Don't mean to break the rules but...I find your rules kind of crazy. You don't allow anyone to comment on their own particular tipping habits but you detail yours ie. No tipping more than you tithe the Lord nor more than you make an hour. Don't mean to be rude but my guess is you are a lousy tip where ever you are. And yes, I am a server/bartender/manager and now owner.
Tip what you feel comfortable with but try to keep in mind how you would feel if someone paid you little or nothing for your hard work. Trust me...99% of folks could not handle what it takes to be a server.
1) Since I've never done DDP before, just to clarify from the first post, the ONLY place that we do not need to tip would be CRT, correct? We should tip for any other TS restaurant? We will be doing H&V Minnie's Seasonal Dine and something TBD at Epcot.
2) Also, are there any QS restaurants where tipping is typical or do most people tip at both QS and TS at WDW?
1) Most likely, any prepaid event meal - Luau, CRT, HDDR... - includes the tip in the price.
2) Where you order after standing in line, wait for your food, and carry it to your table, no. Unlike many/most fast food and coffee venues, there's no tip jar on the counter either . The few or rare locations where you order at the counter or in advance - BOG, WPE - whether or not one tips is a personal decision.
Not sure if you were responding to me, but I just wanted clarification that tip is NOT included in the bill at TS restaurants (except for Cindy's, where it is included).
Also, for most QS - are there even waiters at these restaurants or do you just order and pick up your food at the counter? I typically would not tip at a restaurant like that (outside of WDW) as they do not staff servers/waiters, but I was just wondering what was typical practice at WDW for a counter service restaurant. Except for maybe BOG or another QS restaurants where they might actually bring your food to your table (if they do that).
Yes.We are a party of 4, in two rooms. One room (of 3) is on the DxDDP; however our credits will cover all 4 guests. Can the guest who is not on the dining plan charge the gratuity for the entire table to his room?
Each Dining Plan account should get its own check. We have a party of 7 but 2 separate dining plans(2 different room reservations) will the 18% be on the total bill for table or for 18% for each dining plan bill?
