2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

My Wife and are foodies and going to F&W for the first time this year. I am hopeful for the food, but have found to often that food at WDW is not up to my taste. Can anyone suggest a go to food at F&W that is something you cannot do without? As a baseline I have tried pulled pork from all around WDW and think it taste like boiled meat and overly dry. Beyond the food, I do know I will be drinking around the world :)

My personal favorites last year were the Duck Confit and Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle. Everything else I had was pretty good (didn't have too much), but those were the absolute standouts for me.

The Pork Belly has been a big hit. I've also always enjoyed the scallops they've served at different booths over the years. They've changed a few of the regular items a bit this year so don't know if they will be better, worse or just as good as in the past. The Filet from Canada is hit & miss because as often as not you end up with an overcooked one. Liked the lamb at Australia but not a fan of the potato crunchies stuff they serve it with, this is one of the items I think they may have modified this year as I think they may have switched to a lower cut of meat based on the description.

Thanks, I will look over the items. My wife is a fan of Duck. We enjoy anything from Mexican to German to Tai so we have an expansive taste. We have planned trip for Memorial weekend, mid Oct and last week of Nov. so I hope to eat and drink everything offered at least once.

As a born and bred southern boy I would be cast out if I did not at least try the pork belly. I have heard good reviews for it. I will pretty much eat anything, enjoying it is another matter. I have only found 3 foods that I will not eat (again), eel, balut and Hakarl

We are pretty much the same. We find that WDW food is mostly a "toned down" version of actual ethnic foods. That being said, we enjoyed a lot of the offerings at food and wine because it seems like they are more willing to go out on a limb here than in the year round offerings.

As an aside, if you haven't tried Sanna, I would highly suggest it. They have some more interesting offerings, and will season to taste if you ask of a lot of things.

We have looked at Sanna and have a plan to try it out. We have enjoyed the charcuterie boards at the Nomad lounge, great place to take a break, eat and relax over a glass of wine. I am a cranky old guy so I need those relaxing moments according to my wife. lol

Last year DH and I loved all the Mexican food choices as well as the chocolate in Ireland. My go to food last year was the grown up mac and cheese (as I call it)! Still working off all those carbs !

I wasn't sure I was going to do any of the seminars this year but I broke down and booked a Champagne one since I love Champagne. I was happy it was still available.

I LOL'd at the Passholder Gift this year. If it was a good one like last years tumbler I was going to take some time away from the day I've got planned for the Magic Kingdom to walk through the Epcot turnstyle and get my 3 times entering but after seeing what it is I won't be bothering.

I got the passholder email also and I LOL'd also. They made it seem like it was such an amazing gift, I think its kind of insulting, my DH was even like, are you serious? Maybe I am being a little to harsh, but Disney has come a long way since my first trip as an adult with kids, and not in a good way. :confused3 Just a little disappointed in how they worded it, I guess. I would have loved a glass to keep, a button, I don't really care for and this comes as someone who wears a lanyard with pins on it.

CONFIRMED: 20% Discount at Joffery's in WDW - AUGUST ONLY

I sent Joffery's customer service the following message:

I'm so happy to find you at WDW this is true icing on my cake and I cannot wait to try all those yummy drinks this fall! My question is about a text promotion I read, unfortunately the article isn’t dated so I was wondering if it’s still valid. Here’s what it said:

Text the word COFFEE along with your email address to 21333. That’s how you’ll receive your mobile discount for 20% off your purchase, as well as Joffrey’s newsletters where you can read about all the latest coffee and tea happenings (plus discounts) at Joffrey’s.”

Their response:

Thank you for your patience, we are still running the Text Promotion but it expires at the end of this month. I am still waiting for a response on your question on the National Coffee Day and I will email you with the information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

The menu states lamb loin chops which is not a bad cut by any means, but is a little less expensive than the rib chops they sold in previous years.

Those rib chops are killer when they serve them during cocktail hour at a wedding; they are like eating meat lollipops.

I just want my visit to WDW to get here already (less than 60 days now!). It's been a stressful, aggravating year so far, and wandering around WS while pouring food and drink down my gullet will make me feel much better.

Right there with you! Except I have 81 days to go!

They've now posted an article saying it will be $65 for eight "coupons." The 16 coupon option doesn't appear to be offered this year. No word on exclusions.

Wow, that's going to be difficult to break even. Do you know if $65 includes tax? That's a break-even of $7.67 or $8.12, depending on tax. There wasn't a single food item that expensive last year, was there?

If I recall correctly, last year 8 coupons were $59 and 16 were $109.
