Anyone concerned about the Coronavirus in WDW ?

Should we wear a mask on over our nose and mouth at MCO - an international airport ?
Our airport is not international up here in the NE USA

At this point, no.

But If you only feel comfortable travelling through MCO with a mask on because of international travelers, then you should probably wear a mask at Disney too. Lots of international travelers there.

So If that’s the case, you might be better off cancelling.

Nope.

78,000 worldwide afflicted. 7.8 billion people in the world. So...like, .00001 percent of people alive?

Of the 78,000 sick, 2400 have died.

Barely a blip on my radar ..

Only when the news connnnnnstantly talks about it, do I even think of it.

I'm not really worried about it, but my trip isn't until the fall. I'll wait to see what's happening then before I make any decisions.

This.

It is a highly contagious virus, but is, as far as it has gone so far, no more dangerous than the annual flu viruses. Trying to control the infection would be the best solution until there is a vaccine developed. Hopefully, it will not mutate to become more serious, and will follow the same patterns as flu viruses that tend to drop off in the warmer summer months. In the meantime, bump up your frequency of hand washing and hand sanitizers.

Ok but it’s new. Cases are rising. Deaths are rising. I get that the numbers are small now but it’s getting worse and spreading globally. Is this going to get better or worse? My bet is on way worse before it gets better.
I do however agree that a November trip doesn’t need to be worried about yet but I would still lay attention and assess later.

Is it getting worse or more accurately reported?

Everyone cancelling trips to go "when it clears up" may been in for a rude surprise. If anything you should go now BEFORE it has a foothold in the US. Right now is the safest time.

I can tell you after visiting all last week the majority of the WDW visitors are not concerned. The park saw 10/10 days almost the entire week.

Over 100 children have died from flu this year in the US, while zero have died from Coronavirus. Anyone worried about Coronavirus should be much more worried about flu.

It's possible to be worried about both you know. However, when I'm worried about the flu I can get the vaccine and if I do get it I can be treated with Tamiflu. No such things for Corona as of yet.

I don't know why people feel the need to diminish other's concerns. If you aren't worried then good for you.
I personally am not concerned about WDW, I'm more concerned about my dh's workplace, especially now since there are people who are voluntarily quarantining themselves after their return from China.
So yes I'm just as concerned about Corona as I am of the flu at this point.

We have our flu shots :)
We will wait till August before we cancel
begging of May is our ADR date - we will use the same credit card

If we cancel our WDW vacation - will our ADR's be cancelled and reimbursed back onto our credit card ?
Or do we have to cancel each ADR individually on the MDE website - and then cancel our POFQ reservation with Dreams Unlimited to get our $200 back.
Our full payment is due in the begging of October - so I assume I can cancel our WDW vacation at the end of August if the Corona Virus has spread more throughout the world

I also made a reservation to a nice hotel 3 hours from our home
We can do mini golf, horse back riding, hiking, use the indoor pool, walk around the town,
do a boat ride on the lake., eat Ben & Jerry's ice cream :mickeybar .....and more ....

So far no plans to cancel our May WDW trip or our August one with the kids and grandkids. We also have a Canadian Cruise planned for October, out of Boston. That one I am watching more closely as I need to cancel by June to get full reimbursement. I will definitely be washing hands frequently and bringing the hand sanitizer. I know that doesn't prevent everything but it does help. The news really stirs it up alot so people are getting very nervous. I am watching what is going on but not panicking about it.

Yes, you have to cancel hotel & each ADR separately. And unless you are booking a prepaid meal like Cinderella’s Royal Table or a dessert party, meals won’t be charged ahead. But if you don’t cancel, you will get charged a $10 per person no show fee.
