Wondering whats the renovation situation now, heading out at the end of August.....

Hi everyone! We are staying at AKL in October in a Savannah view room. Which Savannah should I request? Is there any difference in them? I would love to have a view with the zebra and giraffe.

Hi I just got back. We stayed on Kudu trail. There were zebras, giraffes and a couple of others. We enjoyed it very much. I will say the animals were out about 7 pm but not in the morning. We were in our room till 11 and didn't see them. Not sure if this is usual.

Enjoy it is our favorite resort. Club level was a surprise bonus. Great time.

Apologize in advance if this question has been answered elsewhere in the thread, how easy is it to get back and forth from AK to the lodge? Time, method, etc. I am planning for reservations at Boma while in the AK park that day.

AKL is very close in proximity to AK park. We usually stay at AKL and always take the Disney buses and I don’t think it’s more than 15 minutes. I’m thinking more like 10. It’s very close. If you give yourself 30 minutes you should be good and arrive a bit early to Boma. Hope that helps!

We arrive next weekend and wondering what the status of construction is as well at AKL. I don't really care if we get a renovated room as much as I want a view with no construction issues. Would love to hear from anyone who has visited within the last week or so.

We just got back too! Stayed on Kudu trail and were also club level. We had the same experience with the animals. They were very active in the evening, not so much in the morning. We saw giraffes and zebra everyday.

Have a great trip! We loved staying at AKL. The only negative was the fire alarm at 11:00 at night that evacuated the entire building!!! I still have no idea what happened.

We had a savannah view room on kudu trail and did not see any construction from our room. The only construction we saw was painting happening on the exterior of the building when we were at the pool.

It took less than 5 minutes on the bus to get from Jambo house to AK. I was shocked at how fast it was.

The pool isn’t closed. There is simply some exterior painting going on in the pool area. It has no impact on the operating hours etc...

PHEW! Okay sorry I was a little worried for a second lol. We have a pool view room so I wasn't sure if I should upgrade

You might see some construction vehicles (cranes) in that area as they do the exterior painting. But it’s also possible that they’ll have moved on from that area by Labor Day weekend.

I agree! I'm hoping for some pixie dust and an upgrade to savanna view but i'm not holding out for anything. i like the room we booked at

We stayed at AKL in February and the first thing I noticed was how terribly dated the rooms look. Granted, we had just stayed one night in a 2bdr villa at Copper Creek WL . Anyways, we are staying at AKL again Nov 20-26 in a standard view room and am wondering if I’d be asking too much for a renovated room and an obstructed savannah view? Haha.

Do you plan on heading back to AK after dinner? The reason I ask is that the walk from Discovery Island (let alone anywhere else in the park) to the buses is long. Whenever we have thought or planned on leaving AK (or even eating at RFC in the front of the park) and returning but by the time we finish our meal that walk ends up being something we just have no interest in doing. Between Tiffins, Tusker House, Yak and Yeti (which is better now than it used to be, IMO), Satu'li and Flame Tree, there are more than enough options to just stay in the park.

First time staying at AKL. SO so excited.

It's BFs first Disney trip in decades, so I'm looking to show him a good time.

I know there are partial savannah view Jambo studios, but are their partial views for a standard one bedroom? I’m not finding anything on touring plan. Thank you!

Staying at AKL for the first time from 11/7 - 11/16 (Standard room)... Any idea if the refurbishments are finished by then?
Hoping for a quite, refurbished room with partial Savannah view, don't mind the distance to lobby and busses. Any recommendations regarding room requests? Thank you!
