I love credit cards so much!

I was able to quote this one for some reason. Sorry guys, I’m on my phone.

Anyways, I think it’s just a glitch in the United system. All of my emails from United show my ticket as FirstnameMiddlename Lastname. I just checked the United ticket for my mom and it also shows her name that way. I know all the tickets were booked correctly, so I think it’s just something the United formatting does to it.
I’ve seen something similar when booking AS via UR portal. Never had issues. I just tweet AS to add my FF number and it all matches to my TSA stuff fine.

Did you call and ask them to waive the fee? I actually forgot to pay a Amex card for the first time a few months ago (I think when I was in the Bahamas) I chatted with them asking to waive the fee and they did.
I didn't think to really... Last time I went rounds with AMEX and got turned down, and I felt it was way more legitimate because I had closed my checking account and opened a new one with Chase instead, and it was for my SPG which I wasn't using much any more at the time, and when I submitted my payment I forgot I hadn't updated my bank. They turned me down multiple times for that.

I'll give Chase a shot though, maybe they'll be nice...

Booked a cruise with NCL to Bermuda next year. Paid the deposit on CSR and will transfer to Chase to pay balance with UR. I was looking into third party travel insurance but it looks like CSR has everything I need. My health insurance reimburses for all expenses outside the country and CSR has trip delay/cancellation and medical evacuation. Am I missing anything? Have you purchased separate travel insurance and if so, why? Thanks!

Called SW and asked about a retention offer for my Premier. He said my account has an offer for $50. I told him I needed to think about it. I want the whole $100 like others got :( Not sure if HUCA works here or if there really is only $50 on my account.

I can't decide if keeping it open makes sense. I was hoping to have my dh double-dip SW cards later this year to try for CP but if the bonuses don't increase, I'm not sure we will try.

Hmmm, I'm surprised since it seems the Premier offer lately has been $100. I got $35 for the Plus and two out of three calls they said the same thing...$35 offer on my account and nothing else they could do (first call the rep tried to talk me into canceling). I kept the Plus. I will be calling in September about the Premier. If I don't get the $100 offer, I am canceling.

Anyone know if Chase cruise and tours can book an ABD trip? They are wayyyyyyyy out of my budget, but maybe if I could stock pile URs I’d love to take one. I’m assuming since Chase just books through the Disney website it would be possible. I’d also love to use URs to book a Disneyland Paris package.
I’d give them a call and ask. Odds are that they might be able to but whether they know how idk. My reasoning is they can book DCL and theme parks direct with Disney so they appear to operate as a Disney TA would and Disney TAs can book ABD.

Regarding the new Rapid Rewards Priority card, I got an offer of 5,000 RR to upgrade and make a purchase by Sept 30.

Are you going to do it? They just charged my annual fee so if I get that refunded I will upgrade, but if I don’t and the new annual fee posts right away idk.

I was looking into flights from DEN-OGG over spring break next year and for the exact same itinerary I got the following prices, rounding to nearest dollar.

$853 cash OOP on united .com
78000 UAs + $11 on united .com = $791 cash equivalent if I had to transfer URs to UA
68200 URs thru CSP UR portal = $682 cash equivalent
62800 URs thru CSR UR portal - $628 cash equivalent (for some reason this is not 1.5x, I think that's bc the CSR UR "priced" this ticket at $942)

I don't know if this is a general pattern. But the CSR redemption is $225/pp less than buying direct from UA, and it's $54 less than the CSP redemption.

I was surprised too. After reading on here, I was expecting $100. I will probably cancel also.

Are you sure you aren’t seeing Basic Economy seats somewhere in there?

Never heard of someone trying that tbh. As long as it’s refundable (be very careful about that! I get confused on the their portal sometimes about that) I don’t think you have anything to lose.

Thanks...the portal is very slow not sure if it’s always like that.....but ugh it’s time consuming looking at hotels. And frustrating trying to book...I click on a room to book and get a message the price has gone up :(

I’m being very careful about only looking at refundable rooms since our first choice is our son being able to fly home for Christmas...I’ve got him book on SW miles...but he will not know for a few months he just changed jobs so low man as far as time off.
If he can’t we are going to Orlando 12/19to 12/24 to see him...we were going to go 12/25 to 12/30 but the hotel cost was crazy .

I was just debating the same thing. I just paid the fee (less the $35 credit), so if I get charged the $149 on top of that then I don't think I will do it.

I hope come fall when several of us plan to double dip SW to get the CP early next year, that it's still possible. These low bonuses are not looking good right now.

Does anyone remember when SW came out with the 60,000 bonus last year....I double dipped then so we are set with the CP until 12/31/2019..but watching for a friend

im pretty sure they are going to lose a lot of money on the hawaiian flights due to CP. Seems like a lot of people are getting CP for that. The easy Californian one expires end of the year, we dont see any Hawaiian flights until next year. Its the perfect ploy!
hence all the changes happening to it. That is just my guess.
