***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I have a silly question... kids 3 and below can enter without being scanned or anything right? (since they do not have a ticket)... How is security with checking strollers?

Looking right now for today's available FPs for a party of 2, I see the following availability:

Safari:
2:05 PM
2:45 PM
3:05 PM
3:50 PM
4:00 PM
4:35 PM
5:00 PM
5:45 PM
6:05 PM
6:45 PM
7:00 PM
7:45 PM

FotLK:
12:30 PM
1:30 PM
2:30 PM
3:30 PM
4:30 PM
5:30 PM

I took at look at tomorrow too, since it's a Saturday with AM EMHs so likely a busier day there. Plenty of availability for FotLK. Lots of times available for the Safari too, but only starting at 12:30pm, and going through 7:30pm. So as long as you are not looking forward to an early morning time slot, you should be fine for that too.

I have found this the case at 30 days out too - all of the morning safaris are gone. looks like availability doesn't change a whole lot.

I haven't been in a while but security was pretty lax at checking strollers. I had to open any bag I had on the stroller and they poked in all of the pockets but they didn't poke around the stroller.

I've read several threads over the last few months though that security has tightened considerably. Expect to have to empty anything out of your stroller that is in there so it can be checked over. No, your child will not be scanned or anything. Kids ages 3 and up are having to do the finger scan though with their tickets now.

I just saw this in my WDWPrepschool email. Hopefully there's some Muppets fans out there! At least it's good to finally get some news of something being added instead of removed.

  • Disney Parks Blog just announced this morning that “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History" will begin at Magic Kingdom on October 2. The show will take place several times a day just outside the Hall of Presidents and feature Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and The Great Gonzo recounting the story of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

I notice that I keep being drawn to Wilderness Lodge. I just seem to randomly and intermittently stumble upon positive comments about WL, particularly the atmosphere at Christmastime, and I've become very intrigued by this resort. I think I have a really good spot in our schedule where taking the boat over will fit nicely into our day. What I've read a handful of times recently is how awesome meeting Santa is at WL. Does anyone happen to have any experience with Santa at WL?

Thanks all! I want to know what to expect. :) Hopefully it won't be too bad.

I read the same thing but have never gone there yet. I also read the great comments about Santa so I really want to know what the schedule is with that Santa. Seems like a good place to explore. :D How many Santas should we go take a picture with? LOL!

There's a thread about this on the theme park board... Yulilin3 has posted times too!

This morning was maybe the third time I've read this since I've been snooping around these boards, so I'm taking it as a sign!! lol :santa:

EDIT: Or maybe not if he's only there on Christmas Eve! lol Thanks @Lisa F

WL is a stunning resort anytime, but especially at Christmas. It was where we were supposed to stay this time, but without a discount, it wasn't happening this time. Anyhow, I don't know about Santa, but you should absolutely take the boat over whether to have a meal or just to explore.

LOL, I'll try to pop in the resorts board and see if anyone knows for sure.

If you're going to twist my arm like that.....well, okay!! :D WL is now on a list! I appreciate the input! :thumbsup2

I called. Because that's what I do! lol I talked to someone *AT* WL. She said they don't have a schedule yet, but typically Santa only makes appearances on Christmas Eve. It's possible he would appear other times but nothing that would be in a schedule or that could be planned on. So it looks like it's a non-Santa visit, but I'm still excited to check out the resort. And maybe enjoy a meal of some sort...:ssst: I have the whole day of the Christmas party open, so I'm thinking a pre-party WL visit might be a good plan. ;)

It's a goal of mine to visit WL too! Right now it's either going to be our WDW arrival day on 11/27 when we go resort hopping, or before MVMCP on 12/1.

this is the only resort that I don't really have in my schedule! we have dinner at CR, GF, Poly, and are staying at BWV and AK in addition to the poly. We are going to do Hoop Dee Doo, just wondering if maybe we should stop at WL on the way back or something. or maybe on the way over if we leave a bit early.
