Is there a way to see what rooms are available at any given time without trying each resort? I am retired and can travel pretty much anytime. I often travel with only a few months (or less) to plan. Is there a chart I can look at to see what DVC rooms might be available in a certain month?

There’s a “Last Minute Getaways” tab on the Members’ website but it isn’t in real time. Availability is fluid. The only way to “see” what’s definitely available for any given dates is to log into your member account and choose “select all WDW resorts”.

I would strongly consider if DVC is for you.
That short of a notice, depending on the length of stay, you are pretty much going to be limited to the Poly Bungalows, then PERHAPS SSR and OWK.
And should you still do it, buy the cheapest points you can get since you will never be using the 11 month advantage

In all fairness, OP didn’t say they were looking to buy a DVC. Could be looking to rent. OP could also have points and just looking to spend. A lot of it depends on personal preference. We don't know if it's for a single nights, week long stays, or even if they're looking for WDW only. The more flexibility the more availability and it's amazing how much flexibility there is when you're a single college kid or a retired empty nester.

Just as an example in October WDW, which is pretty much a peak time of year there's currently the following availability.

There's some 5 day/4 night trips that fit in there and multiple 3 day/2 night trips, that's enough to travel on with less than a month's notice.

**Edited to remove availabiltiy.

You are correct, the OP did not specify. That being said, the answer to the question was given by @Marionnette and the only way to get the information sought after is thru the member website, and, well MEMBER is the key word, so renting.....not much help....

FYI, unless things have changed, we are not supposed to post availability on here.

I just thought the OP was a member and wasn't aware of the RAT.
OP, if you are a member, you can go onto the site and just look at real time availability.

Good luck and let us know what exactly you were looking for in your circumstance.

That's not true. Availability can be found from various rental site tools as I posted above. They don't require any payment, login, registration, or to be a member. That's how I pulled the availability, not from Disney's member website.

FYI, unless things have changed, we are not supposed to post availability on here.

Wasn't aware of that rule, any reason? I'm not offering to make any reservations for people here.

Because availability is fluid and can change between the time you check and the time that someone reads your post. It also is not an indicator of how many villas are available, just that there is at least one.

Fair enough, removed the specific dates. I posted them just as an example as the tool is still useful though, especially when you're not a member.

If you’re a member, you don’t need that tool. If you’re trying to rent, the same caveat applies.

The tool is just a snapshot in time. It’s not an indicator of which villas are available at the time your rental request goes thru or how many remain. Nor is it a sign that the rental agency has an owner with the right points available to make that reservation. The only thing that it is useful for is letting a potential renter know that there isn’t a snowball’s chance of getting what they want because there is no availability.

If we allowed availability requests, the boards would be inundated with them and as mentioned earlier, they aren't very useful, anyway.

The issue with such 3rd party tools is they just can not be as accurate as the member page. They would have to continually do an HTTP Post against the member website to get the availability real time which Disney would shut down as a denial of service attack. Its probably done once a day or so, and can be very inaccurate, particularly with short notice requests, where availability could mean literally 1 or 2 rooms of a certain room type. And when it's that few, it can change in literally minutes. Sure, if 100 studios are available at SSR one night mid October, it probably wont become unavailable in a day, but if there are only 2....

They could have some use, but I certainly would not base any monetary action on the information gotten from one.

Finally, the tool could actually be a disservice. A date range could show as unavailable, so you don't request it as a rental. By the time the broker gets points to rent, that spot could be open.

I think those are all valid points, and fine to point out. The OP asked if there’s such a tool, there is. With the caveat that it may not be real time, etc.

I know I used multiple availability tools to help me with my home resort selection decisions to project current and future availability, and not necessarily for booking. It gave me a general sense of what’s obtainable and what’s unrealistic - this was before the availability tool had 2BR availability on here.

So I was just trying to be helpful given it was something that was helpful to me, didn’t realize it’d cause such a big stink resulting in me being flagged for it.

I looked over some DVC rental sites, and I saw people discounting points that need to be used by 12/1/19. At one site I noticed many points with this restriction being sold for $10 per pt or under! As I look I wonder how anyone would ever be able to take advantage of that - especially if they don't know the current availability!
Still, If you have the flexibility and could string together a few nights (I live on the west coast so I would want 4 at a min) it would be a great deal!

Ya, and then you have to rely on the owner of those points to stalk the RAT (or waitlist) to get the room and dates you want.

We took advantage of discounted points from one of the brokers. We wanted to add on a night at the beginning of our September trip about 6 weeks out. They had points at $10 that needed to be used by the end of August (we were looking to add Aug 31). Their site only allows for renters to select SSR when attempting to book discounted points but told me to just mention any other resorts in the comments. Being a member I was able to watch for availability and ended up getting a SV Studio at Kidani.

FWIW, the DVC "last minute" page is fully open without a login. It is updated Mondays and is not real time. It is a 60-day view. If you're renting, you'd be reliant on finding someone with points AND the units still being open.

THAT is an amazing tool for tyring to use those last minute points! Applause all around....

Looking at the chart there, the take home would be to use the points for a 1 bedroom at Aulani....
