When Will People Start Camping Out at WDW for SWGE Opening?

Can you elaborate on this a little more? I was reading this thread hoping to find out if Olga’s was taking walk ups. We will be going to the EEMH a few times the week it opens. We don’t have reservations for anything .
Are you saying that reservation holders line up and every time that line moves, you have to check with cms? That seems like it’s going to be a crazed mess. Ugh

Sorry for the late response...it is basically as yulilin3 said but at the time of the AP preview they did not say we could go to the podium and when we were finally in the real line and next to get in the CM at the podium was telling people to check with the CM's at the end of the line so it may also depend on how long the line is. I will say that I understand they are "new" to the procedure and it's a new land but the CM's handling the line were very unDisney in the way they handled those of us that had been waiting when they let randoms that hadn't in. Honestly the procedure creates "chaos" when none needs to be created which can only make it more frustrating for the CM's

You waited in the line with guests who had reservations. You waited in the wrong line.
Waiting in the wrong line doesn't always get you a pass to the front of the right line.

Will you have to be inside HS to access the VQ or just your resort ?

They have not said, but at DL you needed to have entered either park first before joining a boarding group

I was told about the VQ while here about 10 days ago. I was told that yes you will need to be inside HS you create a boarding group. Once made you can leave till your time to enter
And like FP you must all be on MDE together to make your party

Actually we waited beyond the line for the guest with reservations leaving a good sized area for them to enter at least two umbrellas worth, when they told us we couldn't form a line several people stepped back a bit further I went to the side against the wall which was closer but still not in the reservation line. That was when they let people that had come from the Smugglers Run area without reservations (this was confirmed by the CM) into the line when they could clearly see the other people that they knew had been waiting int the standby "line" because as they told us you have to ask them. Nice try though. I'm not one of those "karen's" that expects everything given to me especially when they can't follow rules.

I just think that not having a separate standby line for possible standbys creates a chaos and frustration for both guests and CM alike that doesn't need to happen

I thought that I would see people with tents camped out when touring HS last week

I was over there around 6:00 PM and spoke to guest services. Was told that they close AND clear the parking lot. Not body would be allowed in after park close. There was no one queued up for entry at that time. Was also told that buses will start running from resorts at 3:15. I have also been texting with someone at guest services and have been told that’s people with a Savis or Droid Builder reservation woild be allowed into the land and that they could bring a guest.

So...we are back at our hotel and are going to queue up for our but around 2:30am and make our way in with my Savis reservation.

Was just approached by Orlando PD and was informed that we are in fact not allowed to camp outside of security. They will be telling guests to vacate the premises after HS clears for the night. Several other people hovering around the area were told the same. Stay tuned 4 updates

I had my fun at AP Preview, and it is cool. But I stopped camping a few decades ago. I didn't vote because I didn't want to be a party pooper but I seriously didn't see them letting anyone drive in to the lot before maybe 4-5 am and expected the whole camping thing would be a straight up no. If nothing else for security reasons ... and what it would cost them.

Also wish those good luck and dry weather. I shall follow from afar.

No just curious how all was playing out so I read along with a few on twitter I knew were trying. And the few who camped out all day in front of the tunnel hoping for a soft opening today. Figured that would be another no go. They had an army of CMs blocking the tunnel.

My kids did the 4 am arrival for Star Wars Weekends and I drove them there. And after seeing the folks camping out in front of the gate as we left park night before curious. But the new setup .... no way I could imagine them letting people camp all night.
