Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

You are correct. The entire south portion of the 7th floor is now DVC. The DVC side will not have CL access. There is a "gate" presumably with a MB scanner on the south side of the floor towards the south elevator bank that will restrict access (someone, I wish I could remember who, posted a pic in the last few weeks of this being installed).

So yes, with the exception of the Deluxe Rooms, all of the WL CL rooms are on the 7th floor. When I was there in November a CL CM told me there had been talk of making the 6th floor CL as well. Obviously take that with a BIG grain of salt given the source. But it would kind of make sense given the inventory of CL rooms has been more then 50% reduced with the DVC conversion. Although just speculation on my part based on that CMs comments.

Hope that helps.

Yes it does thanks I'm now thinking if switching to wl cl instead. If I can find a way to work out how ideally I would like a wl cl/akl click split. Just need to work out how much the free dining is worth it and seeing if the room discounts come up in January like they did this year. It may be better to get room discount and just pay for food instead. Only fourteen months to make a decision lol. Just wish I was better at knowing when to look for discounts and the best way to get a split stay.

It's ridiculous to close the entire lounge for an hour several times a day when people want to sit there and chat.

I agree :).

thanks, mickeynut1, for your encouragement! We loved WL during our non-CL stays -- so happy to be finally staying CL! :goodvibes

I do want to say something about the Club Lounges staying open between servings, having just returned from AKL-CL and BWI-CL where both lounges remain open. While I'm happy they do, I wish more people would respect the CMs trying to get the next service set up. At AKL especially (this was our 11th or 12th CL stay there and I've observed this each time), people were starting to serve themselves while the CMs were still setting up. I mean, there were several times last week when guests would push past a CM to get at something! I saw it several times at BWI too, but not nearly as intrusive (no pushing!).

And while I'm at it (lol), there are tongs, serving spoons and forks all over the counters. I understand a child reaching in with their hands, but I was stunned at the number of adults who did this!!! One young woman contaminated almost the entire tray of macaroons at BWI! After grabbing several with her hands, she proceeded to push the others around on the tray with her fingers, rearranging them! Maybe I'm a little more sensitive or paranoid than most, but that just grosses me out!!

You're welcome! WL is one of our favorites (CL or not) as it has such a relaxing atmosphere with great CMs. Hope you will report back about your stay :goodvibes.

As others have said, you are not too senstive regarding kids/adults reaching for food with their hands. It's gross and unsanitary :sad2:.

Hi there, your trip will be here before you know it! Here's my input, I'm sure others will chime in if they've had different experiences or opinions. Sorry this is long.

Crib - Yes, you can e-mail or call DSS and ask them to add this request to your reservation. You can do this anytime. I can't personally speak for GF but at other resorts the supply of actual cribs is relatively limited. I've received a pack-n-play more often than an actual crib, just FYI. Also in my experience, regardless of whether I have it noted on my reservation I usually end up having to call housekeeping anyway, or stop by the CM desk and ask them to do it. I think it's just one of those room turnover things that never quite goes right... but YMMV! :-)

Room Requests - Yes, you can e-mail or call DSS and have them add any requests to your reservation. You can do this anytime but rooms are assigned roughly 5 days in advance so you want to do it before then. I'm sure you know this but any requests are just that, nothing is guaranteed (although I've generally found Disney does a good job in trying to accommodate requests to the extent possible). And yes, requesting both rooms to be close together and on the same floor as the lounge is a totally valid request. You 'may' want to consider prioritizing your requests if one of those is super important to you over the other. Curious, what room type do you have booked?

