Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

We were there last week - 3rd floor balcony, Hawaii building, beach side - no problems with bugs on the patio day or night. But, your location in the resort may have some impact - I would assume that bug problems may be different in different areas.

We had a package of bug wipes in our bathroom. I do not know if it is in all Poly rooms, we were club level and some of the amenities may differ? We never opened them.
Just curious - was your 3rd floor room TPV or LV? I'm doing LV CL in August and I'm getting stressed over how few of the rooms with that view have a balcony or patio.

I know, I know...first world Disney problems... :rolleyes1

1st Floor has 7 LV rooms; 2nd Floor has 7 LV rooms; and 3rd floor has 1 LV room (per Touring Plans). Not sure if this helps or not.

Tikiman shows 6 LV rooms on the first floor, 9 on the second floor and 2 on the third floor. Any idea which is more up to date?

In any case, I'm still hoping I don't get the second floor!

TPV and just for the sake of 'too much information' it was 3501, right next to the lounge. And I understand your preference of a room with a balcony or patio.

Bugs.

Do you find you are besieged by winged insects sitting on balcony or patio? We had a balcony at Yacht Club a couple of times and I swear there was a cicada or giant wasp that came out and terrorized me every time I tried to sit out there.

Also if we get a second floor, can we still slide the door open to enjoy the view? Is it a Juliette balcony?

This is one of the reasons why I don't care if I get a 2nd floor room. Less chance of people actually opening the door and letting winged creatures in, I figure. The other reason being August....doubtful I'm gonna want to hang out on the hot balcony after being in the parks. Blech.

Quick Question about Trader Sam's - I know that children aren't allowed after a certain time - Does anyone know what that cut off time is? Thanks!

8:00 pm - we happened to be there last week at that time - they do a big fun announcement about getting out. We went at 7:30 pm last Friday - it was a great time to go, we were able to sit anywhere we liked. Starting filling up a bit after that.

I'm gonna take my kids at 4pm when it opens just to check it out and have a fun "virgin" drink together before our Ohana meal.

For what it's worth, regarding the Hawaii CL building, many of us on here believe that most of the 1st floor rooms (facing lagoon) are now categorized as LV since the construction of the bungalows. The bungalows block a full and unobstructed view of the Castle, which now makes most 1st floor rooms LV (that is the way it was explained to me anyway). Still, we love the 1st floor and request it every trip! We had LV 1st floor 1505 last trip and prior to that we had LV 1st floor 1503 a few times in a row.

Ok, perfect!!! I'm thinking we will go there after our 4:00 'Ohana reservations before hitting the pool for the night! :cloud9:
