Warning! New FP Limits for Passholders with Multiple Stays - NOT Split Stays: READ Post #484

I don’t know if this s relevant or not . . .i have ten days of FP booked for a stay at Pop starting mid May. No problems booking the FP and actually modified a couple of them today. I am popping over to Epcot tomorrow because I want to pick up the passholder magnet, and I was able to make FP for tomorrow as well, so that is 11 total days of FP. I am a Florida resident with a platinum pass and more than 30 days out from my stay. I was a little concerned that I wouldn’t be able to do either after reading this thread. I guess I will have to wait and see if the FP work tomorrow :flower1:
Say what, now??

You have 11 days of FP, one for tomorrow that you just made and 10 for May??

I get the 10 since it's one stay, but how we're you able to make the one for tomorrow?

Did I understand that right?

Yes, that’s right. I made the ones for the 10 day trip last week, with no problems. Today I went in and modified some of them to tighten the timeframe up a little, and then I made 3 FP for tomorrow at Epcot, with no problems. I was afraid it wouldn’t allow me to make any for tomorrow because of the trip, and was pleasantly surprised when it worked like it should. Maybe they have fixed some of the issues? This was all around 5:30-6:00 this evening.

Here's my guess, and purely a guess. The way the AP FP rules read is that you can have 7 in a 30 day period (w/o an onsite stay). Perhaps (whether intentional or not), the FP system saw the other 10 were more than 30 days out so it allowed for booking another one since it would not overlap 30 day periods. But, who knows. The whole system for AP holders is so bug-riddled right now.

As I was trying to come up with solutions of why this might work, I also thought about this. But I went back and counted up my FP for the next 30 days. I have 3 within the next 30 days and 4 within the second 30 days. I also just tried to make one for today and tomorrow and in late May, and no luck. I'll be able to drop 2 this weekend, but with 9 days of fp needed in May (over three weekends) I'm still down to booking when I use them up.

I thought it was 7 in a 60 day period as long as you have a on site stay? Or 7 in 30 days with no onsite? So, 7 total regardless of 30 or 60 days.

Joining the club of NOT HAPPY about how this is working right now.

I have an ONSITE trip May 4-12 - and I have ZERO FP's booked for it. So yes - I am FP eligible - but I have zero booked.

Then - I have a trip June 1-2 ONSITE (yes, one night) - and it's refusing to let me book FP's for that day.

Then I have a trip June 2-7 ONSITE with 5 days of FP's booked on it.

The stupid system can't even measure 7 days with FP's with on-site stays!!!!

The rules CLEARLY say you are supposed to be able to book for every day you have an onsite resort reservation - so this is all BS. Disney needs to either clearly re-write the rules or fix the system to match the rules.

I hear you!!

Have you called, kwdw? What have they said?
@CaLuCa ~ I posted this in the recent “rolling glitch” thread and it applies to you and other APs:

“In the past when APs had problems with FP booking, emails were sent to George Kalogridis and the result was Anytime FPs added to the MDX account for the complete group of visitors.

If you want to try that, recap the phone conversations, why you purchased an AP, and how you haven’t been able to book your 7-day max.

I am getting kind of nervous about our July trip. I’m not even sure I understand what problems I am likely to encounter when selecting FPs. Can someone help me sort out what problems I’m likely to encounter?

We have a 10 day stay. Right now I am undecided if we are doing all 10 at the same (on site) resort or if I will break into a split stay between two (on site) resorts. I have reservations for both scenarios right now and need to get it figured out pretty soon here; the problems I may/may not encounter are likely to influence which reservation(s) I keep.

Our APs will expire on day 3 of our trip. Last year we encountered this as well, which was a problem when we wanted book CL FPs as the date to book those fell before the date we could renew our APs. A CM from Disney Signature Services (we had a CL stay) was able to get IT to add a “key” to our reservation. Our upcoming stay this summer is also CL, and we would like to book CL FPs.

I am totally confused what issues we are likely to encounter. From what I understand, we would need to get IT to add a “key” again to book the CL FPs. But it sounds like even without the CL FPs, we would only be able to book 7 days of FP?? Am I understanding this correctly?

If so, I am tempted to just buy park tickets (the issue is only applying to Passholders, right? Guests with regular tickets are still able to book 10 days of FP? Even with CL FPs?). Then I could upgrade the tickets to APs while we’re there. Would this solution work?

Help me...I am so confused, lol!

Nobody can say what is going to happen, but you will certainly be more likely to run into issues as an AP holder with a split stay as it is now.

We are still at WDW and have used our first 5 days of FPs of this stay (onsite at Riverside). We have 4 more days remaining, plus 3 days that the CM made FPs for us for our May 24th stay (onsite at BWI). My May 24th FP window is still shut. I can still only see in "blue" the next 30 days.

Plus, I've discovered yet another problem. I can't check for FPs in other parks. When I go to try to check for an FP in a different park, I can't proceed at all. It used to be that you go through the prompts as if you were making FPfrom scratch and you could select a different park. But, it just tells me I've reached the limit and the only option is to remove guests. I can't continue and go through the "warnings." This has made it tough to see if there are better FPs at other parks than what I'm currently holding. @hiroMYhero , any thoughts on this?

That sounds to me like a great solution!

It’s either the locked window on your account or the fact that MDX is glitching. I’m linked to a Mod with an AP and after booking 3 different days of Barnstormer, he’s not even showing up in my Guest list mainly because my complete Guest list disappeared.

I do think it’s your locked FP account because your May onsite window should be open for your complete stay.

I have an AP with a 4-day trip planned for June (67 days from now) at Swan and a 6-day trip planned for July (94 days from now) at Poly. My trip in June is just tagging along to DH's conference, so I'm not really worried about having FPs for it, but my trip in July is a big extended family trip, so I very much care about having FPs for that one. My original plan was to just book FPs for the first day of the June trip when that window opened and then the 6 days of the July trip when that window opened (so 7 days of FPs booked total; 1 in June and 6 in July) and then do the rest of the days in June as I went along so I never exceeded 7 days of FPs at once...but it sounds like some APs are having issues with a second stay opening up at all when the stays are that close together even if they're within their FP limits, right? I'm hoping everything will be fixed before it's an issue, but since I'm booking all of the FPs for the whole group for the July stay, I'm trying to be as prepared for problems as possible...thanks for any info/advice anybody has!

So long as the tickets you purchase cover the number of days you are booking FP for (and in your scenario they would) then buying regular tickets and doing the upgrade at the park should prevent some of the AP glitches people have been having. Just make sure the cost of your ticket is less than the upgrade cost for the AP as I don’t believe they refund any difference.

I'm baffled. Can you make more?

I didn’t try to make additional ones before going over today, but it still allows me to make them tonight for later this week. I think you all may be on to something by speculating that it’s the fact that my trip is more than 30 days out that is allowing me to book random days now.

Ya, I think it is because yours are more than 30 days out so it is letting you make new ones in the 30 days prior, whereas everybody else's issue seems to be that they have FPs for the next 30 days so it isn't letting them go beyond that.
