Confirmed: Prices for Tickets and Passes going up on 2/11/2018

I know Disney is in the business of making money but at what point do you think they will slow the price increases? But also, people are still paying the astronomical prices to go... the parks are crowded almost every day. Do we need an economical crash to slow it down? Just thinking out loud more than asking for responses although I’m curious on others thoughts on this...

To be fair, The Signature, Signature Plus, and Premier Annual Passes have not seen an increase since October 2015. When Disney implemented tiered pricing they lowered entry level price from $99 to $95 for a Value Day. They also didn't increase the price for Value day tickets with this round of increases. Also MaxPass price didn't go up either.

Sucks to see prices go up, but it could be MUCH worse.

Well boo. This might be my last year as an AP. Even with it being "just" $100 for Sig+ (and not the $250 increase rumored prior to the official price drop in an earlier post), that's still... Just ouch. Was painful enough paying $989 renewal rate when I've been just using the $779 vouchers...

Wondering if the Sig+ renewal discount is still $60? That would at least take some of the sting out of the $100 increase. As for another increase this year, hopefully not. But I fully expect next year, with the opening of SWL:GE, to be a 2 increase year (just like the year CL opened was a 2 increase year).

ETA: Just saw that the renewal discount is now gone. OUCH!

It looks like Deluxe went from $619 to $729! I'm glad we started our "year of Disney" already. Getting AP's has been a lifetime dream and it will likely only happen once. I was dreaming of the days when AP's cost $299 and wishing those were the current prices, now I'm grateful for $619, and we actually got them for $575 because the LMT discount was bridged. We're having a great time, but likely won't be back for awhile after our passes expire. I'm curious if the annual add-on price for Maxpass will go up. The website still says $75 but that could change by morning.

What do you mean by "bridged"? Thanks!

Do lmt hoppers usually go up soon after? Should I buy now for a trip in June? A little hesitant since the are non refundable.

Yes, they do, but it's hard to know when they'll increase their prices. If you're sure of your trip in June OR you're sure you will be going at some point in 2018 I'd buy now.

It's the situation I'm in. My trip in April will be 'up in the air' until March 1, with no future trip planned this year. I posted upthread that a Disney phone CM told me that third party vouchers to NOT retain their value against a future purchase after expiration (i.e. 1/1/2019). She said that hypothetically if you can scan the voucher into the DL app (so it becomes an 'eTicket') that it would hypothetically retain it's value towards the purchase of a future ticket. Lots of hypotheticals there, aren't there?

So my situation is; Do I want to 'gamble' on spending $242.00 today to save $38.00 (LMT current price discount) not knowing for sure if we're going AND whether or not the ticket will retain value for a future ticket. Luckily, I'm only going 2 days so the price increase for me I'm guessing will only be $16.00-ish if LMT has increased their prices by the time I'm sure. Which I'm sure they will have done.

Wow. I can’t believe how big the increase is for deluxe annual passes. I don’t think I’ll be able to make that work for us. I guess time will tell.
IKR! The only reason we will upgrade to APs is that we are going in May for 8 park days and then in Oct for another 5. If both were our usual 5 day trips I would just buy from LMTC now and save $129. I am sure their (LMTC) prices will also go up but I doubt they will go up that much. This will be the last time we upgrade since we do not do more than 2 trips a year - might have to plan something for early next year to really get my $'s worth.

I bought a LMT ticket yesterday (5-day park hopper) and I'm having trouble scanning it into my app. It scans but when I go to click save I get an error. Just food for tonight, not sure what the issue is.

Just saw this in an email I got from Mouse Savers:

Disney is offering the same mix of tickets and annual passes at both parks, with one big exception: annual pass renewal discounts at Disneyland park have been eliminated, so a renewal annual pass now costs the same as a new pass.

We are out of state AP holders who make about two trips per AP calendar year. As a family of four the deluxe AP’s add $440 to our bill. That is a huge increase. I am really sad about that because that may have priced us right out of being AP holders. I was obviously expecting an increase, but not one that large. I assume we are feeling the effects of Star Wars Land?

Disneyland Daily is reporting MaxPass went up to $20. She has a screenshot of her phone screen on Instagram.
This is from the Disneyland Website:

Disney MaxPass for Annual Passholders
Guests who have a valid Disneyland Annual Passport may purchase the Disney MaxPass feature as an annual add-on for $75 at a Disneyland Resort Ticket Booth or as a daily add-on for $10 through the Disneyland app. The Disney MaxPass feature is an included benefit with the Disney Signature Plus Passport and the Disney Premier Passport.
The cost of the annual Disney MaxPass feature cannot be prorated for Annual Passports expiring in less than a year, and the feature expires when your Annual Passport expires.

I know. We are going in March. We have a 5 day hopper bought for $300. We planned on upgrading on a block out day. Now I’m not sure I want to. Maybe we’ll skip a trip next hear. Or go for 3-4 days. I think I’ll decide after our trip.

I think the AP’s need to increase. Or the payment plan. But I was hoping it wouldn’t be the deluxe pushing us out of the park! It has always been cheaper to buy an AP now it’s only saving $11 from face value.

But I got my lmt ticket for $300. Next year if it goes up another $20 I can get it for $340 presumably. That’s $640. It would cost more to upgrade. Now, should I lock in maxpass upgrade?

That is true. I have a deluxe so I had the $20 increase last year, which was fine with me. $110 this year hurts. Like I said, totally get it from a business stand point. It’s not for crowd control, it’s to stay making a higher profit.

I would have rather seen a monthly payment removal but that’s more probably my motivation of less AP’s (aka lower crowds) than Disney’s.

Changes are suppose to be coming to the AP program later this year. So I wouldn't be surprised to see the monthly payments go away then or change how much you put down at first and how much is financed at 0%.
