Halloween Time Superthread 2019: "Oogie Boogie Bash" Party to Be Held in DCA ONLY! and Other Halloween Time Information

Going Solo- This was my first time going solo to a party. I go to DL often solo and meet up with my friends. So this was a little different. I do think it would have been fun to go with people, but I am glad that I went solo because I got to do what I wanted.

I think that is a good way to do. I am thinking about going Solo next year or if I go with anyone, telling them we can go our separate ways and do our thing and meet up at the end. There's always so much to do and it seems like people always want to do different things. Not enough time to make everyone happy.

I am really excited to see some of the HM characters, but unfortunately, we will be in DL Monday, Oct 28th through Saturday, November 2nd. We were originally going to go to the parks Tuesday through Saturday (7 am to noon because we leave that day), but now I am wondering if we should change and go Monday (arrival day) through Friday and skip Saturday so that I can see at least one of the HM characters. How likely is it that the HM characters will be out on Halloween? If I knew I had a chance to see them that day, we would probably keep our original plan. Thanks for any help!

At this point, I don't know if DLR has said anything about how long the Haunted Mansion characters are going to be meeting guests (it could just be for HalloweenTime, it could be tied into the Haunted Mansion's 50th Anniversary, or something else ). I would try sending Guest Services a message (either via email or direct message through Twitter) and see if they have any information about the schedule for the HM characters.

The man at the meet (in a button down shirt, not a HM CM) said they would only be there through this month. Not sure how accurate that is though.

It’s kind of confusing. Villains grove is the area near grizzly river run. The characters are near the opening that leads to little mermaid . The walkthrough which is red wood creek challenge doesn’t have any characters. That has all the lights and a long line which extends down to the hotel. Hope that makes sense.

Just keep an eye on this thread! Knowing where things are really does help! That's how I was so productive. I knew exactly what characters I wanted to see. Plus knowing what to expect when it comes to lines and entertainment is a plus!

To help with some of the confusion between Villains Grove and the Villains M&G.

• Villains Grove is in the Redwood Challenge Trail area. The line forms on the side of the pathway closest to the GCH and extends towards the GCH entrance.
• The Villains M&G is across from the bathrooms near GRR/Little Mermaid (the backdrop is GRR's waterwheel). That line forms on the GRR side of the pathway.
• The Evil Queen treat trail starts near the entrance to the GRR and exits near the Villains M&G.
• Also in the area is the Mickey & Minnie M&G (just beyond the GRR viewing area, kind of near where the cats are often seen). Closer to Soarin' is the Disney Afternoon M&G.

I saw this from gothic Rosie. On the comments people mention it was Walmart Black Friday style to get merchandise. Same on her Facebook and the AP page I’m on. I’m assuming it is true since so many people are mentioning the same thing at the same location (on BVS) but I wanted to know if anyone on here saw on anything. Sounds crazy.

Thanks for mentioning the location (I'm assuming Elias & Co.? Or was it another store?). I wasn't sure if it happened at a store or at a kiosk. And why that party and not an earlier one? The wristband checking rule has been well publicized by now.

I think the fall crowds have arrived. Went today from about 8:30-2 and it was pretty crowded. Haunted mansion reached 100 minutes at one point. I have a feeling that may have been due to big thunder breaking down and everyone coming over to use the fastpass. The fastpass line also extended outside of the gates and along the brick wall. We waited 30 minutes for popcorn near there too.

On the bright side! We got pictures with Maleficent today! We were coming out of the castle walk through and there she was! Also saw Evil Queen and Merida!

I have a feeling that may have been due to big thunder breaking down and everyone coming over to use the fastpass. The fastpass line also extended outside of the gates and along the brick wall. We waited 30 minutes for popcorn near there too.

We were there Monday late afternoon/evening and it was crowded...I was surprised. HM was 90 minutes at one point. We got in line at 45 minutes around 9:30 but waited longer than that.
