Pop Century Room Renovations

If you mean why PP got assigned to 6 and wants to be changed .... they want a renovated room and bldg 6 is still the old rooms.
Okay Thank you that makes sense. I thought building 6 was awful or something. We will be staying for 2 nights in February before we move to BLT so I am trying to follow this thread about the rooms and renovations! What is your best area if you have a standard room? I would like a renovated room but if not that is okay.

Right now there are fully renovated std rooms in 7, 8 , 9 and by time you go 10 should be open. If that is what you really want, I would call and have them add RENOVATED ROOM to your reservation with no other requests. That way they can give you any building they have a room available.

What’s wrong with building 6?? I’m trying to follow and somewhat confused. Thanks

Also, some people are waiting for building 10 to open as they have preferred rooms booked. They are hoping to correlate building 6 closing with how close they are to opening building 10.

If i’ve learned anything about these renovations it’s that as soon as i think I've figured out a pattern, it changes!

I've been watching and reading this post for a loooooooooong time and I just have a few things to say. First is please don't hang your hopes on getting a refurbed room make or break your trip. The new rooms are nice, but again they are not for everybody. The two queen beds was the only reason I wanted a new room. I found in the refurbished room the sliding shower door had issues and wouldn't stay closed and got water EVERYWHERE. I did miss the table because we chose to keep the bed down the whole time, but the extra space on the dresser became very messy. Now that I think about it. I liked the refurbed room, but I would have enjoyed the lakeside of the 60's facing AoA as the views at night are stunning with the fireworks. And they are close to the busses. But don't stress your trip by hanging your hat on a new room. Take the room out of the equation and think about what is most important in a room. Close to buses, top floor, good views. If I didn't have two large guys with me who needed a queen bed for comfort I would have requested the 60's knowing that the renoed rooms will be there when I get back.

Thanks. I know. I keep telling myself that. It won't make or break our trip as we are rarely in the room. But the refurbished room will be a nice bonus.

I just wanted two queen size beds, new mattresses, more bathroom storage, and coffee pot. Those only come in refurbished rooms. The table doesn't matter to me. We've never sat at one.

I don't understand the "view" aspect. There are no windows in the room to the outside except through the walkway. We never leave the curtains open to look out. It's not like a regular resort. You have people walking by your windows. We are in the parks until closing.

60s is mostly Preferred rooms. The standard rooms are a longer walk to Classic Hall. We usually stay in 50s which we like. We aren't doing Preferred this trip though. That's why we want 70s because it's the equivalent of 50s in location, but more chance of refurbished.

I appreciate your pep talk though!

There are still a lot of standard rooms in the 60's sections with views that look over the lake. In those rooms (like the 50's) you just need to step outside your room and you can see the fireworks at DHS and MK. Not sure about Epcot.

THIS!! Let's all be real, we are in Disney on vacation not at home or work - I could sleep on the playground and still be happier than at my desk in the office :)

This is true, and I think its funny that a LOT of people continue to mention that that are hardly at their rooms. I will admit I was there during the hurricane, We were in one of the new rooms and I actually would have preferred one of the older ones. With the bed down it kinda forced you to sit on both the beds. I enjoyed it when I had the option of two beds and a chair. But other then that, yeah I'm barely in the room, but if I do go back it was nice to still be able to catch the fireworks from the resort.

There are certain views from some rooms that are great. Such as if you are in the 60's on the right side on the back back the yoyo, nobody wants to take the stairs to the fourth floor. So we leave our curtains open and during the fireworks at epcot and Hollywood studios you can see them from the room.

Wow, today is 92 days for Building 10.
2 days short of the first building's timeline - pretty sure we had all hoped they would decrease in days as they went. That water damage must have been bad.

Now we wait on what building they close next, seeing as people are reporting check ins to Building 6 - and if they decide to work on more than one building at a time again at any point.

When I walked past bldg 6 last all of the curtains facing the fooseball were open so empty.
