Waking up early is ok when it's for a trip! Haven't really been up before 8am in months, lol!! Truthfully I sleep until 9am most days...I'll get up earlier for (a) vacations, (b) golf, and (c) kids activities on the weekend. Yeah, I'm strange...I sleep in on work days and get up early on vacations and weekends!!

At any rate, budgeted enough time this morning to put a quick Chase application in. Sitting at 2 weeks (yeah I call within seconds after receiving the "pending" screen). Hopefully that'll convert to approved Sunday night and I'll hold a new card within a week and a half or so!

It totally is, I was in the hot seat with DW after booking three nearly free trips to WDW in a single year. I look I got when I talked about planning one last quick trip before the APs expired, nightmares for weeks!

I’ve been busy this morning. Heading to Cary, NC to see a friend shortly so I had to do my errands while ds was at football practice. Hit up Lowe’s using chase offer and bought a Kroger gift card. Then went to Kroger and bought visa gift cards, Disney gift card, target gift card, and universal gift card. Then on to Home Depot to use my happy guy gift card on a Disney gift card (first time I’ve tried this). Finally off to target to pick up ds’ adhd meds. Paying with gift cards Helps a lot since it’s $257/30 days.

I think tomorrow I’ll hit up staples for a $200 visa (split tender on two chase cards with offers) then make one more trip to Kroger. 41 days until ds has her license and we can fill two cars up at once!

Would also like to add that as a Dental Hygienist I know not to talk about politics or religion with my patients. Now I’m adding using credit cards for there bonuses and perks to that list. HOLY COW people think I’m going to end up in financial ruin. Soo..that kind of “crazy” talk I’ll have to save for here! Haha! People are PASSIONATE about the DANGERS of credit cards.

And yet, they always want to hear about my latest travels.

Yeah, lots of people think you’ll go broke or ruin your credit. Plus I feel like I can’t share info with people who might actually get themselves into trouble by overspending. Mostly I keep quiet. If people ask about trips, I tell them what I’m up to and say I paid with miles and leave it at that.

I downgraded my Disney from Premier to regular this summer. Yesterday I got the email to upgrade to the Premier for a $100 statement credit. Is that the deal people had a couple months ago? Or was it a $200 credit? @PolyRob I think you upgraded...

Yep, got the $100 upgrade last summer. Gonna downgrade soon...

I find ebags ups the price when other discounts apply. Nor at least it did for me when I tried to use ebates.

I always check multiple permutations when I shop ebags. Their prices change a lot depending on codes and discounts.

Don’t you have at least one kid in school? You don’t get up to see them off to school? Even if I tried to sleep late, my kid would be having none of that. Hug goodbye is a minimum requirement.

I am the same. I do between 20-30K steps most days and am fine but make me stand still for 10 minutes and I feel like I am going to die. I also look like Bambi taking her first steps if I sit too long. Do stairs bother you as well? I can do them without too much pain but I feel like my knees are going to buckle so I need a rail.

I can’t actually do stairs. I have to do one stair at a time like a toddler. After knee surgery, my leg is not strong enough to do stairs. Going down is the worst. Evacuating from a high floor in a hotel during fire alarm was awful.

I bought a Ticketmaster gift card at my Kroger store last night, and they were not kidding about making changes. Cashier first asked if I had gotten a phone call from anyone asking for money, said there was credit card fraud, and I was like, I just want to buy show tickets?! Then he looked at my DL and my credit card to make sure names matched, looked at my face closely. He had already done all the cartful of groceries I put in there too, so it wasn't just a gift card I was buying. Ugh, normally I go thru the SCO line so I'll try that next time, but I don't have a good feeling about this. P2 is not going to like having to put in any effort...

In good news, I qualified for a free year trial of Apple+ TV. When the iPhone11 came out, the iPhone8 dropped in price and I wanted wireless charging capability (because of my new car). Well, Apple is offering the free year trial to anyone who bought a new iDevice since 9/10/19. I bought my phone on 9/11/19! So far I can't really tell if it's good, but it's free so that's good.

Same in this house. We get up early for vacation and kid sports or in DH's case if he needs to work during Sunday down time.

If you get a chance eat at Low Country Backyard on HHI. Such good food and if it's nice you can eat in their fun outdoor courtyard. The best banana pudding too!!!

Guys, wait for this!!! I just booked 3 1st class flights to Sydney on Qantas for 488k points for the end of July 2020! Thanks to the 20% offer on MRs that was only 407k MRs. I am over the moon excited! It will be our 20th anniversary and we went to Australia for our honeymoon. I still need to get us home and we may be peasants doing that but I am ok with that. Let the planning begin!!!

I only have had one Delta card and I closed it when the AF hit after 1 year. I never fly Delta and have a really, really , really hard time using Delta miles. In fact, I'm still sitting on a pile of them with no prospect in site of using. I remember where you live but not sure if you are a Delta hostage or not.

I did like the Amex plat card but not for $550 a year. Nothing they could throw at me made that worth it.

I was in Chicago but moved to Michigan. I kept using MDW for SW nonstops to MCO for most of the 1st couple of years. But Delta has really reasonable flights out of Detroit to the little airport where my DH lives. I found that I really like DTW, it's an awesome airport with several Delta lounges. They are also one of the few airlines that flies into Melbourne which is super convenient for me to visit my vaca home. I used to hate Delta but I think they have upped their game. They and DTW are a winning combination for me. The flight I take to MLB is through ATL you should see if that is a reasonable option for you, in case you wanted to visit the Vero Beach area
I hear you on the Plat but it gets me into the Delta lounges (DTW and ATL) for free, that with reimbursing me $150 for my 3 week old Ray Ban's (lost in the Atlantic while at Vero) within 24 hours of my claim with no questions asked makes it my favorite card.
