A Christmas present from Walt Disney World, behind the scenes of Pandora

Merry Christmas everyone!

That's one really weird ride system they are using for the banshee ride. Looks very Soarin. It'll be interesting to see how it works.

It will be similar but also different. I think the most similar aspect is the seating style except your seat won't be a hang glider.

Isn't it supposed to be more of a thrill ride than Soarin? Wonder how they will accomplish this? Maybe just more movement? Will the ride "vehicle" essentially stay in the same place like it does in Soarin?

Is it multi-person per row like Soarin'? I guess I was always thinking that in the movie only one person rides each Banshee - though I guess individual kuka arms or whatever they are using isn't really practical

I was thinking maybe something like a main arm with separate arms off it (almost like a tree trunk with multiple branches) so it gives individual experiences

Maybe the seats will be similar to the Tron coaster to give it the feel as you are riding on the creature's back...

Yes it will be. The vehicle will move much more than Soarin.

As seen here there is a cage like structure that goes down in front of the seating. The seating on the left of this photo has it on. The seating row on the right does not have it on.

So basically a similar story to the new movie Rock Dog. I don't mind studios using the same base stories, but why do they all have to rush to do the same theme at the same time? Doesn't that just divide dollars?
I am not familiar with that story but this movie was completely rewritten once already.

Doesn't release until late February, from IMBD:

When a radio falls from the sky into the hands of a wide-eyed Tibetan Mastiff, he leaves home to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician, setting into motion a series of completely unexpected events.

Somewhat similar yes. Coco also has to do with Dia De Los Muertos (the day of the dead).

Interesting note...

There were no phased closings for the 4th of July, or Christmas this year. We will have to see about New Years. Attendance is definitely down this year.
Interesting, heard that they reached closing before noon yesterday from some CM families.

I read on several sites that there were no closings.

I'm not sure what "CM families" would know. The rank and file have little knowledge of operational status unless it's part of their specific function on the assembly line...