Side note on room requests - this is really anal but I don't like to mix requests in e-mails.... meaning if I'm e-mailing about my room location or view requests, I ONLY do that. I don't add anything about a crib, etc - I'll come back and do that later. I figure if you give someone "one job" they have a better chance of getting it right. I know that's silly, but I take my room requests seriously! :rotfl:

Stuff Left in Room - This one is trickier. Are you asking for something to be there when you first arrive? I would keep your expectations low in this regard. You can ask, but they are likely to refer you to something like Disney Floral and Gifts for their in-room celebration packages. The CLs aren't particularly staffed or setup to have someone be able to put things in the room before you arrive plus quick turnover and last minute room changes make this relatively difficult to execute, so in my experience they just say no. But like with everything, YMMV and you may have better luck!

I do suggest you drop DSS an e-mail at some point and ask them to make a note that you are celebrating your anniversary and baby's first visit on your reservation. I always feel sort of selfish doing this because it sounds like I'm expecting something - although I'm really not. But if someone wants to throw some pixie dust my way because I'm celebrating something, heck, why not share that info in advance.

Outside of that, the CL CMs will likely have a supply of buttons there (I know Poly does, I'm sure RPC does as well). I've experienced everything from the CM doing the most wonderful detailed text and little accents on the buttons.... to the CM handing me a sharpie and button and saying "here you go, you can fill it in yourself." So... experiences vary.

Anyway, that's my input. Hope that helps and hope you have a great trip.

Thank you for all of your help! To answer your question, we are staying in just a regular standard room at RPC- whatever the cheapest room category is (if you can call anything in RPC cheap-LOL)

I emailed DSS and requested the crib. I will wait til closer to our trip for room requests. I would probably prioritize being on the same floor as the lounge over the rooms being next to each other. I think that will be easier with the stroller.

One other question- are there high chairs in the lounge?

...It seems to be similar to GF rpc for offerings but looks like WL...
Oh dear heavens no!!! PLEASE adjust those food expectations down. We love GCH CL, but its about the convenience & location. The food is ok but nothing to write home about. It's not even on the same planet as the RPC pics I have seen. (FYI they do have sparkling wine on request even though it wasn't listed last time I was there.) I hope the food will be upgraded significantly with the remodel in Aug - Oct. Scones are great btw!

I have to agree. What we had at RPC last week was much better and more plentiful than what was served at the GCH (except at midday when I think it was pretty close). But I love the convenience of the lounge and the location of that hotel!

Just back from a 4-day stay at Poly CL TPV. We did a split stay with AoA to start the trip. I'm going to split this into a few posts so it's not so long. I'll address some of the things I've seen questions about, like the check-in (or that I myself wondered about before arriving).

We checked out of AoA at 6:15 am on Thursday, and drove our rental car with our luggage to the Poly right after. Valet services unloaded the car - except for a bag with our bathing suits - and risky behavior - our wallets (we spent the entire trip going to the parks bagless). Everything was just directly store in bell services since we all agreed that there was little chance our room would be ready so early.

We arrived at the Poly entrance around 6:45 am. I was greeted at the entrance and escorted to the check-in desk - I mentioned as I was being walked over. The desk CM said she would check me in and call over when we were done to see if someone was there yet (since it was before 7:00 when we started). Everything went smoothly and after asking I was told that I was given a 3rd floor room - my only requests were 3rd floor closer to the lounge.

We were walked over to the Hawaii building (just about 7 now) and Randall gave us the lay of the land. We ran up the stairs grabbed coffee and other drinks, and turkey sandwiches (personally loved the extra protein provided at breakfast), and fruit. We were out the door in a few minutes and hopped in the rental car - we had some pressing business of Epcot morning EMH (we opted for the car, since the walk to the TTC was about 7 minutes according to Randall and we would most likely be waiting at least a few more for the monorail to start service at 7:30).

