That’s true I never thought about the shower thing. I’ll just have to take my clothes into the bathroom with me lol.

In Barcelona, a lot of the boutique hotels the shower is kind of open and there are only glass doors. I looked at thousands of hotel room pictures before picking a hotel. The wall separating the bedroom from the shower was frosted glass with a painting on it. You couldn't see through it, but it was still kind of odd. It was funny reading the trip advisor reviews. Not everyone travels with a significant other. Some people travel with friends or kids and were a little shocked at the lack of privacy. It makes you appreciate American hotel chains.

I am leaving in one week on our trip to Aruba. Airfare all on AA reward points for our family and brothers. I think I have a pretty low risk of being locked or shutdown but it is still nerve wracking. I check my account every day and do the receipt trick too. So far everything is fine. Crossing fingers it stays that way.

What is the receipt trick?

I must have missed that conversation while in India so thanks for posting this link. I've just been comparing the Chase and Amex options with using UR or Hyatt points. In a few cases, it would be worth it to pay cash using one of the collections because of the free breakfast and f&b credits.

The Disney Visa gives 10% off at select Disney restaurants. We will be eating at a few of them. The Chase Sapphire Reserve would give us 3% on our good purchases.

Sorry I didn’t realize that. I thought it only gave a discount on merchandise. Good to know!

We will be at Portofino Bay at Universal over President’s Day weekend and we are at Disney for 3 nights (2/17-2/20). We used our gift cards to pay down our charges last trip. I had so many cards (3–Yes 3 redemption cards from 3 Disney cards) plus 1 gift card that I didn’t want to risk forgetting them at home, so...I used them towards paying the cost for our package this trip. I had about $600 total. I will still earn points using our CSR on the reservation, and I thought we might want to use the Disney Visa for 10% on some of our meals. We have 5 over 10 now so we opted not to do the dining this trip. Was That a bad move? Could we still get the 10% off if we use the Disney Visa card on file and pay down the hotel charges with gift cards?

It’s been much better. Thank you for asking! I went to the chiropractor the week of December 12 and that must have really helped. Lately I’ve been starting to feel a pain in my lower back but we’ve been with my family and sitting most days. My body is used to me walking 10,000 steps a day and here I’m lucky if I get 4,000. It’s too cold to go out and walk. We go home Monday and I’m gonna go back to the gym and walk again to see if that helps.

I have my eye on a 95K a night property in San Diego for 2021. My plan would be to put 15k on my Ascend, 15K on P2s Hilton Biz, and get the Aspire next year. Then I’d have 3 FN certs to use for that property yes? Would it be better to try and do 1 card w/ 15K and 2 Aspires? Would I be able to book a cash rate for one night to use the $250 resort credit?

Now that my CIP bonus has posted, it’s time to book the Park Hyatt Sydney! The Hyatt site keeps referring to the hotels being in the CBD and all I can think of the “weed” area at not where I want to be taking DS. But it really means “central business direct.” So funny how abbreviations have different connotations.

CBD meant business district long before it meant weed.

I used the Aspire credit to upgrade us to main cabin extra on a 6 hour transcontinental flight. We are literally in the second row with extra legroom and free alcohol..lol.
I think 30k is an awesome price. I’m paying 46,000 Hilton points for a Hilton garden inn so 30k is great!

12 days is a long time for weather to change even in the NE. I’d probably wait until 2-3 days out to make sure the weather people are getting it right.

To get the 10% discount on dining you have to pay with the Disney Visa or the Reward Redemption card. You could ask if they can take it off and still charge to the room if you just show it, but that's YMMV... and last reports I read was not working very well. Can't hurt to ask though!
