I love credit cards so much!

It's from Disney Rewards. The sender was "Disney Rewards" and the subject line was "Disney Visa Card wants to hear from you"

It's a very lengthy and involved survey that is obviously trying to measure how satisfied current Disney card holders are and how receptive they'd be to this new card.

And I can't take the survey again (just tried), so I guess we'll have to wait and see the specifics of the card or even when it'll be released.
So it seems if this thing happens that they'd not put the resorts back on UR. That would be counterproductive. And for us, there is just no way the new card/disportal could compete with FREE using URs. :(

Oh my word, I am never going to get DDs stupid PNC account set up. :badpc::badpc: First obstacle was she was not yet 18. Finally 18 but I had to wait to pay down the CC I was going to use because I stupidly dropped the credit way low after I got it and I had charged a lot on it. Finally ready to go on CC and now I get to the part do you have a valid driver's license? Do you need one? Can I put no and will it go through ok? Because when she turned 18, at school, 7 hours from home, her license expired. I just figured we would wait till she comes home on fall break to deal with it. So yes she has a license, no it is not valid. :badpc::badpc:

Anyone can help me? Will it go through without one?

PNC identity verification is really touchy, even with my license and known credit history I have yet to be able to open an account online, tried twice failed the verification (bad questions which are a known problem with their verification) and now have a few more days to wait out to retry the online app, as once you are locked out it is typically for a month (per reports on doc of credit). Good luck!

Unfortunately, the game is changing, no matter how much we dislike it. I earn and hold points for my trips to Hawaii and have specific ways of earning them. My other fave place is WDW. I hold the Disney Premier this year because it was worth a spot for the $200 back after only a $500 spend, but knew I'd absolutely downgrade it after year 1. I continue to hope Disney and Chase will give me a real reason to shift some of my spend to a card I feel good about using for Disney trips. Even better, a card that compels me to KEEP/USE IT long term. Time will tell. If they want loyalty from me, they are going to need to give me compelling incentive to do that. Frankly, I am tired of spreading myself across way too many cards for travel. I want one that will make the most expensive trips I take (Looking at you Disney) less expensive. Clearly I am not the only one, considering all the hoops we jump through to accomplish that. Give me a card that will make it possible for me to quit chasing Disney gift cards all over town. I want that ALOT.

Southwest hates me. Retention had no offer for me either. Pay the $69 to refer dh or drop it. I got it 2 years ago. I could go for CP with DH if I really wanted, I'm 4/24. I only have CIP for Chase biz cards right now. I was going to apply for CIC or CIU this week.

I need to get to Hawaii in 2019 and then my wish is to visit my son in S.Korea or he suggested Tokyo Disneyland as soon as I can, likely 2020 if he extends. That second part is so up in the air and very unlikely at this point that it is truly only a wish that I'm not sure I can make happen. That's why I think one CP is fine so I can move on to other cards, other points and other things.

My throat is so sore and I feel miserable, I have 2 sick peeps, this is not the way to end vacation lol That Chase voice recognition is going to be way off on me ;)

Right. I've heard nothing about this new Disney card that is even close to as exciting as paying for Disney rooms with my UR's. Disney rewards are very hard to earn, which is why I've never used the card much in the past.

A good Disney credit card would be one that I could earn enough points on to pay for a Disney trip... I'm not holding my breath on this one. Our current Disney Visa barely every gets used at this point.

Another thing to consider is that both DL and WDW are expecting record setting levels of guests in 2019/2020 with the openings of Star Wars Land. I can see them doing less discounting on rooms in the future, too, until the crowds die down.

Hmmm. Not super interesting to me, personally, but I think I know quite a few people who would jump at the chance to get that card.
My wife will only use her Disney Premier...I have given up the fight on that one. Not sure how well this would work for us with DVC. Would have to figure out spend and Disney purchases before jumping the gun on this one.

This was my thought as well. It doesn't sound like there is much value for a DVC member. My first thought was slight disappointment since I just opened the Disney Visa, but looking at the card benefits I can't see enough value in the card to justify the $95 AF anyway.

I'm exactly the same. I'm not sure this new card is really going to be "the one" that I've dreamed of, but if it is, that's great. It's going to have to save me around 50% on deluxe bookings (like renting DVC points does) and a significant discount on park tickets (like Undercover Tourist gives), and free airfare (which is what my UR points manage to do). If it can't do that...I don't know. I guess I could still use it in the parks to get the 4X rewards dollars and the 10% off of shopping and some dining.

They need a decent sign-up bonus, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to offer bonus Reward Dollars each anniversary too ($50?). That'd sweeten the deal.

We'll see. I feel kind of weird being the person with this news. I'm NEVER the person that knows anything, LOL!

I did the survey. Direct invite through email. Details on the card below...

ETA: The survey said that there could be different respondents what could get a different type card. I have a gut feeling there is really only one and still speculation at this point.
A new card is NEVER a bad thing in this game. We continually need new cards to provide new opportunities.

That said...This card wouldn't do much for me. (Would I be too much of a downer to call it a dud for churners...:confused3)

I'd get it if the signup bonus was good (Probably defined as $400+ in value)...but then I'd sock drawer it like all the others. It would be a downgrade after 1 year to a no AF or cancel. I can already achieve 10%+ off on Disney Gift Cards AND I get to put that spend on another card (i.e. a new MSR or at the very least a BCP @ 6% or Freedom @ 5%).

The card needs to have something like an annual travel credit towards Disney, or some actual special perk at Disney for me to call it a long-term keeper.

That said...it's probably a good card for Disney and Chase. The non-churner Disney crowd would probably go crazy over it. OMG 4% back on Disney Purchases, BEST.CARD.EVER. LOL! :) :rotfl2:

EDIT: Thanks for those sharing info on it. I don't want my comments to come across as negative towards that...just when comparing what this could hypothetically bring to the table vs. potentially losing URs towards Disney forever...well it's not match.

Maybe if it does come to fruition...it may have different perks. May just leave it alone.

Amen to that. I really want to love a Disney card :love:and add one long term to my overall strategy. I will wait to see what comes of this. 10% back on Disney cruises might get me on year 1. I remain optimistic. I do believe in fairies, I DO I DO! lol

The one thing that was unclear to me in that survey was the 4% back on restaurants. It doesn't specifically say Disney restaurants. That was interesting. I wonder if they meant to say AT most Disney locations and not "and" most Disney locations.

If you truly have some magical power...Could you maybe believe in the Chase UR fairy then? That's the fairy we need to exist, and we need that fairy to wave it's wand and let me use my URs towards Disney again! LOL!
