I am so excited for these new attraction overlays during the parties! Especially Monsters Inc. It is one of our favourites at WDW so our time at the parties we are attending will be very well used :santa:

Is there merchandise available ONLY at the Christmas party? we thought we might want to get special Christmas sweatshirts, but if there is selection that is exclusive to the party we might wait to purchase. TIA! :santa:

Yes, they always have a selection of party exclusive items.

Hmmm... no mention of the Jingle Cruise in that DPB post. :scratchin Wonder if that overlay will be like last year and just appear with no notice or mention.

Intrigued by the Speedway overlay. That sort of sounds like something that could be in place non-MVMCP nights too, no? Or they'll just turn the lights off on non-party nights?

In unrelated news, we were at WDW this past week and Poly's Thursday activities were "Christmas in July" themed. I hadn't even realized it was half-way to Christmas that day until we saw the signs up that morning with the special events. It was an unexpected resort treat!

This is true...but last year they were selling the MVMCP merch (what was left over of it) in the parks, to anyone, the week of 12/21-12/27. I was really surprised by this, because I don't remember that happening on previous trips (but maybe I just didn't notice). We ended up buying a couple of extra shirts because we couldn't resist, lol.

Isn't Jingle Cruise all the time, though? I think it's not ONLY during the party. It's my understanding that these overlays are party exclusive.

Yes, you're correct, Jingle Cruise is all the time and the focus on the DPB post was MVMCP special overlays. Just thought we might see a reference to it among the list of holiday-themed things.

rides - I do not do roller coasters - so only 3 rides open I will do - worth it ?
Food - healthy options - what are they ?
Not sure if we should get a ticket ?

Design that is similar to the ones seen each year. The red design with the almost Ugly Christmas sweater design on the bottom. The last two years, designs were very similar but this year the colors might be the same but not the design! We are celebrating holiday park treats!

I love the one for the festival of the holidays!! Is that Epcot? Wonder if they would sell it outside of Epcot if it is! We’re just going to MVMCP this year!

If your there for the meet & greets for characters that are otherwise not out or available during normal park hours, then yes, its worth it.

when you say only 3 rides are open that you would do, would you want to do them repeatedly when your not standing in line to 'meet' a character? if not, then no its not worth it.

food wise, check out the list of restaurants that are open during the party and look at their menus to see if there are any "healthy" options. the snacks they give out for free are not on the healthy side as its usually cookies and hot chocolate.

I love the Chip & Dale nuts about the holidays Jersey! I’m going to have to pick one up in November! 😍😆 thanks for the post!!

My wife and I (early 30's) will be in Orlando from Dec 1st - 6th celebrating our anniversary and want to do a day at Epcot and MVMCP one evening. Originally had planned on Dec 3 MVMCP and Dec 5 Epcot, but with the announcement that Rise of the Resistance is opening Dec 5th I'm rethinking my plan.

I'm thinking Epcot will be less busy on Dec 4th but what are your thoughts on the 3rd vs 5th for MCMCP?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the new fireworks?! Do you think they will be more projection based like HEA?
Disney has been saying it will be enjoyed from across the park which makes me think it's less projection based.

This merry display can be thoroughly enjoyed from most locations throughout Magic Kingdom park—including Liberty Square, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

IDK... I can "enjoy" the fireworks portion of HEA from Liberty Square and Frontierland and even outside of the park. There is even a dessert party in Tomorrowland on the terrace. Considering all the recent nighttime shows in all of the parks and holiday additions, I think it will be projection heavy.

I tend to agree, especially since one of the articles I read mentioned “scenes” on the castle. But time will tell!

Ah but can you "thoroughly" enjoy them? 😄
