Cross-posting from the DGC thread...

Has anyone else done the $45 back on $45 Sam’s Club membership? I joined, downloaded the app, thought I had everything good to go... went to do scan and go and it didn’t show up. I asked a manager and she said it was a $45 gift card that would be e-mailed to me, but that doesn’t seem right... what did I miss? Really hoping I didn’t mess myself up by doing scan and go on this order :headache:

I was genuinely wondering how to add middle initial to the app, not even trying to skirt around the rules. I figured I would just put exactly what was on my last Chase card just so it matched in the system. This is definitely interesting!

I was pondering the same thing! I figured the CIP should be my first business card with Chase based on what everyone has said. I was a little paranoid after the CSR/CSP double dip and Chase slashing my CLs so I figured I would wait a little longer than the suggested 3 months for things to cool down and see what Chase was doing (I just passed 5 months). I also know I have a large expense in April so I figured the $5,000 MSR would be no issue whatsoever. Then the United business offer became public. If I went for my CIP today I would be fine at a little bit over 5 months from my last Chase app, but I would be too close to 3/18/19 to go for the United card at just under 2 months. I am also weighing the idea that the CIP would be more beneficial. I don't have any immediate plan for United miles, but it was a nice offer. Wishful thinking the deal is extended or comes back in the future.
You could do CIP now and try United Biz right before the 3/18 - that’s almost 2 months.

Wow. Yesterday was super busy and I spent the evening trying to catch up here. I fell asleep before I got to the end.

Anyway, I want to give a BIG shoutout for everyone here who taught me how to get AA gift cards with my AMEX airline credit. In the past, we used it for... well, not much. I think we've wasted a few years of it TBH. Now we have $800 in AA GCs to use. Not sure when/how we are going to use them, since we used 2018's cards for all the planned travel in 2019 (so far) but super nice, and a big sigh of relief, when those credits came through last night. THANK YOU! :flower3:

About two years ago DH has someone at work telling him how they were super excited to go to Universal Studios Hollywood and see the new Avatar land.

Did he ever get a follow up on how their trip went?

We are changing our Kona adr. The new wings look really gross to me. They have pickled carrots and honey bacon on top which I wouldn’t eat either of. Any suggestions for a new adr in/around mk?

Late to the game, and I see you chose CP (which is fun, BTW, and so pretty), but I'll throw in a couple of faves anyway. The Plaza at the MK has good, simple food, and a fun atmosphere. The Grand Floridian Cafe is a lovely space with very good food. Almost a hidden gem on these boards. ;)

I’m really unsure of the issue then. Are you using old reddit?

Anybody else have issues using this link? https://www.reddit.com/r/DISchurners/comments/

Another one who can't see it. "Not Found"

Ok - so if this isn't working try the following:
Once you've accessed it once, it seems it will always work...strange I know! LOL!

I figured out how to get it to show Old Reddit (I had no idea there even was an old and a new LOL) and I can see it now. Thanks!

For those that do shirts on a cricut, does the vinyl make the shirt stiff? I want to try and find a Mickey tank top for my August trip but it seems like the shirt wouldn't be as comfortable if I found one off etsy (or asked really nicely and paid one of you to do it and give you business for a biz card :D). I don't like that a lot of women's tanks with designs are like the back of a sports bra so you have to change what you wear under it especially when most solid colors are a normal style. Also why I don't have a Mariners tank.
I haven't found any issues with them being stiff, but as sungglebug said I think layering is a lot of it, I haven't done much layering overall. I have gotten more picky about the kind of shirts I like to use, in fact I think I'm going to goodwill a bunch of plain tshirts from Michaels because I have found a brand I like a lot better.

I don't know that he got a follow up, but he did ruin their day by breaking the news before they went.

This is probably not the answer you want but my simple answer is....because we can. We never keep our bands from previous trips because I don’t like the clutter and we actually get really excited when the bands come in. It makes the trip seem more real. I got a Halloween band last year that I still plan to use but only at mk because that’s the only park the special effects work at. The reason we take both sets is because we have a split stay and Dh and I like picking out different colors.

