Ok, so someone help me with the whole "funding a bank account with cc"
I plan to open a checking account with Chase. First for the bonus but also because I'm tired of our current bank, lack of hours, etc. I will set up direct deposit after the account is open, but it takes a few weeks. Can I use a credit card to fund an account at Chase? Can it be a Chase cc? And how exactly do you do it, just tell them you want to charge say $500 on the card to put in the account?

You might want to read what DoC says on this:

FYI, check your Amex Offers for this offer: Get 5,000 additional Membership Rewards® points one-time by using your enrolled Card to spend $99+ on an annual Amazon Prime membership at Amazon.com by 1/31/2018.

Whether you have Amazon Prime already or not, this is a good deal because the chatter on Reddit this morning is that you can buy Amazon Prime as a gift for yourself or someone else (e.g., your spouse), and "If the recipient is already a Prime member, the gift can be exchanged for an Amazon.com Gift Card." So this could easily become a spend $99 on an Amazon gift card, get 5,000 MR points.

HURRY! because good Amex Offers like this fill up fast! I didn't have the offer on my Plat or PRG, but my wife had it on both her AU cards. I was able to add this offer on both cards using the Amex app and web browser at the same time.

Did you see data points that people actually got the credit or at least an email confirmation for buying a gift subscription? No one could confirm that on Slickdeals. I added the offer to my card and my subscription is supposed to renew before the offer expires. I thought as long as you had added it to the card, then you could use it or will it "fill up" before then?

Added a link to the reddit thread with DPs. I thought I saw a DP that said gifting to someone works, but actually no confirmation emails yet. I just woke up and was a little too quick to get the word out. So add this Amex Offer to your offers, but don't go buying a Prime gift membership yet until the DPs roll in. Add it, because yes, as long as it's added to your card(s) you can use it anytime before the expiration date -- even if the offer fills up to the rest of the public before then.

How long before I see a cashback history on BCP? I paid first bill yesterday- still don't see any rewards info (anxiously looking to see what I can apply to next bill)
Anyone? It's been a week, and still no cashback history on my acct page? help....total noob with this card!

And I am not even sure if I could qualify with a renewal. The terms on the offer are contradictory. It says, "spend $99+ on an annual Amazon Prime membership at Amazon by 1/31/2018." But then the actual offer expires 3/2/2018. My prime membership is set to renew on 2/21/2018. Little frustrated because another 5k (or even 10k, since I have it on two cards) points would be great.

Wish they would have a Prime offer on the SPG cards. Our membership renews next month. Just a reason for more cards, right? :rotfl:

I talked with Amex and Amazon. It is unlikely that I will be able to get this promotion unless the gift subscription purchases work. Amex said that my order would have to go through by 1/31/2018. Amazon said that I can't renew my account early. I could cancel my subscription, get a pro-rated refund and then sign up again, but it would cause my other services (Prime Music, Amazon Drive, etc.) to get cancelled as well. That would be a huge headache to get it all back to normal again, so I just wouldn't consider that route. I guess for someone without that many ties to Amazon it could work.

I got the Disney Chase card earlier in the year. I did not get the annual fee version. I recently got a notice saying I had been upgraded to "Signature". I already have a Visa Signature card via my Costco Visa with Citi. Is this the same type thing? I was hoping it was extra Disney perks but I think it is just simply more Visa perks. Does anyone know for sure?

Also when we went to Disney in the spring I didn't get any discounts using my Disney visa. Do I need to do something special to get those? It was our first time going to Disney with the card.

The main discount you will get with your Disney visa at the parks is a 10% discount on merchandise purchases and at some restaurants (total must be $50 or more, pre-tax). However, you usually have to ask for the discount. It's rare that a CM has just offered it to me.

You're right - it is just Visa "perks"

here is a dp i wanted to share about the priority pass that a lot of us received with the csr card. pdx uses alaska lounge and they limit pass to cardholder only. however priority pass has added the capers deli. we used it this weekend $28 worth of food and drinks allowed per pass holder and guest ($56 total). wow. free dinner both ways from pdx. that $450 cc fee less the $300 travel reimbursement + free food when traveling seems pretty reasonable now. they just scan the priority pass card like a credit card. on the way home we picked up salad and sandwiches to go, totals $40 some dollars and they said are you sure you don't want something else, you can spend up to $56 dollars. wow. love freebies.

Once you activate your Priority Pass membership on CSR site, do they automatically send you the card?

that is correct.

Got my dad one for his trip in Croatia, $75 for LAX, 2 people KE lounge, 4 ppl Frankfurt Lounge x2. totally worth it.
I couldnt figure out how to activate it for my dad though, i did SM Chase, they said it comes automatically, which i did get a week later.

I activated it but haven't received it. Must be patient

Latest DPs on SD seem to suggest gifting Prime membership won't work as it's billed differently and doesn't trigger the Amex Offer.

I'm still going to keep an eye for DPs as there's plenty of time left on this offer.

My CSR number got stolen somehow. I used Lyft for the first time last month when we were at WDW (both the Minnie Van service and once, regular Lyft to take my dd to urgent care). I got three charges to my CSR today from Lyft. None were the amounts of our rides last month. Chase sent me an email asking me to verify if they were legit. I clicked they were not. They said I could wait to be called or call, so I called. Getting a new card. I love how on top of things Chase seems to be when it comes to fraud. But this all makes me very leery of using Lyft again.
