2017 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Got my 9.5 done this morning - didn't think I'd do the whole thing, but managed to get it done. Slow though!! We didn't do anything crazy last night - but I did eat my weight in cheese and wine, so I am thinking that contributed to my "blech" feeling while running.

Way to go!!

I also did my 9.5 miles this morning. Great way to start 2017! If you need me, I'll be napping on the couch this afternoon

Slept most of the day on Sunday. Man I hate being sick. I was able to get my 9.5 miles early this morning. Pace was very slow, but I ran the entire thing! Only times I stopped was when I had to wait for a crosswalk signal. Now it's nap time LOL!!!
Have you looked into taking Apple Cider Vinegar? When I was sick last year, I took it every day for a few weeks and although it wasn't an instant cure, I felt it speeded up my recovery time. Since then anytime I feel like I'm coming down with something, I'll take it for a few days.

Male runner here. The Braves are playing a spring training game against the Astros at Champion Stadium that day, so I will be there with beer and soft pretzel in hand. And nachos, can't forget the nachos.

That sounds like fun. Is that the sort of thing that was sold out a year ago? If not how do you get tickets?

Looked it up..1pm after the half? Sitting for a game? I might never get up lol.

Do you know anything about lawn or "pennant berm" tickets? Could one stand in the back and pace instead of sit? :)

Acv is a miracle.

A few years back DS woke up with a nasty nasty cold after midnight. Couldn't breathe through his nose, horrible cough, the works.

I somehow remembered acv and had everything needed. Hot water, acv, raw honey, a pinch of cayenne and a bit of turmeric. Juice from a wedge of lemon if you've got it.

I was first stunned that he would drink it, and then by the time he had finished half of it he could breathe through his nose again. By the end of the cup he wasnt coughing. Went back to bed and was a million times better when he woke in the morning.

So I definitely have FOMO regarding the 5K. HAHA. Is the Raw Threads membership really worth $125? I have never purchased anything from there, but I am at the point where I know I will regret it if I don't do the 5K and I already have my tickets and resort for the Glass Slipper Challenge so I can't go through a travel agent. I also don't see myself being able to raise the minimum amount for charity either, so it seems that Raw Threads is my only option...

I like them and you get free bag and race patch with registration. Any other races after first I guess we get Race patch. If nothing else buy for this year, use to sign up for 5k and stress free register for any other RD races and not renew.

In a word, yes. I like registering for races on my schedule and it's the same cost with active fees.

My mom and I are running the 10K on Saturday and then I'm running the half on Sunday. She's planning to cheer me on (thanks mom!) but we can't figure out if she needs the Chear Squad spectator package. She could care less about the shirt, but does want to see me. Any thoughts on not buying the Chear Squad package? Can she still see me in MK (maybe by the castle) and by the finish line? That's all we really care about.

Yes. I spectated the PHM in 2014 - she can take the bus with you to the start and then get the monorail to MK...wait on Main Street (she may be there for awhile) and then monorail back to the finish!

No cost to enter MK. If she wants to see you IN Epcot she would need a park ticket. At the finish line, though, that's outside of the park - so no money. She may want to bring snacks though, or cash to buy snacks/coffee (we loaded up on snacks the night before).

Thanks Ariel! This is really helpful. She'll probably be waiting a long time (running is hard guys) but she won't mind. And my mom is never without snacks! I'll definitely remind her to stock up.
Yeah, to me the ChEAR Squad seems appropriate for people with mobility issues or anyone with no knowledge of Disney's Transportation system. But we saw my BFF 3 times during the half without ChEAR Squad, so it can be done. :) helps if you can text her updates too.

There are several outfits that sell tickets i.e. Stubhub, Vivid Seats. I chose my seat near the concession stand area so I could walk around to keep loose.
