Size of POFQ?

I’m looking into booking a few nights at POFQ to close out my WDW honeymoon next fall. I’m trying to figure out how large the resort is and how long it takes to walk everywhere? Is it worth paying extra (currently about $25/night) for a Pool view (to guarantee centralized location close to everything)??

Thoughts? Opinions?

We love POFQ! It is very compact. We generally book river view rooms. Can get to food court and transportation (bus/boat) in just a few minutes! Definitely worth $25/night in my opinion! Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Enjoy your Disneymoon!

I stayed there with DD12 in November. We loved it. We had building 4 and our room faced the parking lot/bus stop. It was an easy 2 minute walk to the bus stop. The entire resort is so small and easily accessible. I personally wouldn't pay the extra but if you want to go for it. It is your honeymoon! Congrats!

I've been in the "outer" buildings, and it was still a quick walk to the bus/pool.

I wouldn't bother.

I like POFQ and find any location to be acceptable. I would not pay extra for any view in POFQ because it is compact enough for my family.

As others have pointed out, it’s a very small resort. And we love it!

One of the things we most like is how very quiet it is. But the pool area is the one exception, what with frolicking kids and families having fun. So if you stay poolside you’ll be giving that up during pool hours.

There are several other things we also REALLY like:

- The location is really close to Epcot and MK. Bus rides are quick.

- The boat ride to Disney Springs is truly cool and enjoyable (and convenient)

- The food court is quiet and relatively small. The menu is terrific (we love the prime rib and the shrimp and grits).

- The live music in the bar area is really enjoyable.

Have fun!

enjoy POFQ; just a beautiful resort; can't think of a nicer place to stay on your honeymoon.

POFQ was on my bucket list. A few years ago we were booked already when my daughter got an FD PIN and French Quarter was included. This was when the MODs got the DDP. Best trip ever!
We were in building 4, Garden View, close to the foot court and the bus stop was behind the back side of the building.

It's not large at all, as others have said its pretty compact and a short walk everywhere. Last year did a solo trip in September, and was in building 5, opposite side of where the pool is. It was a matter of minutes to get to the food court and the buses. It is a quiet and beautiful resort, I am sure you will enjoy it!

one of the smaller resorts. You can go from end to end in 7 minutes.

We never ever pay for "views".

I concur with all the above posters about the walk from one end to the other being 5 minutes or so. We we stayed there, I opted for Riverview every time and requested a King corner room. I love POFQ resort. The pool is good. The food court is good (Riverside's is better to me), I like the one stop for buses, and the landscaping is lovely. if you google, there is a website dedicated to portorleans

Have fun.

Thank you everyone! I’m going to book it tonight! After reading all of these I think I’ll request building 4
