Congratulations?! :cool1:

A few people here have gotten the second pop up message. Fortunately, the DPs suggest this blacklist is not permanent, but rather dynamic and you can get off it by putting spend on your Amex cards.

I haven’t had the “unprofitable churner” pop up yet, but I’m nervous about the next time I or my wife applies for an Amex. I’ve got 8 open Amex cards (2 of which I’m working on MSR), and my wife has 2 open Amex cards in her name, so splitting our spend sufficiently across 10 Amex cards is kind of stressful.

ETA: I’ll need to cancel some of these cards next year, but mindful that the number of cards closed could also land me on the blacklist.

I received the popup a few weeks ago when trying for a Delta biz card. I've been trying to put some spend on my 2 Amex biz cards (SPG and Hilton), but also put spend on my Chase biz cards (Marriott and SW) since I'm planning on going for the CIP in Nov, and also on my husband's CSP because I'd like to increase our UR's, all while trying to not spend too much money to save for a small DVC add on. :confused3 I was thinking I might try again for an Amex biz card after my statements close tomorrow. Not sure if that matters or not but figure it can't hurt. Although I kind of am dreading seeing the popup again. Actually I've been contemplating if I was able to get past the popup I MIGHT see if I could go for the 100k Amex plat biz offer to use for the DVC addon, which would be around $6500 toward the MSRP which would make it actually doable for me. We'll see... sorry, that was kind of a rambling post!

Pick a card, any card! :P (where's the magic trick smiley when you need one)

There's a bunch, where do you usually buy gift cards? There's cards with higher cash back for grocery purchases, other's that have rotating categories each quarter like Discover it and Chase Freedom, some for office supply stores... well you get the picture :) So depending on where you typically buy your gift cards, some cards are better than others for that purchase.

I know people like when Warehouse club categories come up because Sam's and Bj's both sell discounted gift cards, so you get 5% cashback from using the credit card on top of the 3-5% the club discounts them.

I'm somewhat of a weirdo and a super fast reader, but I definitely read close to 700 pages (or more?) of posts as far back as 2016 just a few weeks ago. For me, I was interested in seeing the HOW of utilizing points for trips as opposed to new credit card bonuses/rules, etc. I was sure to read the most recent 75 pages or so before I commented.
Lol I read the whole thing from the beginning and it took me around 2 months. I was so clueless and I tried to read as much as I could before really getting my feet wet, but I also had no idea how fast this game changed and how what I was reading did not apply anymore:crazy2::sad2:

Thank you so much for checking that! Sorry, just checking in after being at the hospital all day. Yeah I keep seeing all the great deals for an extra day at the park, but unfortunately I don't see anyway for us to make it happen.
I was in the same boat :( Hoping to go back one day and take advantage of the extra day offers. ...TBH the only stuff I truely love at The Dark Side is Harry Potter and Dudley Do Right Falls- hey, it’s a freaking awesome ride and as kids my bro & I thought Dudley Do Right was the coolest cartoon ever despite only having one VHS cartoon of him :rotfl2: some happy memories just stick forever apparently. If I had kids Dr Suess would be included in the list. As for the roller coasters I grew up going to Magic Mountain... BUT my fam fell in absolute love with RPR so I think someday RPR + cheap/free park days will make a nice chill few days for us all. Alas as I said that was not an option last trip to FL and we aren’t even going to The Dark Side this trip at all. Only so much vacay time & budget! (Even when you got the time & the park ticket is free you gotta eat & sleep somewhere and I admittedly have some standards there ;))

Ok - I'm back with some Ultimate Rewards & Rental Car questions...(I rent a car once every 2-3 years :drive: sooooo this one isn't my area of expertise :teacher: :scratchin). Here's a few scenarios I'm looking at for our Sea World trip in November, thoughts on if each would work?

1) I currently have an Alamo reservation in my name. I am not an AU on my wife's CSR...can we use her card to pay for the rental or will that get denied due to my name on the reservation (i.e. I need to use a card with my name on it to pay)? I did not add her as an additional driver when I made the reservation initially. I guess if necessary, I could make a new reservation with her as the primary and me listed as additional driver...

2) If I wanted to reserve a rental car using my Wife's UR points on her CSR...can I make the reservation with ME as the driver? OR does it have to be in her name, OR could I add myself as an additional driver there?

Basically - I'm either trying to use our CSR travel credit OR our UR points to pay for this car :car:. Wife has the CSR, I am not an AU, and she will DEFINITELY not be driving us around Orlando...how do I navigate that one?

