Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

So, we're booked for May of 2019 and I had to call in to get my children added to our reservation (2nd time i've needed to do this - but oh well) and the guy on the Reservations line is swearing up and down that there is no way there is a sofa sleeper in the king rooms at the swan. I told him its all over the website and there are photos. He tells me that's all wrong - because his system says differently. So, i'm coming to you all for help to calm my crazy....

Is there a sofa sleeper in a traditional king room at the Swan?
Did you call the resort directly and speak with in-house reservations? They would be the most knowledgeable. T (407) 934-3000
Maybe you need to have them notate your reservation with request for full-size sleeper sofa. The website does say that some King rooms have sleeper sofa. The King rooms I've personally been in have had the smaller sofa, shown in pictures.

FYI: the rooms in this wing (in the photo mentioned) face Epcot and are fireworks view, but I don't think that they face Spaceship earth. They look toward the International gateway across the lake toward the Boardwalk and YC/BC areas. You are able to specifically book a fireworks view room without (or with) the balcony. If you book online scroll down the various room categories and read the descriptions carefully to get what you want. The price is lower without a balcony! Which works for you!:-) YAY!
Be aware that these rooms have a fairly long convoluted walk from the lobby and elevators. However, the view is lovely and a bargain at many Dolphin discount prices.

I LOVE that you can book whatever view/room type that you want at the Dolphin! I would request a high floor for the best view. Enjoy!

Thanks! I did not book a fireworks w/balcony, so hopefully it won't even be an issue. I did put in a request to face Spaceship Earth, but I understand it's just a request, so not a big deal if it doesn't work out.

Does anyone have a picture or link to a picture of the "cribs" in the Swan rooms? We will be requesting one, but want to figure out what type of sheets we need to bring (crib sheets or pack-n-play sheets)... and we are aware that sheets are provided, but very much prefer to use our own for the crib/pack-n-play.

These may be helpful.

heading back to the Swan next week, thanks to some priceline magic! :cloud9: this will be my third stay there, second for SO, and first time either of us will be there longer than 2 nights (5 nights this time). we adore the Swan and all of its lovely amenities, as well as the IG entrance to Epcot and walking to HS -- very excited!!!

if anyone wants pictures taken of X or needs Y questions answered while there, let me know and I'll do my best to report back :magnify: (though it seems that with the wealth of information in this thread, there can't be many unknowns left!)

I’m interested in how you scored a Priceline deal/for when. I’m super new to Hotwire/Priceline/orbitz. I missed the Hotwire deal and have been kicking myself daily.

Hope you have a fantastic trip @earfulofmagic. :)

Thank you! I'm determined to finally take one of the swan paddleboats out on a complimentary spin - missed it last time! :boat:

Silly question - we booked our package throuch Costco, so can we pick up our park hoop tickets from inside the Dolphin or will we need to do that at the park? The will call certificate just lists the parks.

Hey @DreamDisneyGirl we were able to activate our AP certificates last month at the Swan Disney desk. Should be the same at the Dolphin or worst case a short walk over to the Swan Disney desk.

They were actual Disney cast members at the counter and they offered all the services available from Guest Services even including purchasing the basic colors of MagicBands, activating tickets, buying tickets, and ticket upgrades. It saved us an extra trip to the International Gateway on our first evening to get our APs activated.

We talked about taking a Swan boat out, but my nephew was afraid he’d be the one doing all the pedaling. LOL!

I wanted to take the little ones to the S’mores roast, but we didn’t get around to doing that either.

That’s the thing about going to Disney World—there is so much to do that you can never do it all. So you just say next time...

You can also order some Magic Bands (if you like the idea) and link your tickets to your MB's before you get there. Easy as pie. You can then ask the Disney Desk to verify your MB's have all of the info set up and ready to go if you want further verification. You can also buy MB's at Swolphin gift shop (s) and link them when you get there. Both scenarios mean no need for tickets unless you just want them.

But yes, the Disney Concierges are stand alone desks with cm's. Outside of never answering the phone when I called during operating hours, my face to face interactions with them were as top notch as you'd expect.

Thanks for the info. I never thought about the idea of buying magic bands so I could link the tickets in advance. I was thinking there wasn’t that much of an advantage, but this adds just one more advantage!

You don't need Magic Bands to link tickets, you link tickets to MDE and then you also link a magic band to MDE if you buy one.
Either the plastic card (ticket media) or MB can then access the info/fp from your MDE. The Disney GS at the Dolphin can issue your plastic ticket media before you head to the parks if you don't want magic bands.

The only thing a MB will do for you at the Dolphin is park admission, fp+ access and MM most of which the park pass can also do. (The only thing it doesn't are the automatic downloads of some ride pictures and videos IIRC)

Decided to go with the magic bands after reading all the info provided (thanks everyone!). We purchased the MM PhotoPass and I read another post about the ride photos. Seemed easier having our 8year old scan his wrist then keep taking out the card to scan.

Cool - you still have to link your tickets, just to clarify from the above post :)

How far ahead do you folks think I should contact the Swan in order to try to secure a two-queen room. We are four and I would like 2 queens and want to do whatever I can to ensure this. So again, when should I call to ask about this. We plan to be there on the 18th of November and leave on Thanksgiving. Thanks in advance for your help on this, folks. :)
