Man I can't live like this, lol. 3 FPs and an ADR and I'm good. DH will not do the world without hopping. We go wherever the spirit takes us.
I used to be the big planner. My DH would refer to me as "Julie McCoy, cruise director" for those of you old enough to remember the reference. Now, I do plan which days and get the FP but my family is done with commando style in general. My DD and I could handle commando though!

DH got a new travel card issued at work a few months ago and he just asked me to log in and pay the bill. It is a Citi card and OMG that was the slowest website I have ever seen. Ughhhh I guess I see why people complain about them. At least we are now able to pay online, his old Chase card would not allow that for whatever reason and we had to pay by check.

Marriott and R-C are good about immediately posting (Chase). SPG (Amex) is taking 6-8 weeks...Amex wants to get their AF!
Ahh, bummer. I was hoping to get my SPG lux FN promptly. We have a weekend booked at the Marco Island JW Marriott that would have been perfect to use a certificate for...but alas, I probably won't have it in time.

Since I logged into the Marriott account I noticed a couple things, most important, no 15 nights credit yet :( Not surprised but still disappointing. Am surprised that Marriott thinks we're Lifetime Gold Elite now vs just a couple weeks ago where we were Lifetime Silver as we should be. I clicked on the link to double check our stats and yep, stats still show correctly. IDK what they are doing (and apparently neither do they).

If they don't post by March when Bonvoy rolls out, then they'll post on the anniversary dates. Not ideal, but it is what it is. I'm hoping they stack like they used to, but I don't feel confident. While the previous T&C said they wouldn't stack (but they did), this one says the same, except they've made a big deal about it through their mouthpieces (namely, CC bloggers).

Wow, where are you that your threshold is -20? I don't think we have a real number, they seem to make it up as they go along. But it seems like anything negative will cancel. Drives me bonkers because I know there are students in colder states that go to school in colder weather. We finally have started if it is too cold the teachers still report to work and the students use their school issued chromebooks to work at home. We have only had a couple of those because it is much likelier to have cancelled due to snow and then the teachers stay home too.

Well, I've been teaching now 20 years. I remember back in 1994 it was so cold they cancelled school during finals (it was my senior year). I had snowdays teaching but never a cold day till maybe 8-10 years ago. That was the first "polar vortex" we had. Since then we MAYBE get 1 cold day a year. I guess the temps this week will be as cold as it was back in 1994. -20 is the threshold most districts here pick, having to do with the time spent outside at a bus stop and frostbite. Today we're off as they were anticipating 6"+ to start at 8am....well it's 11:30 and there's not really any snow yet, parents are PISSED, LOL. But I don't think anyone will ***** about school off if we get the -30 to -40 they say is coming.

Oh and I'm in SE Michigan (Detroit area). I hear Chicago might get -60!

In contrast, here, in the Twin Cities, schools closed for snow, and we got 4-6 inches. What a joke. When I was a kid we NEVER got off of school for snow, unless maybe it was at least 12-15. And then Wednesday it's almost certain to be closed again, with a high of -13 and morning windchills near -50. Again, school was never closed for cold when I was a kid either. My dd's senior year, they lost like 6 days due to those types of temps, it was nuts. Some parents are annoyed by it, but then you have the others who are freaking out if it's going to snow at all, or be below zero at all, and they haven't closed schools. Hello...Minnesota!

Hi,
First time posting on this thread.
I've done the CC reward between my husband and I with the Southwest Visa a few times over the last 10 years, but I want to branch out since we are going on our first Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska in June of 2020.

I was googling their reward card and from what I see they occasionally have a 60,000 bonus point sign up. Right now they only have a 10000 point sign up. Does this offer come around often? Trying to decide if I want to wait and see if it pops up.

Also we have never flown American Airlines, but are considering it for this trip. (we are flying from San Antonio to Seattle) Is there point reward system like Southwest? Do they have the larger sign up bonus a few times a year?

The easiest way to get AA miles is the Barclay cards. Just pay the AF and get 60k miles. The other many of us do are the Citi AA but those do have a spend.

Haha 4-6?! Our schools would be closed for DAYS if we got that much here :rotfl2:The threat of snow the night before is generally enough to call for a two hour delay.

Right, since they moved to the SPG way of doing it where all nights are posted at the beginning of the year I didn't think it'd be that outside of BAU and we'd see the nights in Jan sometime like SPG did last year. But how they keep breaking stuff at completely random intervals I am somehow not surprised they haven't made it yet. I fully don't expect the nights to stack, even though that was SPG's terms. If it pops up, great! we'll keep gold every year without having to stay , but since they did make a big deal out of calling it out in all the new materials and T&C even if we get a happy glitch this year I'm not expecting it going forward. If they do stack that just adds more weight to hanging onto the Marriott Biz I had planned to cancel.

Well not sure if you've been like us this winter, but we had one "storm" in November and nothing until last week. We had 50 degrees at the new year even. But now, all of sudden winter has shown up and is making up for lost time. I was ready to accept no snow days and bring on spring.....But I guess I'll accept the one snow day last week, one (to possibly 3) this week, LOL.

I think I found an interesting 3x UR transaction on the CIP... Girl Scout cookies! I purchased online from a coworker once my card came and it is showing 3x in the UR portal coded as "office and shipping"

Just got the email from my niece. With the AmEx pop up disappointment from this weekend it's taunting me to just jump on CIP and get my 3x UR to drown out my AmEx sorrows in Samoas.

Hmm, wonder if I can get Discover to credit my $51 order from Sam's on 12/30, that didn't post until 1/2. Can't hurt to ask, right? I've got my order confirmation email...

I haven't convinced DH of this yet :sad2: Maybe if I can get him to do it to go to Tony's first, that will open up the rest of the wide world of dining options...

Will he not park hop, or he's just not an adventurous eater?

Man, all this talk of Disney food makes me want to sit down and really pick out our ADRs for September haha
