A Private, Romantic 30th Anniversary Trip- Just Ask My Friends! Last Afternoon: EP p. 37 9/19

So we did some more Trick or Treating in the Tomorrowland area.
Great way to kill time! Free candy!

I didn’t take many pictures of other guests in costumes, but I liked this Incredible family.
That's awesome!

Well, at least we can tell who is in the picture.

You see, we have never seen Hocus Pocus.

Don’t judge!

We haven’t seen The Princess and the Frog or The Nightmare Before Christmas either.
overrated, underrated, overrated.

I've seen them all. Hocus Pocus was ok. I'm of the age that it should be nostalgic, yet I don't feel nostalgic about it at all to understand all the love for it. It was what it was... just an OK Halloween movie for kids.

Princess and the Frog, to me, was a throwback to the golden age of Disney animation. Great story, great songs, I loved it. It doesn't get nearly the respect it deserves.

Nightmare... meh, I've never really been able to climb on board the Tim Burton bandwagon. I'll just leave it at that.

He liked it. He really liked it!
I'm glad it was a success!

The show sounds awesome! While I don't recognize all the characters either, I LOVE Hocus Pocus so I would have been super excited to see this! Wow, love the Incredible family - they look amazing!!!

So so glad the party was a success :worship:
Ok into to your lack of movie watching:scared1:... Dear Goodness Woman get yourself settled in front of that telly and put on Dirty Dancing!!:lmao:
I've never watched the others but holy heavens you've gotta watch Dirty Dancing ( even if you have to throw the men in your life out for the night lol).

I remember queuing with my friend from school to see Grease when it arrived in the cinema ( 6 months after you guys got to see it). We didn't get in to the matinee and my mum wouldn't let me stay in town for the evening show (my friend did) so I was the only girl in school on the Monday who hadn't seen it:sick:. I was sad and mad in equal measure :guilty:

By the way we plan "the fantasy trips too". Sometimes it's my favorite thing to do :thumbsup2

That's awesome!

The Incredible family was pretty amazing.

Well, at least we can tell who is in the picture.

Not sure if that is good or bad. Might have been better if you couldn't recognize the subjects of this crappy picture.

Thanks for the reviews. Of all of the movies I talked about, I probably would like to see the Princess and the Frog the most.

Other than Edward Scissorhands, I think the only Tim Burton movie I have seen was Coraline at a middle school movie night. I wasn't blown away.

I'm glad it was a success!

I'm really glad he liked the show. Another success story coming up!

:goodvibes

It was a fun show. A good mix of song, storyline, villains and a few special effects.

::yes::

That is just cruel that you didn't get to see Grease on opening day. I haven't seen it in a few years, but I have been to a couple of live stage versions at local high schools. "We Go Together" came on my playlist yesterday when I was doing some yard work yesterday. Fortunately, Mark was away and Ben at driver's ed so they were not exposed to my full-volume singing. Hope the neighbors were all working...

(Note how I have avoided addressing the Dirty Dancing situation)

:rolleyes1

Celebrate the Magic and Hallowishes

Celebrate the Magic and Hallowishes

It was nearing 10 pm, time for Celebrate the Magic followed by Hallowishes.

Mark had never watched the fireworks from Main Street- actually the first time I saw them from that vantage point was earlier that year with Teena- so we positioned ourselves there for the show.

Of course, Main Street is the prime habitat for Photopass photographers, so we had a few pictures taken before and during the shows.

Mark was blown away by the Halloween fireworks. He loved, loved, loved them!

So much so that we tried to make a major adjustment to our itinerary later in the week to fit them in again somehow.

The Rest of the Night

After the fireworks ended, we went to test out the theory that ride lines were shorter during party nights.

Walked by Mine Train- I think it was around 40 minutes or so- Nope!

We continued on to Peter Pan. I had gone though the standby line during Ben’s class trip while I was alone. I was in the queue almost an hour and I got to experience some of the cool and interactive effects. I wanted Mark to get a chance to experience it too, but not with a line quite that long.

When we got there, wait time was about 30 minutes. A bit longer than I hoped, but we got into line.

Not a great decision because it was so late at night and we were too tired to appreciate the details. The wait sapped what little energy we had left, so when the ride was done, so were we.

This was the only picture I took in the queue.

The colors of the castle as we were walking back were beautiful.

We made our way to Main Street right around the time the Headless Horseman was arriving. I took a couple of pictures, which did not come out great.

We could have stayed to watch the parade, but since Mark was not impressed with the first showing, we made our exit. We stopped for a couple of pictures in front of the train station.

Here's a better picture of the scary Headless Horseman

And just like that, the party was over.

