Hi guys! I'm back to start day two of our trip. Day two is also our last Disney day unfortunately, but lucky for me I'll be back in Disney exactly 30 days from today!!!
DAY TWO PART 1: HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
Our plan today was to arrive at HS as close to RD as possible, since it was our last day in Disney. Opening was 9 and I had suggested getting there by 8:30 which was great in theory. Unfortunately - well, actually it was a good thing - I had to do some work and because the wifi SUCKED, it took me over an hour to do what should have taken 15 minutes.
I ate a Cliff bar, Cathy ate nothing, and we were at the bus stop by 8:55. Then we watched the time on the screen that shows when the bus is coming for HS get later and later, and we were walking into the park at 9:40. Close to RD, right?
Our first FP was for Rock n Roller Coaster which Cathy had ridden before and likes. *Let me say here that I have Cathy's full permission to post these pictures and on top of that her and I text just about every day, so if anyone who is not a regular reader of mine comes across this and feels the need to complain to someone that I've posted a picture of a person
without their permission........Cathy will yell at you for being a jerk. And if any of you are wondering why I've included this disclaimer here, it's because not everyone on the DIS is cool*
Without further ado, here we are!
Wheeeeeee! I'm having so much fun!!!!!
And speaking of fun, one always thinks of Wappingers Falls, NY when one thinks of great music:
Next was something I could NOT wait for; Cathy's first time riding TOT! I think I wrote this already but, on our TA training trip to Universal last year when we met for the first time, I got Cathy to ride Dr. Doom's Fearfall. She was terrified but she did it! And when we got off I told her if we were ever in HS together she HAD to ride TOT with me to which I received an emphatic NO. Well, once this trip was a definite I repeatedly told her I wasn't letting her get to Universal without riding TOT, and she was very brave and guess what?
She liked it! Maybe not as much as the guy in the red shirt, but she liked it
She even wanted to ride again but the wait was 40 minutes when we got out and I said.....no. Even though it's totally my favorite ride..........no. Waits for everything were nuts and there were absolutely no FP's to be gotten for anything except Muppets and Fantasmic but we had other plans for the night. Since we hadn't eaten we decided to find some QS food which I really wasn't excited about. However on our way Cathy noticed on FB that two fellow agents were heading in the Frozen sing-a-long and since we were about to walk by, we went in. I was fine with this since I've only seen it once and couldn't even remember most of it.
It was cute! Cathy had just seen it in Oct. and wasn't happy that nobody was singing this time lol. We happened to sit right by the other agents so we all said hello (we'd never met before) and THEN we went to find food.
As most of us know, HS isn't known for great QS options. However we had dinner plans and so we didn't want to fill up. I let Cathy pick where we ate and she picked Backlot Express. I don't think I'd eaten there since the boys were small!
We both went with a kids meal but probably the most interesting kids meal on the menu:
Dark Side Chicken and Waffles: Chicken and Vader Waffles with Maple Syrup -
The chicken nuggets were nugget perfection as always as were the fries, and the vader waffle was delicious! This was the perfect little meal to keep us from starving until dinner but not fill us up. I'd definitely get this again, it's probably the best QS meal I've had in HS!
After lunch we were finished with HS since lines were still crazy long and there were still no FP's to be had. Our plans for later were bringing us to AK so we'd also tried to get a decent 4th FP over there for anything and that was a big NOPE. ITTBAB and PW, that was it. I have the worst luck with getting additional FP's after my 3 regardless of whom I'm with but this also attests to how crowded it was this weekend! We even tried MK and Epcot just for the heck of it figuring we'd make a detour either place before AK to ride a ride or two but you couldn't get a FP for anything worth it, so we headed out of HS towards the AK bus stop.
On a wall on our way out we saw this:
It was on a construction wall and shows the path of the Gondolas. Which I will never be riding, FYI.
UP NEXT, DAY TWO PART 2, OUR TIME IN AK!
