FANTASMIC! Dining, Dessert, Fastpass Thread - Q&A Here

Was able to get through after being on hold for an hour and booked river belle terrace premium viewing where you get to remain in your seat for the show, totally worth it I hope

Does someone know where specifically the HB On-The-Go reserved section is? Also, is it standing-only or seated?

I don't think anyone knows yet. The hope/assumption is that the reserved sections will be seated (on the ground) as they have been in the past. It is also not known yet if HB will be general FP as the on the go packages were previously.

Got it! Thank you. I'll have to wait until F! actually comes back to find out then.

I guess you won't get a pad to sit on anymore at BB.
Hmmmmm, I don't think I like the standing only policy.

It has been posted that all dining packages are standing room only, no sitting on the ground, except for the 8 pm River Belle Terrace seating.

The cast member I spoke with this morning told me that the BB and RBT sections will be sitting on the ground, as they have done in the past. Every question I asked, she referred to the information they have been given so I hope/expect this to be correct. For me, it's not worth purchasing the dining package if everyone is still expected to stand.

Edited to add: So, I just checked what the verbiage was for the dining packages before F! went on hiatus using the internet wayback machine, and it used to state that SOME of the reserved sections were standing room only, now it clearly says all sections are standing only. The person I spoke with was certain that the BB and RBT areas were going to be sitting on the ground. Hmmm...

Thank you for the info, even though I'm not happy about it. I don't think it's worth it all if I have to stand. Can't see over people, plus it's just uncomfortable. :( I might wait and see how the RBT seating goes.

I wasn't able to turn my existing RBT (non-package ressie) into a package, so after my second phone call (and after being on hold for nearly an hour) and hours of trying to book something online, a very nice CM got me a 4:15 HB on the go package for the first show on 7/17. Don't care about standing, I'm just thrilled be have a spot for the debut show. It's our family's first trip to Disneyland and we're also doing the D23 Expo, so this is shaping up to be a great trip. Glad I persisted and got what I wanted!

I am to short to see over people as well... and standing in one spot for a long period is hard.

Any ideas what the view might be from the RBT seating might be? We have never dined there before.

I like the hour phone waits, PAWS, and all of my current reservations being converted to Spanish. I guess they didn't see the traffic coming when the were set to release these packages for one of the most popular shows in the history of DL that was on hiatus for over a year...well planned Disney, well planned.
Mike

The website has updated and you can no longer choose dates after August 27th. My first attempts this morning did show the dates as active, but no availability.

Based on where the restaurant is, my guess is you would have a side-on view of the island with a direct facing view of one of the water screens. I would expect you would be looking across and over the walkway that will have a constant stream of people passing through during the show. There will also be CMs out there waving light batons and repeatedly telling guests not to stop and to keep moving and so on. Beyond that walkway will be the viewing area for the show. So from Riverbelle it would be a somewhat distant view, but you would have a chair.

Are AP discounts still given for the meal packages? Does anyone know what will be included/excluded on the prix fixe menus for Riverbelle and Blue Bayou as compared to the regular menus for those locations?

I cannot seem to call in to try and transfer an existing BB to a fantasmic package. Every time it's just a busy signal! Well, at least I got RBT for pretty much every Saturday in August! I'll keep trying to call in.

Also, if it turns out it is standing room only, that would just anger me to no end! Rivers of America is not set up for standing room only. At least the WOC terraces were somewhat designed that way, so there are multiple levels, and you are maybe a maximum of 5 people deep. With Fantasmic, you could easily be 20-30 people deep and have no way to view it, even if you were tall! I never did the fastpass for that exact reason!

I booked Blue Bayou a couple hours ago on the phone for August 22nd. I kept getting the busy signal and it took me 51 tries before it finally started ringing, then I was on hold for about 55 minutes. I was Told Blue Bayou would have ground seating, It sounded like River Belle did as well.

When we went to BB for the F! dinner package in November 2015, they brought us the regular menu. I was confused so I asked about the package and she traded out the menus. I'm not sure where the mix-up was, but I was told on that night that there were plenty of openings for the dinner package and anyone could have converted. It all might depend on the night, so if you haven't been able to convert an existing reservation, it doesn't hurt to ask when you get to the restaurant.

Well i got RBT for the date i wanted July 25. Really wanted BB. i will keep trying. Maybe when the craziness dies down people will cancel or move their reservations. i can only hope. But guess i am lucky with what i have