Thanks friends!! Any thoughts and feedback are welcome.

We decided we won’t be going to wdw in December. Neither of us REALLY wanted to go and we didn’t want to go for a whole week so it just didn’t seem like we could do the trip justice with all of the Christmas stuff going on. We are gonna see if frontier has those cheap flights to anywhere else.

I am ready to sign up for a Chase Ink Business Preferred card, and like any good DISchurner, I am trying to use a referral link from r/DISchurners. However all of the links give me the popup below. Is it OK to proceed? Do you all need to update that referral link?

My understanding is that your DISchurner friend will still receive the points despite that message. (I'd guess somebody else here will echo that comment too if you want to wait for a second confirmation).

We took DD on her first trip to Disneyland at 3 months. She’s probably been back 20 times since. Traveling with a newborn is way easier than traveling with a toddler! (But newborns also tend to need more “stuff.”)
@Haley R
Newborns are great to travel with. If they are b-feed is even easier.
I went back home to Brazil (20hrs) by myself with my then 6 months daughter and it was supper easy but she is now almost two I she is a little terror :scared::love:

But someone else commented that kids are almost free until the turn 3! I am trying to take advantage of that as much as I can!

Can confirm. You’ll get the bonus you see on the redirected screen, and the person whose link you used will get credit. :)

Haha thanks. We’ll have to see how we feel after having a kid. If I can convince grandma and grandpa to come then I’d probably do it!

Pretty much the only ones you should avoid when consistently buying gift cards are US Bank (absolutely avoid for buying gc) & Amex (some gc seem to be ok, but tread lightly). Since you want it long term make sure there is no annual fee.

This summer I rented a car from Alamo through Costco. It was in my name and I used my CSR. When DH and I picked up the car, I told them I should get a free additional driver since I used Costco. The woman told me my SPOUSE would automatically be authorized to drive it AND I could have another free additional driver through Costco.

i may have missed it but someone on reddit posted that Disney is going through a revamp of their system so it could be the reason why its down at Chase.
@SouthFayetteFan comment it, not sure why he hasnt posted it here... unless i missed it.

hang on to your pants tight guys!

When I book Pop Century a few weeks ago using UR by calling the cruise and tours both TA that I talked to had problems booking my hotel stay through the website. Everything would go through but in the end they would get an error.
When I called Disney they could see all the reservations I had and that they were all on hold for me for 3 days, but the TA had to call to finilize the reservation. But the weird part is that I even had an confirmation number!
Disney website has been acting up worse than expected!

I would guess they don’t care whose name is on the card. I don’t have first hand knowledge of this, but most places don’t even see your card, you just stick in the machine. And since she will be with you it should be fine. When you go through the travel portal it asks for the travel profile of the person getting the car so you should be able to put your info there. Some states let spouse automatically be added for free. Some companies let spouse add for free. It’s always confusing.

Hi there! I have read almost every post on this thread since it began, I just don’t often have time to post!

Rental cars - I just reserved for my husband, in his name, using my points from my CSR. It was totally fine, he picked it up no problem. (I had used points for the majority of the charge but also used the CSR to cover some it also). He then presented a different card at pick up for incidentals etc because I needed my CSR with me, and they were totally fine with that. I called ahead to make sure but it was no problem. This was last week with Enterprise, but I would assume most would work the same way.

They DID say that the card he presented at pick up needed to match the driver’s name. So in your first scenario, if you are not pre paying with her card ahead of time, you probably could not be listed as the only driver but then pick up the car trying to pay for it using her credit card, unless she were also listed as a driver.

I always rent through Costco because it is consistently cheapest and additional driver free. Even if your wife doesn’t plan on driving I figure it is nice to have the option in case something comes up. Only time I have ever have it be an issue of whose reservation the name is under is when I have done the Alamo Fastbreak program. That’s where you sign in online (go through insurance waivers etc) and then can bypass rental counter and just get car. When you do that the online system is set up that the card has to be in the name of the person who made reservation. But that just mean you make reservation on wife name and wife card but you can be driver pulling out and handing paperwork (since you are additional driver). If you don’t do that and just pay when arrive I don’t think matters. Just make sure you use the Reserve and don’t get additional insurance.

Ugh about not booking Disney with cruise and tours! Was going to buy some park tickets through them. Guess I’ll see how it pans out in the next few months since we aren’t going until Feb.

Woke up to some really good RMN deals:
$10 off $25 at Walgreens and CVS

$10 off $20 at Staples, Home Depot, Kohl’s and Macy’s

Also an AMEX offer for $10 off $50 at Sams
