Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

This is my biggest concern, the small closet. We usually stay for 10-12 days. I bring 40 wire hangers and hang all of mine and DH's clothes. For the kids, I use a 6 shelf hanging closet organizer. The three drawer dresser usually holds our undies, pjs and swimsuits. I don't know how a renovated room would work for us.

I've requested a renovated room for our Feb trip. It's only two of us so storage isn't a concern. But I'm curious to check out the room and see how it would work for a family of four on a long vacation.

I would put the organizer on the pull out extension of the hanging rod. I was wondering when I was there if a rubber tipped tension rod would work between the closet wall and the back wall of the cubbies by the sink to add more hanging space. You would probably have to hang lighter weight items on it, but if I could hang shirts on it and then heavier items on the Disney rod, that would help me a lot. I had to use one of my suitcases as an extra drawer for items I would usually hang as my shirts filled the closet area. One of the cubbies is pretty high up (had to stand on tip toes to use it) so a rod at that height would keep things off the counter and out of the way.

I need to see it in person to really understand the layout.

I'm thinking my old faithful routine might have to change. With all those cubbies, it sounds like packing cubes might work better.

Thanks for your input. I'm happy I'm not the only one questioning the storage/closet area.

Not sure. My parents just did their Online Check In and theirs also says room requests on file with no options to choose. They have not made any requests yet. :confused3

Sorry if this has been asked before, but it's our first time staying at Pop. I'm not sure if we'll get a renovated room or not, but I'm worried about bath time for our toddler in the new tubs because of the sliding door. Has anyone had any problems with this or have any suggestions? Thanks!

We stayed at a renovated room last week at CS. They have the sliding glass shower doors. I have 2 littles, and tubtime was a pain. Hated that door.

Can I ask what room number you were in? I'd like to remove that one from my TP fax room selections as it sounds like it has issues! Thanks!
I can check. It was building 9, so 90's. I think I requested 80's but got 90's which was fine because they were both new rooms. I cannot locate my confirm/email so I don't remember the exact room number but we were in 90's, the south side of the building 2nd floor facing the parking lot. I did like the location & they must have fixed that light and mirror by now. :-)

Sounds like me! lol! I bring hangers too. My family of 4 stayed for 14 days. I don't think a 6 shelf hanging organizer would work there. I just don't know why they would make the closet smaller.

There’s something wrong with MDE. My friend who I’m meeting up with at Pop just phoned them because when we were trying to book FP+ a couple of days it wouldn’t let her. Got message that she had her limit of FP for that day, when she hadn’t booked any. Cm thought glitches would be fixed by tomorrow. We’ll see!!

If you click on Show Details it will let you edit all of those options it shows as "on file". But if your TA called in your requests, I'd just leave that part alone.

That's how it's supposed to work. But right now it doesn't do anything.

Was able to do my online check-in today but like everyone else my room request options weren't showing :crazy2:
So I called and was also able to add my Refurbished room request in! The lady I got was SO NICE she really helped me feel how real this trip is!!

I just wanted to share our experiences from our stay at pop. I already shared part of this on the room renovation board but I wanted to a little more to it.

We just returned yesterday from a 9 night stay at Pop.
I had requested either 80's or 90's in hopes of getting a refurbished room. I also sent a fax (through touring plans) requesting room 9137 and in the notes I requested a refurbished room if that specific room wasn't available. And we ended up with room 7332 which was a refurbished room in the 80's! We thoroughly enjoyed the new rooms. It was quite a hike to the buses/food court but worth the refurbished room. We had three adults. My husband and I slept on the Murphy bed and it was perfect. We really never felt cramped in there. We pretty much used it for the basics. Sleeping. Showering. We would take breaks in the afternoon because it was so hot. The only really annoying thing was the computer pool (which was right outside our room) was only open 12-8, sometimes we like an earlier swim. We would have to hike it over to the main pool. I also disliked that all the pools closed at 10. Sometimes we like a swim after the parks and we rarely had time because they closed so early. I had read online that the pools closed at 10 and then they had a "quiet" swim from 10-12 but apparently not. Back to the rooms. we did hit our legs on the side of the beds a few times. But we just had to be a little more aware of it. Plenty of space for our stuff. All in all it was great. Booked a bounce back for December next year :lovestruc

Did you click on “Show Details” and then attempt to edit the room request? Just curious . . .
Yes, nothing comes up in requests

No details come up. I’m going to double check with TA that she attached request.

We requested 80’s although we prefer 70’s, with only possibly one building of 70’s possibly finished by late Nov we thought 80’s would be the safer request. Also don’t know how bad construction noise would be if they are doing construction in other 70’s building. We like to have afternoon break. I hope our room if we get our request isn’t too far a trek. The priority is a new room.

There was some noise. It was nothing that really bothered us though. We also liked the afternoon breaks. But there was still construction workers walking around our building in the 80's, I wasn't sure why since all the rooms are done. But then I noiticed them painting some of the outside. They were working away on building 10

I am having the same issue. When I try to edit my room requests there are no choices there. Did you do online check in and then call to have your requests added? I want to request a refurbished room.

I did do the online check in before, but then I realized I was gonna have to call at some point anyway to request a refurb room anyway so I decided to just add all my requests at once. When I called I asked them to add a refurb room as my top request and an upper floor as my second. I'm sure you can request more than that but I didn't wanna lower my chances of getting a refurb room.

Oh and I forgot we were able to do the gift card offer. 80 dollars for our nine nights. They came on day 3 and took the trash and replaced the towels. Day 5 they did a full clean up and it was perfect. Absolutely worth it for us.
