Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I didnt find the answer in the intro to this thread, and this thread is long!

We will be staying at Pop at the end of October and would love to ride the Skyliner to Epcot. I read that we will need to reboard at the CBR on the way from Pop to Epcot. Will we have to get back in the general line at CBR, or is there a seperate line/area who have already waited in line for the first leg of the trip?

Where did you read that? It doesn't look that wide in the video.

I think part of it in that freeze frame is the angle off to the side, as well as the lens used for the shot.

The wheelchair a few seconds later goes straight in with tons of room in a straight-on shot. Taking a photo off to the side opposite from people can make the opening look bigger still.

Looking at the past videos of straight-on looks at empty cabins at the DHS station, I'd guess it's at least 30" clear opening. Doesn't seem narrow to me.

You will have to get off and transfer to the other line at CBR much like at the TTC with the monorail. The line will move fast and everyone will be in the same line.

Truthful answer: No one really knows until it opens at the end of this month whether lines will be a thing and how long they will get.

Joel posted this graphic earlier in the thread, as to how the separate lines meet at CBR:

Speculative answer:
Basically you get off from Pop at the lower left, then have to cross to the middle right in order to board to Epcot. The stream of people coming from Pop/AoA will somehow have to merge with people entering at CBR. I could guess Cast Members would be on hand to direct traffic somehow at busy times. Right now we're all kind of guessing that this will only be an issue leaving parks at park close (mass crowds leaving at once) and not heading to the parks during the day or even in the morning.

If that theory holds out, then it probably won't be bad. You'd have twice as many gondolas arriving from DHS and Epcot as there are going to Pop/AoA, but DHS and Epcot don't always clear out at the same time. Also, a chunk of the people getting off will be exiting at CBR, and there'll likely be very few walking in from CBR to go to Pop/AoA at night (Pop/AoA guests dining at Sebastian's or visiting family/friends at CBR?).

Time will tell. Less than 2 weeks away!

Doppelmayr lists it as 900 mm on their website. Someone up thread (awhile ago) posted a spec sheet that said the same.
That's actually on the newest Omega V model. It seems that Disney got the Omega IV which has an 820mm or 32.28" door opening.

(oops - didn't see @OSUZorba's last post. The video here is teed up to the door width.)

Yes, I remember reading that the door opening met ADA standard, but with pretty much nothing to spare.

Spent a little while watching them leaving epcot tonight and boy will it be dark up there in sections cannot wait to ride in February

Forgive the intrusion, nothing helpful to report...for some reason just SO freakin excited about current CM previews :hyper:

As we all are, I’ve been following along since announced :listen:

18 days going back to our Disney “home” CBR...thought I loved before...:goodvibes

Gonna freakin rock OUT getting to experience direct Skyliner to our two favorite parks...:cloud9:

Thankful for buses bc “free” (after you pay your soul to go ) and anything to keep DH from stress of traffic :headache:...but we all know how bus rides go...not like it’s fun or anything ;)

I used to be SOOOO tempted into an Epcot Deluxe for location (before breakdown of cost & for our budget, swallowing my tongue )...thank you Disney for this one (and only :rotfl2:) incentive to save money...

That’s it, carry on and pay this crazy excited person no mind
