB. So frustrating.

PSA!!

If your Gamestop doesn't have physical GC in stock... You can go on your phone to gsdigital.me and you can have the cashier scan the barcode in store. The barcode will pay for a digital gift card that will be emailed to you. You must sign up for an account. EBay gift cards are only in 25/50/100 increments, but it's an option. I haven't tried it myself yet!

YMMV as always.

I didn't bother to read the fine print until now. Not good on gift card purchases. Oh well!

:sad::charac2::crazy: That's it- I am done for.... I actually purchased a small item this morning on eBay...and then got busy all afternoon....

I have sold a few target gift cards this month, because I got an offer of selling with only $50 of fees for the month of June. I need to find someone else with this offer and work with them. Lol
