So I need to get the Bonvoy Biz for DH before 3/28 and would like to get CIP #2 for him. I was thinking of waiting until next month to get the CIP since I closed his CIP #1 on 3/1, even though it sounds like it doesn't really matter if you wait 30 days. But then if I need to apply for Amex before then, is Chase going to see that and balk? Should I just apply for the CIP right before Amex?

I don't think I realized there was a max. Actually, maybe @havaneselover mentioned that there isn't a max in VA recently??

Yeah I should text my mom back and tell her since she's the one who texted me last night wanting to know what we were flying in September lol.
I wish we had unlimited fuel points! But yes, I can only guarantee about 6 fillups between the two vehicles over through the end of April. 4 for DH and 2 for me. DH could maybe have done another, IF he wasn't going to be traveling so much. Now he's going to Reno Friday for the day and KC Mon-Tues.

Yeah... I told MIL that we don't usually take Boeings down to FL :rolleyes1 Then I looked and yup, it's Boeings. I'm just going to let it ride until the trip...

I love Citi!! Got approved for my third Citi personal card 2 in the last 15/20 days. So 2/65 seems to be working for me. I didn’t get approved instantly. I got a letter in the mail asking me to call. It was just verification and I was approved over the phone. I’m also now holding 2 Biz cards and 3 personal cards open at the same time. I guess I should cancel these. Do I need to lower my credit limits first?

I'm thinking that it won't matter. But we know the experts will chime in too :)

I just want to take a second to thank everyone on here for answer all of my questions, posting your own questions and successes, and walking me through this process!

DH said yesterday that Disneyland next year is a go, and I owe that to gaining more value out of our everyday spending. We'll have enough points to cover flights, hotels, and tickets (if we choose to cash in some points to do so---I'm leaning towards having points for more airfare and hotels). I'm very grateful for all the time and energy so many of you put into this board.

I was fortunate early on in my life (young 20's) that some wonderful "strangers" on TUG (Timeshare Users Group) helped me strategically buy our timeshare. It changed our lives for the better in so many ways, and we've been fortunate enough to pass that along to so many friends, family, and online friends. I was curious, did any of you have similar experiences? What message boards, mentors, or helpful "strangers" have changed your lives for the better?

Has AmEx typically done a HP for him? If they do, is it the same bureau as what Chase typically pulls? Otherwise I don't think Chase will ever know. He can join the stealth card club, no evidence that card even exists...

I'm not able to catch up properly here for weeks it just moves too fast.... Are people really changing flights off that particular plane model?

For those using the AmEx Plat Uber credits on UberEats, fee increases coming soon - https://www.doctorofcredit.com/uber...15-service-fee-small-order-fee-delivery-fees/

Sounds like pickup time to me. (but then, really? a pickup option on a food delivery service???? What exactly am I paying you for?) If you're stuck with delivery then you might be down to the $2 apple pie at McDonald's to make the credit work.

Initially, I read "Booking fees will be replaced" and thought "oh good," because those tend to be $3.49 to $4.99 here. To avoid the fee, I usually won't order unless Uber runs some kind of promo that waives the fee or gives me some $ off delivery (which are frequent enough), or I'll order from restaurants that aren't charging the fee because I'll be sharing a driver. Then I read "15% [service fee] of an order’s subtotal and then additional delivery fees on top of that," and I started doing some math in my head. If I order anything more than $33, the 15% service fee is worse than the $4.99 that Uber already charges, and that's not counting the additional delivery fee. These fees cut into the value of the Amex Platinum's Uber credit. Because if you're paying $5+ in fees on a $15/month credit, that leaves you maybe $10 worth of food. I don't know about elsewhere, but it's hard to find a decent bite to eat from UberEats in SF for $10. And let's not forget tipping your driver, which a lot of people will feel pressed to do on top of all these fees (I mean, am I wrong to wonder if either the "service" fee of 15% -- the same as many tip -- or the "delivery" fee goes to the driver, or is Uber just making up all these fees to pad their bottom line ahead of their IPO?). I'll be waiting for more promos before using my credits, thank you.

I've never applied for an Amex for him, but I just checked Credit Karma for my account and it appears that Amex must pull Experian for me, because neither of my Amex cards show up under Equifax or Transunion. Chase exclusively pulls Equifax for us. So I'm thinking we should be good to go so long as it stays the same?

I remember reading some time ago that Citi considers total credit limit allocated across all cards, both open and closed, and the common advice is to lower credit limit before closing. I have no idea if that's still true (or frankly, if it was ever true at all). I had two AA personals in 2017 and didn't bother with lowering before closing both. Now I have a DC, Premier, and a recently opened AA personal, plus an AA biz, and they've been giving me progressively higher credit limits, so who knows.

Replying to my own post with another DP on the 2nd CIP. When I posted the above, many suggested the I have DH apply for another CIP. I applied last night around 8:30 and got this message when I applied: We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible. I called the number about 30 minutes later and got the 30 day message. When I called this morning first thing, he was approved! I was nervous applying, but so glad I did!

Thanks for the advice!
Yaa...Congrats party:

Chase can’t see and doesn’t count Amex business cards...if Amex does a hard pull they can see that