I still regret that we never were able to meet up with my friends.

But at least we had these souvenirs:

****************************************************************************************

This was our 2nd full day at Disney and it was a FULL day!

We started with a pre-opening breakfast at Be Our Guest followed by morning attractions at the Magic Kingdom

We hopped over to EPCOT via monorail and snack our way as we walked around the World Showcase

I picked a pearl as a souvenir from the trip

Pool time

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

We “only” did 17,000 steps- we broke 20,000 all of the other days of our trip except for the last.

The next day we would be heading to Hollywood Studios for Extra Magic Hours in the morning, EPCOT in the afternoon, dinner at La Hacienda followed by fireworks… but where???

Next up: Are you sure you read that schedule right?

I love, love love the Magic Shot with the dancing ghosts!
Fireworks and Castle looks stunning. I love all the shades of orange on Main Street and the Headless Horseman :scared1:
More great pictures outside the park love the look of fear on your and Mark's face ;)
You did have a really long day but a great one :goodvibes

What great updates. Love all the Hallowishes shots especially the orange castle and fireworks burst. You really did pack a lot in. Perfect day:)

lol yes I noticed your lack of dirty dancing mentioning:rotfl2:

I have ,needless to say, seen Grease the movie many times and also an amazing stage performance in the Grand Opera House here a few years back :thumbsup2
Love both the story and the music and I can totally picture you singing at the top of your voice while gardening :goodvibes I often dance along to the soundtrack just to horrify my sons (especially when I tell them I'm practising my moves for their future 21st birthdays):rotfl2::stir:

Thank you! I hope you and your family had a great one. We had a nice dinner. Nate was home from school for the weekend and we were joined by my dad, my brother, his son and his former mother-in-law.

:daisy:
We did spent the day at my DD Emily's house with my DH and my beautiful grandchildren Nora and Owen

My other DD is busy with her finals but I get to bring her home in a week.

Looks like you had a pretty nice view of HalloWishes. Such a fun fireworks show.

I love that photopass picture in front of the train station with the Headless horseman.

What a bummer that Peter Pan was still a 30 minute wait.

I have never gotten any photos during the fireworks or projection show. Those are some great photos!

That's awesome that Mark loved HalloWishes! I have never seen it in person but it does look great online.

Looks like despite some minimal issues it was a successful party!

I love your photopass pictures with the projections on the castle! So cool!

Looks like you guys had a great view for HalloWishes! That's one show I don't think I'll ever get a chance to see ... the Halloween party isn't really something I ever plan on doing. I'm glad you guys enjoyed!

Mark was blown away by the Halloween fireworks. He loved, loved, loved them!
I was finally able to get DH to sit down and watch Hallowishes. We sat in the Hub in front of Casey's and it was a great view. People in front of us stayed seated, which was an added bonus. We both loved them. :)

Here's a better picture of the scary Headless Horseman
I love that magic shot. ::yes::

That was disappointing that you never met up with the friends. :( It seems like that is common when groups try to meet up in the busy parks.

Great pictures of the castle and fireworks! Really impressive!

That's too bad you never met up with your friends.

The only MNSSHP I've ever attended was unbelievably crowded and ride wait times were really high. My grandkids enjoyed the dance parties with the characters and it was great watching them have so much fun.

I love a jam packed Disney day! So worth it!

Thank you! The fireworks show was so good! I loved all of the different colors of the castle.

Yup, long, busy day. Just the way we like it. Although I love when Mark looks back on the trip he remarks about how we "took it easy" Just gives an idea of how commando some of our trips have been.

Have you seen Disney Channel's High School Musical, which is a modern day tv movie with the Grease storyline? It was quite popular here when Nate was in elementary school.

*attempts to avoid addressing Dirty Dancing again*

Thank you!

The Fall/Halloween decorations are incredible!

I appreciate your kind words about the fireworks pictures.

We were pretty scared! Ha ha! It was fun that Mark was playing along.

Your grandchildren are so cute! That bunny shirt is adorable! Do they live close by?

Wow, finals already?

Nate has finals in a few weeks then comes home for the summer. I don't know what he is going to do all summer. He has not started looking for a job or internship yet.

The headless horseman is a good magic shot. I'm really glad we decided to stop for the photo.

I really wanted Mark to go through the standy-by queue, but it backfired. We were too tired to be waiting that long for a ride.

I'm glad we did those photos.

Hallowishes is a great show. I have heard that Nightastick, which replaced Wishes back in 2009 or 2010 for a bit, was very similar.

I'm glad we did a couple of pictures during she show. Fireworks make a great backdrop!

We are glad we went to the party. Mark said he would go to the party again if we go back in the fall.
