This would be the title of my trip report if I ever spent days on a beach! :rotfl2:
My brother told me met someone who was mountains > beaches. (He's really disappointed being a beach person but I told him there's hope because apparently she's never been west of the Midwest.) Oh, and just so you know, you are 100% wrong. Nothing beats basking at the beach for a couple days- except basking at your over-water bungalow ;)

As for our bored and burned by lunch @wendow , they make sunscreen for that now  and the boring part- I think you just have to keep trying beaches until you find the right one for those worried they'll be bored, it'll be a sacrifice checking out all those exotic beaches but take one for the team :cheer2:

I just used Coupon Cabin for $75 off a $75 Aeropostale purchase. This was my first time snagging an offer. It shows up in my account due to be paid out to paypal sometime in August.

Thank you for sharing. I was so worried because it seems to good to be true I should see my money pending in three days.

Does your DH likes a lot of fizz? I am asking because we bought one for my husband how only drinks plain sparkling water, no flavor. He loves the fizz and we would go through the tank very often. He had to “pump” the fizz many times for his liking and we ended up stopping after a few months because it ended up way more expensive than the store bought one and the fizz would not last as long either.
I'll ask him that. That is good info to know!

And I also worry that he'd make a bottle then dump half or more because it would lose the fizz...

We drove to Jerome too while staying in Sedona - just a neat town - loved it! Highly recommend!!
I want to go back, and stay in the haunted hotel they have! Did you go to the Gold King Mine Museum junkyard? That place was amazing!

Every summer I have a work conference located at a big touristy beach area. We have one afternoon free and our conference hotel is at the oceanfront, so DH and I always go to the beach for the afternoon. About four hours of that and we're done lol. It doesn't matter if it's the beach or the mountains though, we just don't like to sit still. That's probably why we like Disney so much. If we don't come back from the vacation absolutely exhausted from doing everything we could while we were there, then it was not a successful vacation :rotfl2:

When I try to set car payments on plastiq, it defaults to the rent/real estate category based on the bank name and then it says mortgages are not eligible. Car payments are okay though, correct? If so, should I chat the support team?

I had this problem too recently. I haven't decided what to do about it. Given my recent issues with Plastiq, I really don't want to reach out to support. Curious to know what you end up doing.

We are thinking we will stay a night in Vegas on our drive to CA. My dh has been there for a work conference, but the kids and I have never been. We aren't taking to do anything other than just see the strip. Can anyone recommend a hotel for us? I'm not sure it makes sense to stay on the strip since it will be so short. Either need a place that sleeps 6 or is not too $$ so we can get two rooms. I looked at the Palazzo cause I have ihg points, but even though the room has two queens and a double sleeper sofa, it says it only sleeps 4 :confused3

Thats tough. I think you might be stuck paying for 2 rooms. You might want to call the Palazzo and/or Venetian directly and ask them about how many you can put in a suite. We used a free night at the Palazzo and then paid cash to upgrade to a larger suite. The room was huge with a pull out sofa bed (see the hotels thread for pics). They also brought us a rollaway. You could easily get away with 5 people. Not sure if they would bring a second rollaway for you or not.

Now DH was all ready to jump off a cliff and order a Soda Stream the other night, but I insisted on waiting for a deal... Now it can be 20% off plus $20 AMEX credit. That would make it $52 instead of $80.

Though I'm still on the fence about if he'd use it... :scratchin Anyone have any thoughts on Soda streams, or a way to sort of try one out? :confused3

You could do this . . . https://www.frugalwoods.com/2014/08/11/how-to-cheap-homemade-seltzer-with-a-modified-sodastream/

Love these people!

If you do Verizon Up rewards, there's a free $5 Lowe's gift card to claim. If you're using your Lowe's AMEX offer on actual items, might as well get an extra $5 off!

I wonder if they'd look at me oddly if I just bought a couple candy bars... :rotfl2:

I showed DH that. I love their blog! That was my first thought when he mentioned a soda stream

why is the new Amex announcement so dire? I don;t like last weeks notice of 'we may deny you for random reasons' but the new one seems like a good thing...wish it was in place before I got my last cc to see if I will qualify under their random rules...
My concern is that the change in language could have just been a (mostly) empty threat. This addition to the application process shows an investment in IT on some level and indicates they mean business about implementing a real change. The days of “are you breathing...you’re approved” with AMEX may be drawing near an end...

