Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I wish I were there to give you a personal report, but since I'm not, I find the WESH forecasts to be fairly accurate. Enjoy your stay!

Thanks. It looks like the typical hot with a chance of thunderstorms depending on where you are standing at the moment. ;) I'm just happy not to have a tropical storm or hurricane. I'm also happy to take the grandsons back to Disney. It will be their first time at the BC since they were babies, which they don't remember. :)

This is just our second full day, but it’s been typical. Last night, it rained for about 30 minutes around 6:30, but otherwise just humid. We’re used to coming at the end of August or January, so it’s more crowded than we’re used to. It’s doable, though, so we’ve had a great time so far.

Are the boats running to/from DHS yet?
Latest public information:

Beginning June 4, 2018 until approximately June 23, 2018 Disney's Friendship Boat service is only available to Epcot, Disney's Boardwalk, and Disney's Yacht & Beach Club resorts and Swan / Dolphin. Bus service will be provided to Disney's Hollywood Studios during this time.

The quiet pool was still open today, but there was clearly work going on around it - I think to the balconies. People were still swimming though. Both pools are closed at the moment for a thunderstorm. The only hitch has been the closing of pathways and exits. There’s really no way to know until you turn the corner and see the exit blocked up. Right now, my best advice is to go in and out of the lobby. At least you know those doors are open! The staff have all been lovely here. One kid is down with a migraine, but other than that we’ve had a great start to the vacation.

They were using those bucket lifters when we were there in April. They were working on the building along the walk between Y & B, near Beaches & Cream & the building near the volleyball court. They were patching the wood & frames & doing touch up painting. We saw them, but it was not noisy at all.

Mine has changed (again :o)

Got it!

So last December, our DS & DDIL vacationed with us & we stayed at CBR, per her request. She hadn't been to WDW for over 10 years. We of course visited Y&B, checking out the Christmas decor. They had dinner at Ale & Compass & she loved YC. Of course, our DS has stayed there many times with us when he was young. Well, she just couldn't get Disney & YC out of her mind. Monday, Southwest dropped their fares from our city for September flights. I got a text from her Monday night asking about YC & BWI. (You now which 1 I recommended!). By 10 yesterday morning, they were booked for a 5 night stay at YC & will overlap our trip for 2 days! :cool1::cool1:

Took her only about 12 hours to get the idea, research, get vacation time approved from their jobs & book everything! We were texting all day yesterday as she was planning & linking everything. She was so excited she was just bouncing around. :jumping1: She cracked me right up! Told her she was a real member of our family now that she has the Disney & YC bug as bad as DH & I do! And I am beyond thrilled that we'll be together for some days. She's already thinking about bounce back reservations for 2019 dates too! :rotfl2:

That is fantastic!!!

:dogdance:

Hi Dee, we’ve moved to YC CL for 9/30-10/4.:)

I'll make the update to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Hi everyone!
4 days until we check into POR and 10 days away from our first time at the Yacht Club! Super excited to fall in love with a new resort. Thank you to everyone for all of the wonderful tips and advice.

June 16-23 :)

:welcome:

Sorry to be so late with the :wave2:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for June.

::yes::

Hi all!

Adult daughter and I staying at the YC from 9/8 - 9/13. First time staying on property and very excited!!! I requested ground floor as close to the BC side as possible (we booked a garden/woods view). For those familiar with the layout, does that sound doable?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Yes, that is (somewhat) doable. Since the lobby and restaurants/Marketplace are closest to the Beach Club, the nearest garden/woods view rooms on the ground floor would be some of the rooms overlooking the wedding gazebo.

Dee, can you take me off the Be Our Guest list for October please?

The new passholder fall room offer was finally released today, and there were no discounted rooms at BC (or YC or BCV) for our October dates. So, what we had was our rack rate standard view BC room that we'd booked back in January. But, playing around with the bookings pages, I was able to modify our booking to one of those huge BW garden view club level cottages for only $200 a night more than that BC standard room. While I'll miss BC, we've still got a Christmas trip and likely two or three trips in 2019. Since those BW cottages were on my bucket list, I just had to jump on it. Very excited, in that "I'll miss BC" bittersweet kind of way...

We just returned from Yacht Club vacation June 2-10. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our time stay. The hotel room was very updated. We stayed lake/lagoon view. I called ahead of time to request the type of room not a specific number. We use snacks for breakfast on the DxDP. We found the Market at Ale and Compass to have good pastry and healthy choices in the cooler. We especially loved close proximity to excellent restaurants. Spent a whole day at the pool! Awesome trip!!!

Anyone know the locations of the 1 BR suites (not villas at BCV) at BC?
OK since I can't find any real pictures to markup, here are the locations of the 1 BRs with CL Access on the BC Map. There are a mix of Juliette/Full balconies and of course the 1st floor rooms have a patio. If anyone want to share pictures of this section of the BC building that might show these areas, I would be happy markup real pictures vs this map below. It always helps to use pictures to indicate the Mini-Juliette balconies.

Note: Special room 1501 is a 1 BR. It is near the corner of the BC building nearest to the path to Epcot aka the "Secret Entrance".

ETA: Added 4647 which was missing on original map.

From 2012

I'll try, but my sense of direction and map-reading skills are HORRIBLE, so I could have this wrong!

I think the corner rooms in the picture are the X647 block of 1BR suites at the Beach Club

DSCF1102 - resize.JPG

Note, this picture is from 2014, I don't think this large bush is in the courtyard anymore.

I'm trying to find a picture of the front façade of the resort showing these rooms, but So.Many.Pictures! (ETA- found one from the Friendship Boat, posted above)

This is a picture of the gate to the "Secret entrance/exit" of the Beach Club.

Again, I believe the corner room in this picture are rooms 1501 and 2501, which are 1BR suites.

If I am wrong about this I will take no offense at being corrected!
