I love credit cards so much!

If you want to get all the Chase cards while your under 5/24...you could look at the Chase Ink Cash CIP or Chase Ink Unlimited CIU....both business cards have a 50,000uR sign up bonus and are no fee cards
Thanks for this but where are you seeing a 50,000 sign up bonus? All I can find is a $500 bonus.

Now I'm debating if I should plan on churning our Disney cards and our Arrival cards... I've had the no fee Arrival for 3.5yrs and DH has had the Plus for 2.5yrs... Disney cards are no fee and are both 2 years old this month.

Ugh. So we are doing 3 nights WDW before an RCL cruise in Feb. Right now I have first night booked at Pop and next two at Swan. Originally was going to buy tix with URs. I have a gc stash so will apply that to tix now. I think I should just buy them before the 16th but can’t imagine 2 day nonhoppers will go up that much. In hindsight I should have added the tix onto the room to make a package and then I could just cancel if better tix opportunities arose. There is zero value availability now for 2/7 for just one night. Seems crazy to me.

Also @amalone1013 i know you did USO tix. Post cruise we are doing 3 nights RPR. I will prob use URs to get tix. There is a new buy 2 get 2 promo. Want to do park to park all 3 parks. Can these be converted to APs? Roughly how much more would it cost?

@amalone1013 You mentioned that your plan was to charge everything to your hotel at Universal and use your CSR travel credit. That is my plan as well so I was just wondering if that went alright, everything coded correctly and there weren't any surprises?

Also, did you get tickets via UR to upgrade at the parks? I can't remember if that was you or someone else. I am really looking for some good dps on that since we are hoping to do that in a few weeks!

Hope you had a great trip!

I quoted you both about US tickets :) I ended up buying my tickets on UCT because it was the best deal for what I planned on doing (upgrading to AP) and I had already used URs to cover my Disney tickets. I found a thread on the US boards about upgrading, and my understanding is that if you can get a 2 day + 1 day free type ticket from UCT, NOT a promo ticket that the regular US site is also selling, it would be treated as face value for the total days (in the case of a 2 + 1 free, 3 day ticket). The Promo tickets, like the 2+2 that I see through US/UCT/UR site, would most likely be treated as a 2 day ticket. I did see a time or two where that type of ticket was treated as the full day amount instead of just the 2, etc, but it was more abnormal. I do think that is what happened for @vanjust14 when she upgraded the 3+2 Promo tickets she got with URs to seasonal APs.

As for how much it costs, you just need to know the difference between face value of your ticket, and what AP you want to get. There are 4 levels of AP and each is available as 2 park or 3 park ones. I think most important here is, if you buy a 3 park ticket and you've been to VB before upgrading, you MUST do a 3 park AP. If you haven't yet, or just have a 2 park ticket, you can upgrade to a 2 or 3 park AP.

For us, I ended up buying 5 day 3 park tickets of UCT and upgraded them to Seasonal APs because the block out dates won't effect us anyways. We used them to enter the park, then went to guest services and upgraded. Very simple - we even got $13ish back total because our tickets face value was slightly more than the cost of a Seasonal pass.

Here was our scenario:

Needed: 3 day park tickets ($542 via UCT), 1 day Volcano Bay ($182), HHN tickets ($204) = total $928
  • Purchased 2 5 day 3 park to park tickets via UCT for $743, face value was $831
  • Upgraded to Seasonal APs which cost $818, received gift card with difference on it (~$13 back)
  • We also did HHN tickets - bought Rush of Fear passes with AP discount for $181 ($23 savings)
  • And it happens that late Aug through Sept is passholder appreciation days, so we got a 10% discount on a couple meals when seasonal pass doesn't usually get food discounts (~$15 savings)
Spent: $924, got a $13 gift card, saved $38, and now have Seasonal APs in case we go back in the next year (no current plans but since it was a better deal I figured why not?)

Hope this made sense, if it didn't please ask. I'm fighting a cold so I haven't had my coffee today :coffee:

And @babyready, we charged almost everything to the room and CSR travel credit worked just fine. Only issue we had was I had 2 separate 1 night reservations, and we had to check out/in again in the morning. We immediately went to get something from the hotel shop and it wouldn't go through, though I'm not sure if it was just that register because we then went to the grab and go breakfast they set up at RPR and were able to charge to the room. So I had two charges from RPR. 1 for each night, but most was covered with travel credit :)

Incognito mode. Then go to Amex’s site to search their cards and offers. Try clearing history, different browsers, VPN if you have it, etc.
if you do incognito, will you get the dreaded popup? I actually want to know before I apply if I don't qualify for the bonus....

@amalone1013 I read your review of the Hyatt House by DL and am considering that for our stay next year. Would you recommend it? We have 2 kids who will be 4 and 6 at the time of travel. Thanks for any insight!

Heck at this point I just want to love Disney again..... How is it possible to be a fan and yet hate them so much most of the time lately? I'm actually serious....I don't know how to view Disney anymore.

It's that personal attachment they create, and then they change stuff, like prices or they take away an attraction you love. It's like you can't trust them. View them as a business. If you value their product at their price point all is fine. If you can afford their product and feel it has value all is fine. It's when you start feeling that it's not worth what they are asking and start remembering 'how it used to be' - which by the way is different for everybody, then it's possible to start using words like hate and greedy.