I can understand not liking the clutter for sure as I am currently purging stuff around my house. I hope you recycle them at the resort though instead of just tossing them in the trash! I wasn't looking for any particular answer. I've seen so many people get multiples I was kinda wondering if people knew they could reuse them. I hadn't realized so many people customized them.

I have never declined a MagicBand order. I have had some issues accessing my room and even though the "MagicBands are interchangeable," the resort can tell which bands are attached to the reservation so I always make sure to have that one on when arriving via DME. I also do split stays so 2 new MagicBands per trip. With the 2.0 release I interchange the puck like red/green for Christmas orange/purple for Halloween, etc. The far range battery also weakens as the bands age. Things like entering the park or using FP+ require a tap so no issue there, but ride photos like FEA or SDD may not register if the long range battery is weak/dead. When IASW has the goodbye screens on my name is always up there. I've also noticed the color also fades/turns white. I thought it was maybe due to sunscreen or chlorine, but its happened on bands that have never come in contact with those things.

If Disney somehow gave a monetary credit for declining a band I would probably consider it, but it doesn't and I am 110% sure the price is factored into the resort cost so I order what I paid for. Its like the mugs. I do feel wasteful buying new ones every trip, but Disney doesn't seem to care. I call IT and have the prior years' bands removed from my account to make it more manageable on myself and to ensure my account functions as good as MDE can.

I've seen some cute things on the internet like MagicBand Christmas tree garland or a MagicBand wreath. I may try that out with all the deactivated ones.

I have heard of the batteries dying so I can understand getting a new one every so often. I still use some of my first generation bands, but I don't really do on ride photos.
I've seen pictures of garlands which is part of why I was curious why people had so many!
I think it would be nice if they had some kind of incentive to not order a new set. Or make it the default not to ship. Not sure they cost all that more than the plastic room keys so unsure they affect the room cost, but I get wanting to get more value for what you pay for.

It is so tempting! Would Chase hate me? :ssst: lol

Would it be bad to go for a business card on a federal holiday? I remember with the double dip it was recommended during a weekday if I had to call. No real urgency here because I am not trying to fit a second card in under the wire, right?

Well the double dip was because you might have to call recon (since you had to get them both approved that day). You probably aren’t calling recon on a biz card so no big deal there really.

I only have one vinyl t-shirt but I think the key is keeping it thin. Hubby had a t-shirt made for me over at the mall from one of our Disney pics, unfortunately the dude working the press wrinkled the vinyl or something and decided to just iron on a good one on top of it. (instead of eating the mistake and starting over like a professional would...) At first I really didn't notice a difference but after the first washing or so I noticed that it does feel stiff and vinyl-y and I can tell right where the vinyl layers are when I wear it. But if it was a smaller picture or wasn't a solid block, square in the middle of the shirt, or possible just the one layer like it should be, I don't think I'd really notice it.

I’d probably go for the CIP now since URs are more versatile and you don’t have immediate plans for the United miles
You could also see how you feel about applying for the United card just before 3/18...since it will be just under 2 months from the CIP

I’ll post a few saved DPs when I get the chance if you’re interested.

I agree. @PolyRob, I think you’re more than safe to go for a Chase biz card now. You may be able to squeeze in the United Biz app before the 75k offer expires. And if you don’t get approved, it’s no big loss because you’ll keep some ceiling open for a possible CIP #2, CIU, and CIC. Besides CIP #2 would be more lucrative than the United Biz anyway because 80k UR signup bonus + 20k UR referral bonus > 75k United miles since UR transfers to United 1:1.

Good luck!