We got back to the Poly around 2:30 after attractions and lunch at Biergarten. I hadn't received a text about the room, so I just stopped at the CL desk to make sure that I hadn't missed one. While I realize that check-in is officially 4:00 pm, we usually check-in early at Disney and have always had a room assigned by 2:00 pm when we check-in around 7:00 am. They said the room was still being readied. We went up to the lounge to wait and my daughters decided to go to the Oasis pool. They texted me a few minutes later and said their bands wouldn't open the gate. I stopped at the desk and they said they would let them in and mentioned that the manager was doing a final check of the room. Turns out my daughters' bands opened the pool gate now (maybe because the room was actually ready?). While the CM was walking with us, she said that there was a problem with our room in that the occupants thought they still had the room and were actually not in the room and they had trouble tracking them down and getting them out. This also happened with at least one other room - my daughters heard them talking over a walkie 30 minutes later asking if the guests had vacated another room.

Finally had our room at 3:45. Bell services was there with our luggage 15 minutes later.

Our room: TPV 3501, it is directly next to the 3rd floor lounge loft area. At first I was concerned that it would be a busy and slightly intrusive location. I could not have been more wrong!! This room worked out perfectly!!! There was no additional noise from foot traffic to the lounge, or from lounge occupants. The quick access to the stairs, elevator and lounge were fantastic. An added bonus is that 3501 is not an adjoining room - which I can find to be a little more 'neighbor noisy' with the addition of a door instead of a continuous wall. The only time the activity outside got to be too much was on our last morning - probably since we were planning to sleep in. It was the ice machine!! I swear someone must have been filling a party cooler with ice - it went on for almost 15 minutes!

The view - straight on to the castle - directly in front of you when you stepped foot on the balcony. Fireworks view was fantastic, the bungalows did not get in the way as much as they must from other rooms further down the hall. We watched an engagement on the beach from the balcony on our first evening.

We could hear the music for FEA well enough - it could have been a little bit louder for better effect. We had a constant Poly soundtrack being streamed when we sat on the balcony.

After several plan changes, we are now going to be at Poly CL over 4th of July. Is there anyone who was there last year who can give me an idea of what to expect? We're planning a park that morning, but hope to watch fireworks from the resort in the evening (just can't deal with the park crowd). I tried searching for a trip report from last year, but no luck.

Lounge experience ...

I don't know whether it was an anomaly or not, but on Saturday the number of people waiting for rooms late on into the day was astounding. By counting groups with leis (thanks for the visual clues!) there were at least 5 families still waiting for rooms when we were there around 3:30. Some were quite content, some visibly a little bothered and one woman so annoyed she had taken it upon herself to lay down and have a nap on the bench.

For those traveling with guests around 21 - our 22 and 25 year old daughters were freely given access to the wine area and beers in the fridge. The only time my younger daughter was 'carded' was when her father sent her to get a couple of 'pool beers' at 11:30 am and she had to ask for them.

Breakfast was basically the same every morning (oatmeal, breads, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, fruit) with the extra protein changing from day to day. Thursday - turkey, Friday - chorizo, Saturday - ? since we were headed for AK at 6:15 am, Sunday - smoked salmon.

Mid-day - beers now make their appearance in the fridge - was basically the same (make your own trail mix, cookies, chips) and make-your-own lettuce wraps with the protein alternating between small shrimp and chicken. Most days there were goldfish, one of our 4 days it was gummy bears instead. I have to say I loved the wonton chips!! (worked nicely with the peanut sauce from the lettuce wraps)

Evening - wine and Ku'ulei's punch now make their appearance on the wine bar. I did not write down any of the appetizers, I'll see what I remember. Each night had bread and spreads, crudites (on Sunday it was in individual cups vs. a large platter), peanut butter and jelly uncrustables, fruit, cheese selections. I can't remember the first 2 nights specifically but involved were pot stickers, california rolls, Hawaiian meatballs, seared tuna, and some other seafood items (I don't eat seafood, so my attention span is shorter for those items) Saturday - pork belly, tuna crudo, beet salad, pot stickers; Sunday - pulled pork (I could have eaten a salad bowl of the thinly-shaved pickled cucumbers and radishes used as garnishes), teriyaki chicken skewers with pineapple salsa, shrimp salad, pork pate

Night time - cordials make their appearance, wine and punch stay - we were only there one night since we usually go to the parks at night. On that one night there were cookies and I remember a cream puff, a peanut butter and chocolate pastry, a strawberry cheesecake and I can't remember the last selection.