New to this board, but been reading it for a day or two so I know you guys are the people to ask. Long story short, I applied for a CSR card last week (before I saw this board) and they said they would let me know by mail. I guess that means I was denied. The main problem for me is that I live overseas, at least I think that is the problem. All of our bills are now mailed to us through a US address though, so I don't know if that would make a difference. We have stellar credit, but I do not have my own income, as I am a stay at home wife. I guess what I want to ask is, is it even possible for a SAHM to get a CSR while living overseas, even with stellar credit and no debt?

We travel A LOT and being able to rack up mileage would be wonderful. We have an old AMEX Delta card that we purchased a few US flights with for the summer, but we really need to flexibility of a card that we can use while overseas and to purchase flights on overseas carriers. Any extra advise you guys could give me would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I’m new to this too but I also applied for CSR a couple of weeks ago. I called the number few times to check the status and it said my app was still under review. However, I just checked my mail yesterday and there was a letter from chase asking me to call and verify my app.(It was dated like a week ago but I don’t check everyday). It said that if I did not call within 10 days my app would be cancelled. Anyway, I called and was approved over the phone.

I just checked in for my flight tomorrow and was planning on having to pay to check a bag. I have the Jetblue CC, but supposedly you have to book the flight with the card in order to get the free bags, and I had booked this prior to getting the card. When I checked in, it said that each of us can check a bag for free! I love credit cards!!

stupid move of the week(for me) I am TRYING to hit MSR on AmexBiz.... paid for two larger thing last week and thought I was $600 closer to spend...:furious: Went over my bank stuff today ( I do it weekly) and realized I accidentally put all the charges on my older HH card..... so annoyed at myself (1st world problems for sure)

I grew up doing beach vacations with the family every year...now I like to actually see and experience new things when I travel. I definitely do not like to lay around and do nothing. I actually work for a company that makes major brands of sunscreen and I have enough for five lifetimes. But, I'm so pale I'm see-through. I'll burn using SPF 50+. :sunny:
So you can have the beaches, I'm all set!

Yes, I'm only happy when I return from vacation feeling like I need another vacation. :rotfl:

@peel...I am also see-through as well. I love the beaches! But - I go out at sunrise or just before and I'm back in by 10am. (Doesn't mean I'm out 4 hours either.) Getting too much sun is not an option. I once got burned so bad while tubing on the Frio river in Texas, I couldn't stand up. It was my legs - I had a shirt over my swimsuit that covered the rest of me. It was so much fun while doing it but oh so painful afterwards.

I keep a beach chair and an umbrella in the jeep all the time. But I've learned not to let the sun have its way.

Quick question - Marriott Business card - the 75 k/free night one - does this card have a referral offer?

Oh then I should also mention that I'm NOT a morning person. :cat: :faint: No rope drops for this girl!

Oh gosh- if I worked around sunscreen brands all day I wouldn’t want to see one on vacation at all!

I have met my spend and bonus posted on Amex SPG Business a couple weeks ago. I do not have a minimum spend and I am trying to be good but it is making me sad. I am also on the waitlist to buy a small direct DVC contract and it would be awesome when that came through to put the spend on a card and meet it all at once!

DH (player #2) wants to take a break for a bit on his cards. Which is fine since I plan on getting him the new Chase Ink Business Unlimited but want to space it out for a while since this will be his third Chase business card and we just got the CIC at the end of April. I think Amex doesn't like him (all my drama with his bonus posting on the Delta Amex business) so I want to stay away from them.

I am tapped out with Chase right now. I think it was a minor miracle I got the CIP. Before I even consider applying again I figure I need to wait about 6 months, be 3/24, and lower some credit limits.

Should I try to pull the Amex Platinum offer now for 100,000? Maybe wait a bit until the fall? I know @Lain talked about that it makes more sense later on in the calendar year. I have not ventured into Amex MR's at all. I want too but also don't want to push my luck with Amex.

I am intrigued by the rumored Barclaycard 60,000 Arrival Plus. I had the first version years ago but cancelled it when they changed some of the redemption rules on it. Should I maybe just try applying for it when it drops in a couple weeks?