We always change our names on them too so we know which band goes with which resort on our split stay

Not bad, just don’t expect to get instant approval, which is typical of most Chase biz card applications anyway. And if you’re applying as a “business,” it’s not recommended you call in so it doesn’t matter if the recon office is closed or not; just check the automated status line until you hear the good news. When applying for CIP #1, I’d probably recommend applying without a middle initial on your name and business, so you can set yourself up to possibly apply with a middle initial on CIP #2 in a few months.

Quick question. DD is applying for a Santander bank account with a referral code for sign up bonus. She received it in the mail. It is asking permission for them to obtain a “consumer report”. What is that? Is it different from a credit report?

And it’s forcing me to pick from some overdrafts or all overdrafts for my overdraft election notice. Anyone know which one avoids the credit report?

It seems too good to be true but it is working. My hesitation is if they denied the bonus I’d have no recourse and waste $5k spend. The general theory is that Chase won’t approve you for a card without a bonus though. Much to ponder there.....

I know PointsYak is skeptical in discussions about it, but I think there are enough positive DPs of the bonus posting to risk a hard pull and $5k spend. This could be a good option for those who are reluctant to apply for an EIN for their "business" to get another CIP (or another of the Ink cards).

I'm very tempted to try it for my wife, since she is under 5/24, or when I get under 5/24 in March; but there's the 75k United Biz offer that expires 3/18/19. Timing's an issue too. My wife was approved for the CIC in early December, which puts her next app in February to give it a ~2 month cushion. I'll be back in Chase's playground in March. Arguably, 80k UR (+20k UR referral) > 75k UA miles, but why not both? The United Biz offer is limited time and expires in March, whereas there's a good enough chance that the 80k UR CIP offer (and hopefully the 20k UR referrals and 2 CIP with SSN loophole) will stick around for a while longer.

Decisions...

ETA: I'm at 3 Chase biz cards (the CIP, Marriott Biz, and CIC) now. I plan to cancel the Marriott Biz next month, and apply for the United Biz in March. I had planned to go for the CIU in or around May as my 4th open biz card, but I may actually try for the CIP #2 using SSN via referral first to see if I get approved and the bonus posts. By then, there should be a lot more DPs. If CIP #2 is successful, I'll close CIP #1 and go for the CIU a few months later.

I've been keeping an eye on this because it's just so weird. I can't remember who it was but it may have been PointsYak that pointed out that Chase has two minor language differences on some cards - Most say "the product" is not available to you if such and such and other cards say "the bonus" is not available to you if this that or the other. In the first case it makes total sense that if you get approved for the card then the bonus is attached because Chase doesn't approve a card if you can't get the bonus (essentially). The CIP I believe has the latter language, so while I have seen the few DP's from people getting the bonus from two SSN only apps I think some of those were at least a year in between apps or the first card was closed or something that could be somewhat explainable by a glitch or loophole. However, with the rash of folks getting it now with much less time in between, and trying the middle initial trick (which I think would do nothing, but what do I know?) I've been waiting for a couple reports of bonus posting before mentioning it.

That would be a tide turning day in conventional wisdom when someone gets approved for a Chase card and then does NOT get the bonus... and I don't want it to be one of us :)

Applying for CIC this afternoon. How much should I put for Annual Business Revenue/ Sales if P2 is just starting out her "business" again? I also forget how long she has been in business.

It's always easier applying for myself because I have a business. I believe these are the categories people have recommended for her eBay business... Retail Books Hobbies, Other miscellaneous store..., All other Misc. retailers. I put her name as Business name and Business Name on Card and I'm using her social as the tax identification number.

If anyone could give me some thoughts on the first 2 questions and check the other stuff I would appreciate it. TIA!

$1,500 and 2 years seems to be a very popular (and reasonable) combination with a lot of successful approvals.

When I applied for my DHs business CIP....since I had just listed a few things under his name on eBay I put one year in business and 1k income .he was approved but didn’t get as high a CL as I did since I’ve been selling on eBay 15 years and usually have around 10k income

I’d put what your comfortable with...I’ve seen anywhere from 1 yr to 5 yrs mentioned and $500 on upward of income