If you would like to bring with you a bottle of Myer's dark rum - it makes the perfect tropical drink when mixed with Ku'ulei's punch :cloud9: - particularly if you put some in to-go cups in your fridge for the pool the next day :sunny::drinking1My daughters also enjoyed the combination of the punch and sparkling wine.

I know it has come up in discussions for different club levels - the Poly CL did not stop anyone from taking closed beers or wine glasses out of the lounge.

I also must say that I was dismayed at the behavior of some of the guests in the lounge - for the most part all were considerate, but there were exceptions. I thought the CMs were great, friendly and showed a lot of grace and patience.

We're getting there super early this trip, but I know our room might not be ready until 4. I'm sure my family will start getting antsy at some point, but I plan to relax, enjoy the resort and club lounge, and then go for a swim. Once when we were travelling with an infant, I did lay out a blanket and let my baby nap, but I doubt I could nap in a lobby!

FWI above, check-in for Disney resorts is actually 3PM. DVC is 4pm but the regular resort side is 3PM. Although that doesn't always mean you should expect a room at 3, could be earlier, could be later. I've had both. :-)

@barbliny :thanks: for the detailed summary of your Poly CL trip, sounds like you had a great time. For a TPV room, that 'side' of the building (closest to the lounge) is my favorite spot. I will often crack the balcony door a bit to let in the Poly soundtrack when I'm in the room. I've never had 3501 but always wondered if it was noisy being right there by the elevator/third floor lounge door, so glad to hear your perspective on that front.

Thank you again!

Fun! I stayed in a standard RPC room last Feb (2016), loved it. Happy to answer any questions about the standard view rooms, room views, requests, etc. Attached are some pics that may be helpful. @trishadono has a better floorplan/map than this, mine is very crude. I was on the 4th floor, which is the same as the lounge. I think that may have been my only request, but I can't quite remember.

And yes, the lounge does have high chairs.

Congrats on the change! We've never been during that time so I can't comment on what to expect, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Your review is much appreciated!!! 68 days to go for us!!! :yay:

barbliny Many thanks for the detailed review! :goodvibes Poly is always on our radar...had a fun stay there last summer...and have been interested in the changes in the offerings in the lounge since then..also..love to see room location reviews...:thumbsup2

Has anyone stayed at YC CL recently? I got a call from IPO about a week ago and was going to email them back.

I just added another trip to the list-AKL CL savanna view for 12/10 to 12/21. My daughter is going to wish she never applied to the CP! She will be seeing more of me than when she was living at college only one state away-Lol.

And a little update since I posted here about her NY Yankee summer internship: she is living in the city, working in the VIP suites, has met a ton of celebrities AND was welcomed aboard with a handshake and pat on the back by none other than Hal Steinbrenner, the principal owner.:cloud9: I am more than a little envious and told her we need to manage a Freaky Friday switch for a few days. With the way the team is playing and Aaron Judge, Yankee Stadium is the place to be this year-the excitement is off the charts.

We will be going to a few games once our son is done with high school so we are excited to see her there. Now the question is how will we get her to leave in August for her Disney internship?:ssst:

We will be doing a split stay with Contemporary atrium CL and Polynesian GV CL. (4 day/6day)
The first two days at Poly are in a standard room because CL wasn't available. I check every day in hopes that it will pop up but we will be there in 6 days. Anyone ever have any luck with a last minute change like that? It's not that big of a deal but it would be nice to settle in those 6 nights without having to move since we are already splitting with Contemporary. Seems like I had a really hard time with reservations this time around. Not a lot of availability. Also, with the system being out of whack do you think I should call anyway in case it's not accurate? Thanks!!
