I love credit cards so much!

I got the SPG business card on April 18. They say that I didn't meet the minimum for the bonus and they won't budge on it. I got the personal Chase Marriott in April 2017 and closed it April 2018 to avoid the annual fee. I wanted to get more Marriott/SPG points. Do I have any options? I haven't been keeping up with the changes regarding Marriott/SPG cards. I am hoping to not get any new personal cards right now. Thanks.

Oh my goodness! What a mess. I can't imagine my DH if this was us. He'd come unglued. I'm so sorry! I have also booked magical rates before without issue. We can cross our fingers that maybe the chase thing is temporary due to 3rd party tix at least.
Crossing my fingers over here! GF was so upset that we weren't able to get into MK the last morning because the GR line was easily 1-2 hours long. We weren't going to waste our last day on vacation in a line just to get our tickets fixed, and had FP for FOP later that day.

Luckily we were able to get into MNSSHP without issue and see MK, because without that we wouldn't have seen MK at all.

remember, it needs to go through Chase Pay for it to count. here is a link

u get 3x via gyft.com checkout with paypal. sams club sells disney gift cards at 5% off. Combine them, 8%. if u have a CIC, then 10%. this is cash returns though, if u put it through with CSR, then the it multiples up. it just depends on how u value them.

It looks like you can split it over multiple transactions to equal max of $200....
so, if combining with Swagbucks, you'd want to do 2 $100 transactions over 2 different days to get 1500 SB (instead of 750).

However, I am reading the doc comments and someone says it IS targeted as he was told on 9/15 and he didn't get his 5x extra URs. I'm confused b/c doc says it isn't targeted.

i think its due to all the points hold up. it does say to wait a couple of weeks for the points to show up. "will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement and be available for use within 1-2 billing cycles"
DoC says its a public offer because its posted on chase.com . If its an targeted offer, it would say for targeted members only on the fine print on the bottom. Which leads DoC to believe is a public offer.

hope that explains it for you.

We actually do have a Disney trip coming up. So if we go to Walgreens which card should I be using (cip or CSR)?

I see this has been answered but either of those cards will code as x1 at Walgreens.

For RMN, you have to link the card, then use that card to buy the gc (I think you would have to do a $25 Disney and get $10 back via RMN). Best case scenario, it posts within a couple of days and you can link that offer again. Up to 3 times per month/or offer period. So, if you hit that a few times plus add in Staples, home depot, etc., you are getting some great discounts but it takes a little work and time.

If you want to do a discount in one swoop, the Best Buy route is probably better. Make sure you use SB to earn even more.

I did get confirmation from someone in Cruise and Tour that this would be permanent.

"I do apologize it is going to be a permanent change as far as we know. Chase has a Disney credit card I guess they are trying to make sure they are used. This changed just last week."

Not sure how official, but sounds like it is not a temporary systems update.

This is a situation to continue to monitor but that response sounds bleak. Of course yesterday @Albort shared a very different comment that was made from somebody on a throwaway reddit account stating:

I work in the travel industry as a software engineer and right now Disney is undergoing a huge revamp of the system they use to let external companies make bookings with them and it's causing issues with a lot of companies. I would wait until about mid-October to see if this is truly a permanent change.

My gut told me it wasn't temporary. The disney cards are so lame though, I can't imagine droves of people are suddenly going to start using them. That is silly.

ETA: It seems to me cash back is the way to go. Concentrating on chase URs for cat spend and cashing out towards a trip plus topping off with the discounted gift cards seems the best route now. Or a cash back card plus gift cards.

I'm currently in the process of analyzing my trip with the old way vs. signing up for new cards, cashing out URs/cash back cards, purchasing discounted Gift Cards to pay for everything, etc. Also looking at involving agency exclusive offers in there too. I am up to 12 scenarios right now and counting, LOL! I actually can get within 8-10k URs of the 1.50x in one of the more complex scenarios.

Probably the same source that everyone else is using but I thought the part about the ThankYou Points and Conexions was interesting.

Makes me happy we invested in DVC this year. Of course I like to go so much that UR points were my fall back option for more trips.

On the ticket and AP voucher front I have now 5 without expiration dates 7 day PH's and 5 AP vouchers. It is so bad. I have flirted with the idea of buying more AP vouchers while they have the DVC Gold AP deal. (And I am renewing our AP's for this year anyway in December).

@Haley R your thread on December popped up on the Disboards email they send out daily as the trending thread of the day. You are a big deal!

It does sound bleak, but I'll parse through what nuhertz was told for a glimmer of hope.

"I do apologize it is going to be a permanent change as far as we know." - The assertion that this change is permanent is based only on their personal knowledge. We all know frontline reps aren't told everything, and things could change.

"Chase has a Disney credit card I guess they are trying to make sure they are used."
- This is pure speculation.

I am back from my trip (bummer, want to stay at WDW forever), no chance of reading 114 pages LOL, anything exciting that I need to know about?

LOL oh boy...

Double dip is dead. AU bonuses on CSP are dead. Some people are having one of their DD cards canceled. And most fun of all, Chase removed Disney as an option for redeeming URs with through CSR/CSP/CIP.

Don't forget Hotwire or Priceline opaque deals too. Problem with those is they are last minute. So if you have room only booked at disney as backup (instead of package) you can cancel that if you find a great last minute hotwire/priceline rate. I think you mentioned wanting to do the dining plan though, so won't work for you unless you see something available further out. But it is a good option for another time.

Please share when you're able to! I'm bouncing around a couple different ideas in my head now. Varying wildly between getting CSR for DH to redeem for USO tickets at 1.5 to not getting CSR at all and doing straight cash back for 2019 WDW trip and just buying a lot of discounted Disney GCs.

Just hit Walgreens for a $25 Disney GC and I'm showing $10 pending on RMN!

Double Dip, like for the SW cards, to get a companion cert?

I think generally everything, but specifically CSR/CSP died this past week. We've had several people who have had Chase call them and cancel one of their cards when they double dipped recently. Many people were several thousand into MSR.
