Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Well we are 4 weeks away from leaving and I am sitting here just counting how many more days I have to work before then ha

Hahahaha. I have 1 hour 7 minutes (not that I'm counting) till I'm off work until the 20th. Spending tomorrow running my long list of errands, finishing packing, and doing laundry. Leaving at 2:30am on Thursday!!!

There is a coverlet on the bed, it's white on white striped. And they provide you with a comforter, it's kept in the dresser cabinet.
Thanks for all the info...did you not have the lotion? Just the shampoo, conditioner and wash?

Um.... honestly I didn't notice. But ... maybe? There were 4 bottles in the shower stall itself.

Does this mean I have to turn in my Woman Card? TBH, toiletries never interested me... lol
lol! I'm just obsessed with the lotion! I can do without everything else, even the water but was counting on that lotion! LOL

Yeah my whole packing list is me thinking about what i want the night before washing it and putting in my bag, ha thats the human male for you

We stayed in 4192, it was a connecting room with a lovely view of a roof... :) We didn't hear much of any noise. I heard a trash compacter or something early morning, but it was quick and didn't really bother me. The room was really nice, it was our first time in a Deluxe resort so compared to POP or AOA it was spacious. It was too bad you couldn't really see the TV from the couch, or desk unless you pulled out the extra table and turned it. Kiddo watched from bed most of the time.

We had lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and two bar soaps (bath and face). They replenished them half way through the trip though the only thing I used was the body wash, lotion and face soap. I did get regular coffee after the first day when there was only decaf. I found there was lots of storage for the two of us. I loved the shower, it was a bath/shower, but the rainfall shower head was so nice. I want one of those! I didn't like the shower doors, though I know they are fancier than a curtain, it was hard to pull the clothesline across. We barely used the balcony, it was a nice view of the buses from out there, so we knew when we had just missed one :) The weather was just too hot and sticky, and rainy a few days. The blackout curtains worked really well which was awesome too.

I'm not sure if we are going back next year or not. We may stay at a monorail resort. We liked being able to walk over to Epcot but we spent more time at Magic Kingdom and the buses took awhile when kiddo was tired. Or so it seemed at least. We only did one day at Hollywood Studios, the boat ride was fine, I don't think I would like to walk that far though! The board at the bus stop started working near the end of our trip. I found it odd that Yacht Club has one multi-stop but at Beach Club there are lines for each of the buses. I was glad it stopped at YC first both on pick up and drop off.

We didn't use the quick service except on the last night when kiddo decided he was hungry just before bed. I didn't like many of the choices, I think we should have gone over to Beach Club as they had more variety. It was one thing we didn't like very much, lack of quick service. We did have lunch at Beaches and Cream one day, it was yummy. People who walked up to sit down had long waits and ate at the counter from what I saw.

I honestly don't think Mickey will ever let me book another vacation ever again. First Matthew last year, and now Irma. Yikes! At least Irma is visiting a couple of days before I get there, while Matthew picked my exact day last year.

How upset do you think they will be if we smuggle some displaced cast members in my room, if they lose their homes? I feel worst for them, than me possibly missing out on a bit of vacation time.

Dealing with Matthew last year, I am familiar with Disney's hurricane policy with delays. I hope I don't get a message not to come at all.

I know this probably should have been placed in the Hurricane thread, but I have always wanted to stay here and now that I am...:/

I am hopping and praying for the best, and that everyone is safe.

So sorry about your vacation, and perfectly ok to post here.

I just came to do the same.

Disney Cruise Lines just cancelled the September 9 Fantasy sailing Teena and I were scheduled to go on.

Safety first.

:(

ETA: I am grateful Disney Cruise Lines made the decision now, rather than later in the week. We had just moved our flights up to Thursday from Friday earlier today to ensure that we would be able to get to the port.

What RayO said about the safety of people who have to live with the consequences of the coming storms!

I just saw this on the DCL Blog. I'm so sorry, but I think it's good that Disney made a decision now instead of waiting like they did with Hurricane Matthew. Bonus, you get 25% off a future cruise. I hope you and Teena can take advantage of it. Can you two plan something else for next week?

I know it's been posted but I don't remember how far back. What is the email address so I can compliment a cast member? When waiting for the safari ride earlier, a cast member asked our 3 year old who he wanted to see. He excitedly answered zebra. I assumed that was the end of that. We sadly didn't see any zebras. Obviously the cast member knew that was going to be the case. He met us at the exit with an adorable zebra stuffed animal for our son! I nearly cried! My son forgot all about not seeing any! Seriously Disney! When I think I can't love it more, the do this. I have to send something about Dhuvari and how he went above & beyond for my son! (I tried to upload a picture but couldn't from my phone.)

Wow, that is really unfortunate timing. :( We were at the Beach Club just before Matthew, checking out the day before they closed the airport. I was really glad that we weren't there when Matthew hit. I hope that Irma is out of there before you check in. One thing I heard was that the weather was great right after Matthew moved on. Maybe that will happen for you. :)

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how nice it would have been to spend a week with Teena. But now you don't have to worry about flight cancellations and a stormy cruise.

I'm sorry that this trip has gone awry.

I have an elderly cousin who has a favorite phrase - something to the effect of "It was meant to be." That's probably a most appropriate thought, at this time.

Just think, you will have more time to pack for a re-scheduled cruise!
