Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

Problems on the Epcot line. In line at the IG station, and rope has stopped twice for several minutes. Warning bell rang like it was restarting a couple of times, but it stayed stopped. Running now.

What would be the motivation to add on at resorts like OKW and SSR when they are sold out DVC only resorts?

You have a point but these two resorts will have their contracts up before many others. So this would likely be long term. You also have cash reservations that stay there as well.

That’s true. My first thought was just how do they get the most $$$ out of an expansion, so my mind went to new DVC builds (and increasing desirability at some majority cash resorts). Also I would worry how this would impact on the MK area from Reflections, but that’s getting ahead of ourselves here.

I just remember when Riviera was first rumored and the consensus was this is “moderate DVC”, and I think announcing the skyliner really helped change the perception.

I can't believe stupid Disney would install these without heaters!!!!
All you need is me on board! One of my nicknames in school was Radiator because I put off a lot of heat. People would gather around me in the winter to keep warm. That’s why I am only riding the Skyliner in the late fall and winter.

I am really looking forward to my Pop trip in December, since I usually spend a lot of time in World Showcase on that trip. I am sure any hiccups in training and procedures will be worked out by then.

Pass improved Disney Springs transportation costs to DVC member dues (DVC members have a transportation cost line item) in a way that doesn’t impact Disney resort profits?

Emergency call box is a button. It calls the main station and you can talk to a cast member.

Um, hoping this is just a "everyone excited for opening day" line - otherwise I might need to eat some crow over how efficient the system will be

It seems crazy to me that this is a "normal" amount of people queuing in the middle of the day. I've been at bus stops at CBR mid afternoon and there's usually like 10 people waiting at the stop. I guess I could be wrong but this seems like people hopping on from the parks because they want to get on the new shiny thing opening day.

Also, is there some specific reason why they couldn't build the Riviera station a little bigger and add the secondary ECV load area? Trying to remember from way back but can't.

I’m sure opening day and the novelty of it all will play into it for a bit, but I feel like it’s always going to be fairly busy at CBR heading to Epcot this time of day. Lots of people heading to WS for dinner.

Yeah, probably combination - plus Food and Wine and last weekend of Illuminations probably adding people too
