New ticket offer

From DVCnews.com

Now through January 3, 2018, Members may 25% save on a Platinum Plus Annual Pass. The cost of this pass is normally $769 per person plus tax, but is being offered for $559 plus tax, a savings of $210. With the Platinum Plus Annual Pass guests can enjoy:
  • One year of admission to all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks (during normal operating hours);
  • The ability to go from park to park on the same day—with NO blockout dates;
  • Theme park parking;
  • Admission to 2 fantastic Disney water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course;
  • Disney PhotoPass downloads;
  • Special offers for stays at Disney Resort hotels;
  • Discounts on dining, merchandise, recreation and tours are also included.
To take advantage of this offer, the Annual Pass must be purchased by January 3, 2018 and the first use of the Pass must occur by December 31, 2018.

The Platinum Plus Annual Pass can be purchased online, by calling DVC Member Services, or in person by visiting a Guest Relations location at any Disney theme park or Disney Springs.

The second ticket offer is for members who renew an existing Annual Pass. Members who renew an annual pass by October 1, 2017--and before it expires--will receive 13 months of theme park admission rather than the normal 12 months.

Passholders can renew up to 60 days in advance of the expiration date on the pass. To renew, contact Disney Vacation Club member services or visit a Guest Relations window at a Disney theme park or Disney Springs.

The third offer involves a special Magic Your Way ticket. Members can purchase a 7-day ticket for the price of a 5-day ticket. The cost is $370 plus tax for the base ticket with no park hopping privileges. The Park Hopper option may be added for an additional $75 per ticket.

As an added bonus, tickets purchased under this offer will remain valid for 6 months rather than the normal 14-day expiration period appled to Magic Your Way passes. For example, if the first day is used on August 1, 2017, remaining days on the 7-day pass are valid until January 31, 2018--6 months after the first use.

All days must be used on this ticket by December 31, 2018 regardless of first use. The offer is valid for the Disney Vacation Club owner and up to 7 eligible family members (must live in the same household).

These offers are part of Membership Extras program. New members who purchased after April 4, 2016, must purchase directly from Disney in order to have access to these and other Membership Extras.

When I add the tickets to my cart it does not reflect the discounted price. What gives? I am definitely logged in and it says annual pass offers for DVC members....hmmmm

Just bought the gold pass last week for November. Hoping they will upgrade to Platinum Plus when I activate it.

i just bought 7 day hoppers from UT and was planning an upgrade to a DVC Gold. I hope I can upgrade to this instead since its the same price point.

Renew Your Pass – and Enjoy an Extra Month
When you renew your annual pass by October 1, 2017 (and before it expires), you'll get a 13-month pass! That gives you an extra month to experience the magic of Walt Disney World Resort.

Remember, you can renew up to 60 days in advance of the expiration date on your pass.

In addition, this brings the price of the Platinum Plus Annual Pass to the same price ($559 - plus tax) as the DVC cost of a Gold annual pass and $120 less than the regular Premium Annual Pass at $679. The 25% discount also applies to renewal of current Annual Passes as long s they are renewed by January 3, 2018 (which I expect means that there will be price increase after that time).

I wonder if the will let me upgrade the 13 month annual pass I bought from the last promotion.

I had the same question and spoke to someone at member services. According to her, but I will call again tomorrow to make sure, I can renew/upgrade the annual pass I bought last year with the 13 month special (I believe it was the DVC Gold?) to the Platinum Plus (I need it due to the no blackout dates....and it also includes water parks) for $505 per adult plus tax. However....you NEED TO RENEW before october 1st. But it won't activate until the expiration date of the Gold. Is that clear as mud? I also purchased two 7 days park hoppers for the price of four from UT, and she could not help me with the question about upgrading those to DVC/Platinum. I'll have to pick the brain of someone at regular Disney. Don't take my word for all this.....sometimes you get different answers. But it sounded about right to me. A really great deal for us. Oh....and there is also the direct DVC purchase rule in there somewhere too.

We are staying with a free dining package in August. We are savings the three day hopper tickets to use December 30,31 and Jan 1. We have florida silver passes that exp on Jan 19th so we where going to use those three day tickets and then renew our passes on Jan 1 before leaving the park.
Does anyone think we might be able to use those tickets to renew to dvc platinum plus with this new discount?
I know we have renewed between dvc and Florida resident passes before depending on which was a better deal at the time.

In my scenario - I just bought the 7 day hopper deal from UT, saved a ton! We are not going until April 2018.

Is there a way to call to convert those tickets to an AP or is this something that can only be done in person?

If it can be done on the phone then i would be tempted to upgrade to the AP and book another trip for Feb of 2019.

My brother upgraded yesterday. He had purchased the 13-month vouchers prior to the price increase and activated them on Saturday July 1st. He had to pay $10.65 (the price difference between what he had paid for his Gold AP voucher and the current price of the DVC Plat.+ AP) but his expiration date remains Aug. 1, 2018.

ETA: Note that he activated the Gold AP first (thus getting the 13 months) and then upgraded to the Plat+ AP yesterday. I don't know if you would retain your 13-month expiration date if you were to go straight from Gold AP voucher to Plat+ AP at the ticket booth.

Everything I have read states ticket upgrades have to be done in the park. We activated our gold AP's in May and aren't going back till mid January and i'd love to be able to upgrade them at no cost to Platinum plus AP's but we wont arrive till after the deal ends.

Call WDW ticketing not DVC and try there. They upgraded my pass by phone yesterday after DVC told me it had to be done in person.

If that doesn't work, keep trying.

I won't be in Disney until October and I already have an AP. I'm thinking of just getting the Plat+ AP voucher when I'm there and holding on to it until I go again in the fall of 2018. If I were to purchase a ticket from UT (looks like the best deal is the 6-day hopper w/1 day free) and then upgrade it to a Plat+ AP voucher, I'm hoping that I will get the gate value of the ticket applied to the upgrade. It would save me another $68.

Calling only works when you've purchased the ticket from Disney. They can refund the original purchase and sell you the new ticket. You cannot upgrade tickets purchased from third parties over the phone.

Thanks for clarifying. It was just wishful thinking we could fit in another trip a little sooner.

Just tried calling ticketing and they said no to upgrading on the phone that I need to call MS. I'll keep trying and maybe i'll get lucky. We don't technically need the Platinum plus unless we got a real hot day in January and went to a water park.