Chase savings? If it's one of the usual offers then that bonus posts after 90 days. Unless I missed a cooler offer :)
My email from Chase says "Once you've completed these steps, we'll deposit your bonus in your new account within 10 business days." But who knows. It also said my $15,000 deposit had to be made by the end of the month, not 10 business days and mine may have hit on the 11th business day because I had a really hard time figuring how to get money into it.

I emailed Chase Cruise & Tours department last night. I transferred my May 2019 Disney reservation to them in July with the intention of using CSR UR points to payoff in April. Here is the email exchange (read bottom up). I think someone else here had a reservation with Chase - so they may be contacting you soon....

Good morning Mrs. XXX, I am glad you checked. I have been trying to keep track of all my Disney bookings. Yes sadly Chase has told us we can no longer make any new Disney bookings of any kind. Since we already have taken ownership of the booking we can still redeem the points. However we are to go ahead and get the points redeemed for the reservations asap. Any remaining balance does not have to be paid until the due date. So whenever is convenient for you in the next week I can reach out to you to get he points redeemed? Sorry for the inconvenience we are definitely not happy about it either. We have always done a lot of Disney and hate having to now tell people we can’t :(.

Hi Melissa,

Hope all has been well!

I have heard about the discontinuation of booking Disney through the Chase Cruise and Tours department, and can't help but wonder how this will affect my trip that I transferred to you about a month ago? Can you let me know of any information you may have on the matter, specifically will Chase continue to hold my reservation and can I still pay with my CSR UR points?

Thank you,

Alexis

I am shopping for new iPhones and a new service plan (UGH I’m hating it). I see sprint has a discount for “autopay.” Does anyone know if that can be set to charge my CC or does it have to be a bank account (possible deal breaker)? Anyone try Xfinity mobile or know of any other great deals? Of course I want to pay the bill with a CC but I remember reading that someone chose CIP over CIC but I don’t recall why.....
the person who chose CIP over CIC is @Lain . He did it that way because CIP has phone insurance. the less 2x is worth it to him.

hey, do u have a citi card? the best idea would to call citi travel services and see if they could take over your booking. If they also cannot do so, its most likely Disney's side. If they could, then we can confirm its Chases doing.
i personally think the opposite when it comes to Disney.

I also find it weird that chase only switched the Freedom cards over to Expedia. I think this is a cost saving measure and leaving the original companies with the premium cards and expedia on the Freedom cards.

They should stack. I upgraded to the Lux, and then registered for the extra points offer. If you upgrade first, you'd have 16k points vs the 13k since every dollars spent gets 2x on the Lux.
wait...really? so I should just bite the bullet and hit upgrade asap??? ok that means I REALLY have to dig into my reading and get the whole AF timing in my head since I'm really not sure how that's supposed to work yet...( current $95 AF due Nov 20, if I PC NOW what does that mean for what I need to pay AF wise???and when do I pay it??? I'm so confused)

Thanks for that info! I did get the 4 day 3 Park ticket from UR instead of the promo tickets which were fewer points but I did not want to chance it. Glad to hear this worked well for you, I am hopeful we can upgrade to APs as well. I was originally going to get our last child ticket on UCT and use the credit but our CSR bonus finally hit, so I am planning on getting one more that way. Except you cannot get one child ticket on UR, it won't let you select "0" for adult. So weird, so hopefully I can call and get one more child ticket and use the credit while there!

We leave 3 weeks from today and it is shaping up to be very close to a free trip. I will have to do a recap when we get back but used URs to pay for a week at Cabana Bay, and (hopefully) 6 tickets. RR and CP for plane tickets. Arrival travel credit for transportation and hopefully CSR credit for some food/souvenirs. So excited!

I noticed for the new $600 offer they changed the deadline to 20 business days... which is way nicer. If you get one goof up linking the accounts yer toast with 10 business days.

And just rechecking the $200 and $225 links they both have " deposit $15,000 or more in new money within 20 business days, and maintain a $15,000 balance for 90 days." for the terms.
So you'll get the bonus within 10 days of day 90. For ours we got it the Tue following 90 days from open date, not from funding date. So we got it about a week sooner than I planned for since I didn't know how they calculated the 90 days.

yeah..... I do believe it's the old feeling I got as a kid that's still drawing me there..... and it's not so much the cost (altho SHEESH,it's $$$) It's more the horrible feeling of stress that accompanies a current Disney trip- honestly it started with the MDE nonsense and fp+ stuff and just spiraled downhill from there IMHO. (I do realize it's just an opinion) Add the outlandish costs now to the latest restriction in tickets and :sad2: is pretty much all I feel right now.

im not quite sure whats going on but the AF will be prorated. they will charge it within 45 days. i think the high upgrade points expire end of oct.

Quoting myself because I have another idea. Our SW CP expires at the end of this year and we got a lot of use out of it. I earned that one by opening two SW cards concurrently. I know October is ideal for starting the process of getting another and DH is eligible. I did it by opening a Plus and Premier at the same time. What is the current advice for getting the SW CP? He can easily and legitimately open business cards.
This may have been answered already but SW BIZ then SW Personal is the path to CP. Don’t apply on the same day due to the scrutiny on double dips. I’d probably space them out by a month or more if possible.

Yes,exactly I have to upgrade before that date. I think it's the word prorated that has me confused.... I just want to calculate the cost of the AF I'd have to pay this fall ....if I do nothing,I'd pay $95...if I upgrade, what am I paying instead? or in addition to? or less than? wouldn't it save me $ off the Luxe Af to upgrade now? (I thought I read that somewhere)
