Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2018

What a shame.....I did not watch this season after the first 2 episodes because of issues of too many shows.
I followed along on this thread.
Now, I am glad I didn't watch

Ridiculous. I was laughing at the TV when he was announced as the "winner." Why they wanted him to win is beyond me. It's become like the "Bachelor." It's a comedy show, not "reality" TV or a "competition."

JMO - He was loved by the fans. Was he the best dancer? Absolutely not. Should he have won? Probably not...but people loved him, and a lot of times that's what they base their vote on. I don't vote, but I would have voted for him. Sometimes the lovable underdog gets a win. (I get that it's a dancing competition...but sometimes people decide with their heart, not their heads.)

Hey! I like Bobby the radio host and entertainer just fine. He seems sweet, funny and genuine. I just didn’t like him in the context of the show ... a very poor dancer who remained while better dancers were kicked off. He was terrible and never really got better. Sharna just got better at dancing around him and hiding his flat footed clomping around. Heck, he made dancers like Rossy and Bristol look like professionals!

I am very disappointed with the show. I dont always agree with the winner, but at least they could dance. Bobby can’t dance. From what I read the judges gave Bobby 10’s for a sub-par dance. It makes me wonder what would have happened if they judged him fairly. It also makes me wonder if the producers told them that Bobby had no chance so they should throw a bone to his fan base. Ugh.

Yep, Never watched this show a day in my life before this season. I listen to Bobby every morning on the way to work so I watched in this season. I voted for him every week. Now I'll probably go back to never watching another DWTS in my life.

You are not the only one. It's a real shame.

So according to the results posted on the FB page, it was Bobby, Milo, Evanna and Alexis (in that order). What a joke this season was (and not in a good way). :(
And from reading the comments on FB, seems most of the viewing audience were disappointed as well. So I'm not sure where all the votes for Bobby came from.

I used to listen to him every morning when he was on our local radio station here in Austin. That's why I was excited to see him on the show this season. But, when I realized he was not improving and would never improve, I stoped voting for him and started voting for real dancers. That's how this show is supposed to work. The non-watchers of this show hijacked it this season.

If Bobby is as nice a guy as he tries to convey on the radio, then he should have walked over to Milo and handed him the mirrorball trophy. That's what a nice guy would do in this situation. Instead, I saw him mouthing the words "come on, come on" while they were waiting to hear the winners announced. He wanted this so badly even though he knew he couldn't dance. I feel like this is all a big joke to him, a bit for the radio show.

It wouldn’t be his first stunt :upsidedow

I'm ok with it. It's not that big a deal. It is my favorite show, but really nothing to take seriously. Context, folks! I just hope we get another season, and people don't drag Bobby and Sharna too badly. Especially Sharna.

By the way, a photo of her with the guy she's dating popped up on her Insta Stories today. Not Bobby.

just more Showmance rumors for votes and ratings. I wonder how many people voted for them because they thought they were an item.

Glad I fell asleep before the winner was announced, otherwise I might have thrown something at the tv. Great Sharna won but really how about the good dancers that got sent home early and went to the finals and didn't win. It didn't seem fair to them. Bobbys last "dance" wasn't even a dance just some jumping up and down off of that elevated stage.

They really need to change the way the voting is. I recall the year that Master P was on he was safe week after week. The only thing that sent him home was when the judged gave him 4's and 5's so it didn't matter what the public gave him.

Wow! What happened last night?

There have been some favorites in the past, and also some people who had a clear edge on the competition. There is always something, but this!

I didn't know who Bobby was before the show began, and don't dislike him. But, just like Joe, who thankfully exited last week, he is not the best nor the most improved dancer of the season.

Maybe it doesn't matter to some people that he won, but if the prize will go to someone based on their following/popularity rather than their dancing ability what is the point of watching two months of the show?

Mandy posted an article earlier in the season how Bobby's mother was allegedly an alcoholic & drug addict and mentally out of it most of his life. And he used to do anything to get her attention & love. His grandmother used to perform at church and he learned performing/show biz/the radio could give him the kind of attention he so desperately craved. That is why he is so manic all the time. "Watch ME! Love ME! Pay attention to ME!!!" All of this, even winning DWTS is just a substitute surrogate for the love his mommy never gave him. :sad2:

As bad as I feel for Milo & Evanna not rightfully winning. I'm glad their own heads & hearts are in a good place and not NEEDING this win as a pathetic substitute for something else.

It was the same for Alexis & Alan. At least she could dance and did get legitimate votes that way.

I knew something was up when they didn't do the countdown from fourth place on up. Ridiculous.

The one thing no one has mentioned so far is that I feel a little bad for Whitney, because she did an EXCELLENT job with Milo as far as not sexualizing him or them as a couple (since he is only 17), and yet still choreographing it so that he was the leader, was the "man" of the pair. That had to be a *very* fine line to walk. (And she's one I've followed for years, because she's so sweet and innocent and funny in the interview segments and then on the dance floor WHAM she turns it ON!!)

Good for you Whitney, too bad you got robbed!

Terri

I love Whitney. She was totally robbed.

I adored SYTYCD back in "the old days" and I will never forget her season, she was such a breath of fresh air. I'm thrilled she's grown and progressed. She's become quite the good choreographer, and that freestyle routine was one of the best they've ever had IMHO.
