I love credit cards so much!

Regarding the rumored Chase Disney card - probably not something I would pursue since we have DVC and I try to earn free gift cards for my other disney expenses such as meals and tickets.

Loving RMN. My $10 from Macy's on 9/20 posted today. I may go back before the week is up to pick up Clinique foundation. Waiting on Walgreens and CVS to post but I probably won't relink them as I won't need anything from there before the offers expire. These offers were great. I hope they continue to be as great.

You're talkin' to an Amex girl who is in LOL/24 purgatory. I will wave my magic wand over your UR if you wave yours over my sad little corner of the LOL universe.
Being < 5/24 is only 24 months away... Somehow I pulled it off and remarkably didn't get burned in the process.

Also - I refuse to acknowledge the term lol/24 :sad2: HAHA! I must stand by my stance that everybody should know their X/24 status at all times in this game haha!

Quick question ... we had our credit pulled today to get a pre-approval letter for a loan. I always wonder whether I should apply for a card on the same day as something like this with the idea that it might not lower my credit score more? It probably doesn't matter all that much as my credit score was almost perfect last time I looked. I was thinking about getting the Amex Gold personal and wondered if I should just go for it today. The new perks look awesome. I'm assuming (1) the new card isn't a different product (2) I can pull the 50k offer. Any help would be appreciated!

I got one!

If you truly have some magical power...Could you maybe believe in the Chase UR fairy then? That's the fairy we need to exist, and we need that fairy to wave it's wand and let me use my URs towards Disney again! LOL!
I think my Mom does! I just remembered a convo I had with her last week when I told her Chase stopped allowing UR redemptions for Disney... her conclusion “Dimon needs to cut redemption costs but Disney bookings are like every family’s travel goal and Iger needs cash because Fox is super expensive- it’s a match if the companies would talk to each other! Cut out the middleman, have a special UR redemption thing for Disney- everyone wins!”

Do I need to have a separate account for my Chase Ink Cash Business card or can I add it with my account used for my personal cards?

Amen to that. I really want to love a Disney card :love:and add one long term to my overall strategy. I will wait to see what comes of this. 10% back on Disney cruises might get me on year 1. I remain optimistic. I do believe in fairies, I DO I DO! lol

The one thing that was unclear to me in that survey was the 4% back on restaurants. It doesn't specifically say Disney restaurants. That was interesting. I wonder if they meant to say AT most Disney locations and not "and" most Disney locations.
I think they mean "and" as it's stated. You can get 4X on any dining anywhere, and also 4X on most Disney spend, including dining, shopping, etc. Kind of like the CSR offers 3X on dining and travel, only Disney replaces travel with...Disney. At least that's how I read it.

Crunching the numbers on my end, and going by Expedia's rates on the Disney resorts (which are pretty close or identical to Disney's regular rates for the dates and resorts I'm looking at), this card just can't touch the savings I get renting DVC and using UT for tickets. I never used UR to book travel through the Chase portal, so I'm not feeling that loss like a lot of others here, but I do understand their disappointment. I hope that opportunity returns for them.

This was my thought as well. It doesn't sound like there is much value for a DVC member. My first thought was slight disappointment since I just opened the Disney Visa, but looking at the card benefits I can't see enough value in the card to justify the $95 AF anyway.

If you do the math, this card really isn't going to work for non DVC either. I don't need help paying for airfare, that's what miles are for. The other benefits don't impress me as they aren't really any better than most can do elsewhere. 4% at Dis vs charging back to my room and using CSR for 3x or using gc that I've saved a lot on are both better imo.

Pair it with the Starbucks Visa and you’re gold.

But you can only use the free drinks at DS not in the parks.

Anyone here purchase and finance a DVC thru Disney? We did last week. Not sure if I should post here or on dvc page. We are hoping to pay off that ridiculous loan this year. I am wanting to know if there are fees if I use a cc? And does it code as travel or something else? Trying to decide if it's worth it to put on a cc. ( no worries not planning on carrying a balance)
Thanks for any help.

So with the new ticket pricing, it would be better to buy from UCT now than later, right? Our next trip is Spring Break 2019,which I’m sure will be a higher priced time...

There are no fees when you use a credit card to pay off the loan. I believe it does code as travel so you would get any points associated with a travel purchase depending on what card you have. There are some cards out there that have a 0% into APR as well so you could carry the balance on there if you needed at 0%. The perk of carrying with a Disney loan, if you want to call it a perk, its that it won't show on your credit report.

If you buy tickets now, what is the expiration date? I’d definitely buy now if I had a Spring Break trip planned!

Yes but you'll want to buy the e-ticket that expires 12/19. The hard tickets they mail expire I think 3/19 but don't quote that, I read it in one of the ticket threads earlier but it was suggested to anyone to do the e-ticket.

ETA - I just read UT hard tickets expire the end of Feb 2019. So most will want e-ticket.

Unfortunately, the game is changing, no matter how much we dislike it. I earn and hold points for my trips to Hawaii and have specific ways of earning them. My other fave place is WDW. I hold the Disney Premier this year because it was worth a spot for the $200 back after only a $500 spend, but knew I'd absolutely downgrade it after year 1. I continue to hope Disney and Chase will give me a real reason to shift some of my spend to a card I feel good about using for Disney trips. Even better, a card that compels me to KEEP/USE IT long term. Time will tell. If they want loyalty from me, they are going to need to give me compelling incentive to do that. Frankly, I am tired of spreading myself across way too many cards for travel. I want one that will make the most expensive trips I take (Looking at you Disney) less expensive. Clearly I am not the only one, considering all the hoops we jump through to accomplish that. Give me a card that will make it possible for me to quit chasing Disney gift cards all over town. I want that ALOT.
You still sound like a chase employee.:rotfl:
Teasing.

I just don’t think they will compare to the deals I get thru the ultra secret TAs, Hotwire/Priceline plague deals, or dvc point rental. Glad you are excited though. And maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.
