That is SUCH a big screw up that I would look into contacting the agency your TA works for and try to get them to replace the GC if they can't get your original reservation back.

Unfortunately most TA's working with top Disney agencies only make a small percentage of a trip and have absolutely NO control over what their agency will offer. Most TA's only make 6% commission on a trip, and we have to pay taxes. Its not so easy to replace things in this type of a situation. ( I had a client upset over the Hurricane last year wanting compensation which there was nothing I could do other then to call Disney and ask, when that wasn't good enough I asked my agency who said they could do nothing.. & it is what it is. )

They have been making it harder to cut back on number of days, you can add easily but it's harder to remove days.

After an exhausting day, I finally arranged for FD at POR in early September. After staying up like a zombie half the night, and checking right as FD dropped, there was absolutely no FD available for POR, very disappointing for us, since we have always wanted to stay there. As my "change" button stopped working, I was forced into a 2-hour phone trauma ("technical difficulties", etc.) and finally booked FD at the Pop Century. But checking at 6:00 pm, POR was listed as available again, so I snagged it. Ironically, I could have slept last night like a normal human, and simply logged on this evening and still have gotten what we wanted to begin with. But you never know. Thanks to all on this board that have helped me through a new experience!

I've been trying since 6am EST, can't get through on the phone ever and can't get to modify my reservation online. At this point all values seem to be booked judging by trying to just book one separately so looks like my trip is off now. The RO offer doesn't save us enough to make up for losing free dining.

Hey all! Just here to say don't give up - I just managed to convert my CBR reservation to free dining with a standard room and kept my GC's. I was extremely bummed this morning after staying up all night and then spent four hours on the phone with nothing to show for it. I can finally sleep

I booked 3 pirate rooms at CBR around 6:00 AM. I added Memory Maker to my room. We wanted standard rooms. My wonderful mother spent the entire day checking the site for standard room availability. Finally by 3:00 PM she was able to book the 3rd new standard room reservations. I am so proud she booked everything by herself! She came to my house at 4:00 this morning to watch me work magic....LOL. If I canceled the reservation that had the Memory Maker do I need to repurchase it? I think I read somewhere that it transfers.

MM is t's own transaction and should have a confirmation number. Once you buy it you own it.

Not a huge difference between the two. I would keep it.

RO becomes a better deal if you go to a deluxe or moderate. Maybe check out some moderates?

If you didn't get free dining I would check the room discounts. There are some great deals, particularly with some of the deluxes.

There was no availability all day at CBR, I finally got through at 1:00pm on the phone and the CM said there was only pirate rooms left for my stay 8/25-9/2, no more Standard rooms left for FD. I was refreshing the website all day and Standard CBR rooms that were previously unavailable were showing available for my dates around 3:00 PM ET. I modified my existing reservation from a preferred room to get the Standard with FD.

I had almost the same experience.... seems like they opened up CBR at 3:00. I was freaking out because I had to pick up the kids from school at 3:20, but got it booked in time to get them.

The reservation number was the same, so I am assuming just as you are

FInally got the phone to ring just now after checking throughout the day. I'm on hold now, for probably forever.

Sometimes DVC point rental is cheaper than or almost as much as a mod depending on what you need.

The spinning wheel of death LOL! Sorry just found that funny. Try using a different browser. I was getting the death wheel and then I changed from Safari to google chrome and my "change reservation button" came up almost right away..before that I had the wheel for hours. Good luck!
