What's the most you've paid per person for one meal?

Most expensive at WDW was V&A with the wine pairing. done several times and worth every penny.
Most expensive, a restaurant in Chicago.

My 10 yr anniversary dinner was at Alinea...$2k thanks to a nice bottle of red.

Had a client dinner in NYC where the wine drinking went off the rails $11k for 8 of us. Expense report on that was fun explaining.
WDW I feel meals are usually reasonably priced relative to home. But I do laugh at the trip where I came home and had 12 $32 charges over 3 days at the French slushy stand in Epcot.

At Disney it would be at YSH. We had 2 apps, 2 entrees, a side dish ,a dessert and 2 glasses of wine plus tip & tax . It ran about $120.00 each. Real world was Emeril's Delmonico in Vegas a few years ago it was $140.00 each.

In WDW-V&A-several years ago though (2004) over $300 - we had wine but by the glass, not pairings. Still remember this meal
Jiko last year for anniversary (apps, mains, dessert, bottle of wine) was well over $300-well worth it. Amazing meal
Outside of Disney-The Mansion in Dallas-don't remember the total cost, just shocked at the bill (at the time-young, first really expensive place on our own-although DH company paid for it as his boss told him to "take me somewhere nice" as a reward for good job-don't think the boss expect that nice LOL), and I think it was in the W hotel in DC-took my DD out for a "good" dinner during her senior trip I took her on. I had to convince her to order whatever she wanted as she was a bit intimidated at the prices. I'd saved for over a year for that trip, fully intending at least one splurge!
We've been to several really nice places in Chicago when DH's company foots the bill :)

For an Anniversary trip in Las vegas at Gordon Ramsay Steak for me and DH ran about $400.

We have V & A Chef Table reservations coming up on the 15th which will surpass that as we are doing the wine pairing as well :)

In the real world, our anniversary dinner at The Inn at Little Washington last Nov: there was a comma involved.

How was it? We live close-ish but V&A has ruined us, apparently. We ate at Volt in Frederick for my 30th birthday, and while it was a lovely evening, it was not quite up to the standards of V&A (but was close in price).

Fabulous. Service was friendly, helpful and not at all pretentious. We are wine drinkers so had lovely conversations with the sommelier about wines and pairings. The wine is what kicked the price up plus the cheese course with Sauternes. I highly recommend it; we stayed at a B&B in town so no driving worries.

Oh be still my beating heart. Scurrying over to google and check out the wine list, LOL

Wowsa. $750!
Per person? That can't be right. :(

Our most expensive was $260 for 2 at Morton's in Toronto and we only went because we had a $200 gift card. My wife does better steak on the BBQ at home.

Way too many, though luckily Im on always on the dining plan and it doesnt come as a huge blow at the end of the meal! Im thinking our over $400 meal at Cali Grill for 2 adults and one child, though it included two alcoholic beverages before alcohol was added to the DP.

Worst value was probably the $40pp meal at Trattoria al Forno we just ate last week.

The table pastries were so dry and not even edible...

This tower of pancakes was $40.

I got scrambled eggs and toast. I think it had potatoes too..dont remember! My husband got a decent breakfast that probably could have been worth about $40 at Disney.

Then the best part was when the waitress put the check down in front of me and circled where to write in her tip :)

Cute to see the characters once, but even on the dining plan, it was a horrible value with insulting service (though she was nice until that point, so I did tip her well)

That value was right up there with the $25 mini box of fruitloops my DD got 2 years ago at BOG !!

All the times I did Victoria and Albert's, of course LOL. One time, in particular, because I did both the wine pairings and felt like trying caviar which you had to pay for a la carte by the ounce my entire bill with the tip came to over $500 for just me. I was dining solo. An extravagant indulgence, for sure but yes, it was glorious and I loved every morsel, including that caviar, which I had never had of such high quality before.

This thread is eye-opening for me!

Hundreds/thousands of dollars for a single meal???

The most I've EVER spent on food is for our "fancy" steakhouse - about $175 for 2 people. And I swore I would never spend that much on food again.

Everyone is saying that V&A is worth it, but when a single meal is the equivalent of 1/10 of the savings for the next family vacation - there's no way I'm spending that much money on food.

Most 1st world residents have some sort indulgence(s) in this life time. It could be electronics, a car, traveling, etc. For this thread's purpose it's all about the food:).

I totally get what you’re saying! My DH surprised me with V&A to celebrate our anniversary but prior to that, we used to gently poke fun at the “snooty” people who must eat there. We’re not wealthy but we decided to save in some areas and splurge in others. There were definitely years that no amount of scrimping and saving could have made that expensive of a meal happen, so I’m just grateful we could do it! But if that’s not your thing, you do you!

Definitely Victoria and Albert's - over 1 grand for 2 people (I guess close to 600 per person)!
Other than that when we do Daniel in NYC its only maybe 250-300 per person - but we never do a wine pairing at Daniel.

Maybe 60-70 per person.

Agreed.

We're in the DC area - The Inn is on our aspirational list!

The most expensive was V&A at the Chef's table with the wine parings years and years ago. I think our total was around $500 plus tip for both of us. Our friends went to V&A a few months ago in Queen Victoria's room and spent $1000 with tip. They are (literally) multimillionaires so it didn't hurt as much as it would for most people. That being said, I bet that V&A's books that room every night.
